My answering maching has a message stating that I do not answer calls from anonomous or unidentifiable callers, it tells a the caller that I am on the national do not call registry and if they are selling anything to just hang up and don't call back.  I then ask for them to leave a message which includes the caller's home phone number so i can intrude on their private life just like they are intruding on mine.

The annoying low-lifes always hang up at this point.

Got the same call everyone else got, I talked to a male, asked him to remove my number from the call list his remark was sorry I can't do that and hung up. Not much anyone can do the do not call list is a waste of time for those of us who input the number. nfortunately we all can not afford caller I D. So we will keep taking the call and when you dssay hello say it loud enough that it disconnects the call.

Called and when answered had a recording so I hung up then the next billing cycle of my phone bill I had thirteen charges of out of the country that I didn't make and were of the same dateof this frivolous call. So don't answer out of town calls you don't recognize let them leave u a Voicemail if they do then call back for legitimatcy.

Anyone know how to sue these callers? I want to start getting into their wallet instead of complaining on here or filing complaints to the Goverment's do not call list. If I start getting money from them through the courts then I'm sure they will remove my number form there call lists.

Record the date and time that this (these) calls are received. Try to keep a written record of several calls or for several days. Contact the phone company and the Attorney Generals Office, in your state, with the information that you have recorder and see if this will help them locate the phone bank these calls are coming from.
The majority of these calls are robo calls. A computer calls phone by using area codes and local prefixes and adding four digit numbers. They can start out at 000 000 0000, and as they call they begin to buils a data base of numbers. They can make thousands of call in a very short period of time.
DO NOT for ANY REASON press any number that maybe given to speak to an agent or to have your number removed, this can redirect your call to where your number is collected and used for thousands of dollars worth of illegal calls, if talking to a live person, politely (being polite at this point throws thems off) ask for their name, if they give a name write it down, then inform  tell them you have their number on your caller id (they have no way of knowing if you have caller id or not) and that you are recording the call (again no way of knowing). Tell the individual on the phone, that in talking to your States Attorney General's Investigative Division, you have been told who to send this information to and that you will now hang up and call that number. If this individual is still on the phone be sure and thank them for their name, even though it may not be their real name. Do and say this if it is 2:00 a.m. when they call. Then Hang up.
If you don't want to go through all of that and you want to have some fun, go to Wal Mart or simular store buy a small can of signal air. Compressed air that is used by boaters to signal other boats, about $5.00 per can. VERY, VERY loud. If a human calls, very nicely, like you really want to talk to this individual, ask them to wait while you get pencil and paper, ask their name, pick up the horn, put it to the mouth, push button on horn, give it one loud blast. This individual will not call back.
Have some fun, remember they called you to have fun so why shouldn't you have a little fun also.

The amount YOU can sue for is small $500 to $1000, plus they pay court cost. A lot of times they will settle out of court. Do not file suit unless you are prepared to follow through or you might find that you are being sued for filing a malicious law sue.
In most states you would not even need an attorney to file these suits.
But I would strongly advise you to talk to an attorney first, to be advised on the proper steps that you need to follow and what evidence you will be required to have. Attorney's advise FREE to $500.00+/-.
Always do it the right way, keep records and a paper trail, or it could come back to bite you in the butt.
Some people have made a decent living from suing these callers.

If they are getting really annoying, you might try a little trick I use. I save the numbers at the back of my contact list (usually use ZeIdiots, Zeassholes etc for the name so that it's at the back of the contact list). Save them there, and set the tone for the calls from those numbers to have no ring tone...you'll still end up with missed calls, but at least you won't have to deal with the phone ringing at odd and inconvenient times, and considering there are generally spaces for 4-5 numbers under each name, you can fit a bunch of companies in under one heading.

Health insurance solicitor.

Pressed 1 Rodney answered concerned about my health care benefits and wanting to confirm my coverage in case of a slip and fall. Interstingly I asked what compnay he was from and he hung up on me. Guess he didn't really care about my healthcare????

Robo call trying to promote heath insurance.  Calls every few days.

Just received a call from this # as well, did not answer it and no message was left on my voice mail.I am on the DNC list and have been getting calls from various #'s in the past few weeks.

Repeated calls from this number on my cell phone (which makes the calls even more offensive).  Trying to peddle insurance of some sort.  If you miss the call... then try and call back... always get a busy signal.  How long does it take before a regulatory office shuts down these yahoos?

Our telephone number has been called repeatedly by this number, which lists itself on our caller identification device as "service message," as others have pointed out. When I answer, I get what sounds like a pitch for a credit-card company or something that has to do with the recipient of the call's putative indebtedness. As others on this webpage have said, these calls are absolutely annoying and not legal because they violate no-call privacy laws and are misrepresenting themselves as offering some sort of service that the caller might be interested in.
