It is legit. What you want to do is to call citibank customer service. it was a verification of checks that was sent out.

This number drop a same recorded message to my 3 different phones, at same time. He also mentioned from Citibank. But the baloni is I never give Citibank the other 2 numbers!  Obvious, these are a chain of crooks including Insiders from Citibank, from cell phone companies and they Do their home work to link the pieces of info they stole together become a powerful net of hoax!  I can only pray the law enforcements get them asap.

Received a call from 208-822-2207, they left a message asking me to call back at 866-442-7479, claiming to be "Citi Security Services."  I do have a Citi card but didn't think they sounded legit so I hung up and called the number on my card, asked to be transferred to their fraud department, and they had not called me and confirmed that neither the original nor the callback number are associated with Citi card services.

I can;'t think of anything that would be too bad to happen to the people who pull this crap for a living.

Called 2xs 1 day left message that was 2 min long but was only the background noise. scammer report and block!!

woman claim calling from Citibank and she can spell out my full name. she wants to know why am I not happy with citibank? She then asked for my account number and I refuse to give her. She hang up. BIG SCAM. Report to citibank

As I work for Citi, I can verify that this is a citi number. However, some of the behavior reported here is NOT what you should expect of our employees. It sounds like someone may be spoofing our # to scam people. If in doubt, hang up and call a verified Citi number instead.

IS NOT CITI, I called CITI.

Ignored call. Called and message said it was "Citi" and told me to call another 1-800 number.

Calls but leaves no message. Boise, Idaho origins.

My CitiBank card number was used by a would be thief. Citi caught the fraud and alerted me to the problem. While I was on the phone with Citi, i received and ignored a call from this number!  I'm thinking this is a new scam: stealing a card number and then calling the victim to scam some REAL money.

Received a call didn't answer.  When i called back said it was citi and to call a 1800 #.  Didn't call

Citibank fraud protection services. They wanted to confirm suspicious charges on my account and I'm glad they did.

Just got a call claiming to be calling to close an old trouble ticket.  I won't help them by pointing out the red flags they raised (since they post here claiming it is Citibank when it IS NOT.  Nice try, liars.).

If it's not Citibank as you claim, why did you use the 'valid' call type? Also, I will say what no one here seems to be: The number is possibly theirs and is being spoofed by scammers to appear legit

Called claiming they are Citibank and needed my account information so they can pull up my account and do some updates to my account, LOL. Don't fall for this scam.

I got a text on my cell phone today 9 28 2018 . They said alert to a fraud and was citi  fraud dept.it said did you attempthink $707.43  at WWCS on 9 28?yes 1 no 2.or call 800 3938903.  Then I called the number on the back of my card and couldn't get anything from the Asian accented guy.. Then I  received  a phone call on my cell phone again saying they were from citi fraud line. Then they wanted the phone number that they just messaged me on and wanted me to hang up so they could call me back, which they did.  I don't know  who they were so the only thing they got from me was to cancel my card. I haven't yet but I will call citibank to make sure they canceled my card.
