Because most of these calls are coming from India and Pakistan.   We have no jurisdiction in those country's. And FWIW, they have already busted one here in the states. Got 14 years!

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

I got this same message today. Funny thing is, we are currently dealing with the IRS on an unrelated matter but It didn't sound legit to me, a recorded message. I looked up the number and found this board. We are seniors and I wonder if we are targeted because of our ages.

Yep, just received this call on my cell phone saying there was a lawsuit against me and to call back immediately.  The message stated that the number was from 206-905-9579, but my recent phone calls list says the real number is +20 69 059 579.  I have also gotten several messages in the past month saying I need to pay a debt collector, and I looked that up and there are several complaints related to those phone numbers as well.  Out of control!

I received a voice mail on my cell phone from the phone number 206-905-9579. IRS imoritant you call us back.  When I called back I could tell I was calling into a phone room due to background noise.  I asked who I was calling and want it was in reference to.  I was told I was speaking to Kevin Brown in a heavy accent (Indian - ish I think)  When I pressed wanting to know what the call was in reference to he said "I want to kill you" and then hung up on me.

Just received a phone call a few minutes ago, 7/15/15, of a woman's recorded voice saying she was with the IRS and they had been trying to reach me...if I didn't call this number 206-905-9579 there would be a warrant out for my arrest.  So I googled the number and saw all of these responses...what a scam.  Thank You!!

If you don’t owe taxes or have no reason to think that you do:
Contact the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration. Use TIGTA’s “IRS Impersonation Scam Reporting” web page to report the incident.
You should also report it to the Federal Trade Commission. Use the “FTC Complaint Assistant” on FTC.gov. Please add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments of your report.

Dudes called me 7/15/15, told me that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me, I stopped him right there and told him to put me on the DNC and to never call me again. He hung up on me.

I also got a call from this number stating he was from the IRS. He said I owed over $4k in back taxes and that I would lose my driver's license, have my bank accounts frozen, and my property taken. He then turned me over to his "supervisor" whom I questioned so thoroughly that he hung up on me! LOL
