OMG! I just had a show down with these crazy people today. They did the same thing to me but I was called several B**** and Wh*** I am filing complaints as we speak with BBB and Consumer debt harassment everybody. They are going to get what's coming to them for what they are doing to people. I applied for a payday loan online and all these strange people and these folks have been calling me. I don't know who they are but I will find out.

i would say dont sign get loan online yes these are scams the number 209-912-2108 is doing same to me its scam they wont tell u nothing when u ask and they have irain accents

I have been getting calls for about a week-same thing said like you guys have reported. Today, they called at 4:30AM, I notified the Attorney General in California. Why don' the shut these idiots down? how hard can to be to find them?

Got a call from a heavily accented lady from the number 208-912-2108. I had tried to sign up for a pay-day advance- now they won't stop calling here. The message was threatening, claiming I needed to call asap as they wouldn't be sure of what would happen to me in the future as my situation unfolds.

They called me on my cell phone first, then they called my work phone severval times back to back, and when we answered they didn't say anything.

I got a call this morning from someone named Jimmy Brown with a very heavy accent too saying that he was from the state of California Attorney's office. He said that he had a very important legal matter to discuss with me, so I told him I would call him back later on. Then he started calling my job, back to back and hanging up whenever we answeresd. I tried calling back the number on the caller id and it just rang and rang. Finally someone answered and it was a woman with very heavy accent as well, saying that I owe some company money, asking me when am I going to pay my debt. I asked them what was the name of the company I supposedly owe, and they started naming all these companies saying they represent all of them. After that she started telling me that I need to come to the courthouse in California, and I hung up. I knew at that point, it had to be a scam.

THIS IS A SCAM!! THEY PREY ON PEOPLE W/ PAST DUE LOANS!!! You should not give your info to anyone w/out checking them out that is how scams are SUCCESSFUL because people react off of fear and not by knowledge. This place is a fraud and the are violating FDCPA guidelines, just do some research so that you are not a victim.

I also recieved a call from these people at 7:30in the morn a man claming he was calling from the california state attorneys office about a lawsuit in los angeles ca...when i asked him several times to repeat himself as i coulnt understand him over his indian accent he replied this isnt a scam...that right there told me it was a scam ....not only that i dont owe anyone money and he couldnt tell me how much or what it was for ....i am a bill collector myslf so i am quite aware of the laws and know no bill collector who is from a legit compnay would every call u before 8 am as it is  against the law .....so me and  my co-workers did some reseach and called them several times  eah time they answered they said the were with a different firm ....anderson law firm ...state of california  attny office....hurtsgrove law firm and attny mike kalb....i asked each person for the bar number and address as any legit atty would know  by law they have to provide that info and any bill collector would know as well u have to provide that by law upon request......to make a ong story story short the man keep  putting me on hold everytime  i asked him a question and would come back and say  how can i help u.....so we decided lets  harass them as they  do to us ...so i called and called and called them lets  just  say they didnt like  it !!!!lol i am  going to contact budd hibbs he has helped many consumers in the past with phony companys trying to defraud  people who are just trying to do the right thing and pay off there debts!!! it upsets me to know that these people ar sitting in an office overseas somewhere scamming people and the us government is  doing nothing to stops this .....not all bill collectors are bad and some of  us follow all laws to the t and really try to help people find a solution to get back on there feet isnt it bad enough we have companys breaking laws and  giving the collection industry a bad  name collect legit debts now we have to worry about people in other countrys stealing our info and harrassing people on debts they dont even owe! i say if there harrassing u give them a taste of there  own medicine harrass them  back  am contact budd  hibbs the fbi ftc and attny general this needs to be put to an end!

I got the same, a phone call at work and the same jerk with a heavy accent told me the same lame story, that there is  a lawsuit on my name,......blah,,,blah...blah....then when I called back told them,,,,OK put something on paper signed by your senior attorney and then we talk....at the point the person stood quite on the phoned and I hung up,,,,,,I called the number back saying I was John Smith and they were asking for my phone number to pull up my info....this people are a rookie scam....LETS BRING THEM DOWN NOW.......

More than likely its a payday loan scam from debt collectors who either Indian or Pakistani. They use a website to attract customers to apply for a payday loan which is what they call it a "ghost" or "fishing" site. They say you are denied for a loan and so they match you with numerous request so they can sell your information to the highest bidder of collection agencies. They call you and say they are from the Justice Department or officer or attorney blah-blah-blah!!! Justice department who say they're names are Jimmy Brown or Christina Rose with Indian accents. This is an all-out scam for sure who think us Americans are greedy just by issuing threats to have us arrested for a payday loan. I mean they just make me laugh and are far out idiots.

A little. Update on these people. I called numerous time. And each time they were diff attys apparently they are grabbing real attny info off the internet and using there info I took it upon myself to google the reaL attnys that they were claiming they were and called them to notify them what was going on I. Suggest u do the same the fbi has a notice about this on there website with alink telling u to conTact ur bank and put fraud alert on ur credit reports as these people have ur personal info! TheSe people will be held accountable!

i keep calling them like they do to me ....i calmly started to reason with a man going by the name attny richard gelb trying to pull as much info out of them as possiable..asking him questions in a way he would give me info not realizing it i had  him on the line for 15 mins he openly admitted this was a scam and that he makes 1500.00 an hour scamming people his reasoning behind doing this was its not easy to survive in india we dont have  paid health insurance like we do here and he needs to live and so on ...i told him that all good things dont last forever and at some point he will get caught this man said there is nothing the fbi can do to get me in india they will never find us so  he is not worried ...he stated that they use prepaid cards so they cant be traced and that u would be surprised that how many people would be tricked into paying these fake debts he also stated that they purchase info  from online companies that are fully aware of this and use magic jac and services that allow u to spoof ur number thru different ip address i explained to this man that if he was smart he would turn in whoever he works for and claim a reward that the fbi or other agenceys give rewards to people who give info  to them that lead to people being caught for doing this ...his response was that he was afraid if he turned his boss in that he would go to jail as well ......i cant believe how much information on this scam this man actually gave me that just proves these people have no reguard for what they are doing and truly believe they will never get caught he said he knows the fbi will never come to india to get him because they cant .....i know its hard to bite ur tounge and be nice but the man actully said to me u seem like a smart woman and  very kind i will remove  ur number and make sure no one in our office contacts u again....we shall she about that ... i just dont understand with all the tax money we pay out why we do not have the resources to do soemthing to get this to stop....or at least catch the companies responsiable for selling our  info to them

OM!!!!!!!!!!!  I can't believe you paid them money!!!!!  I'm so sorry for you!!!!  It's phsycially painfull to me to know that someone actually paid them money.  When they asked me for my credit card number I gave them their phone number.

These people have been calling me for a week or so.  Same story as everyone else on here.  Applied fora  payday loan last month and my info got sold.  Never received a penny but they claim I did.  So I have this number written down.  When they call me, I call them.  Repeatedly.  "How are you today?  I owe you money?  Ok, how much do you want?  You can have it all"  I have been talking to this "Craig Stevins" (yes, thats how he spells it) and he says if I don't call and talk to him on the phone every day they're going to keep calling me and that the calls are never going to stop and the only way to stop them is if I call him every day.  When I told him I was married and stayed him with my kids he asked how many times I had been married because all Americans are divorced.  I told him I'm not divorced and never will be and he didn't believe me.  They cuss and talk about how dumb Americans are (not that I disagree there especially after reading here that some people have actually given them money).  Anway, the next time they call I'm going to call my local police and let them know about the harassment and possible security threat.  These people are Muslims.  He's told me so.

I had the same "relationship" with this Craig Stevins (that's how he spells it).  He wants to talk to me on the phone every dayhe said.  Said that when I call to ask for him.  When I didn't call him yesterday morning (only cuz they hadn't called ME yet) he was actually mad.  He said he waited for my call all day long and it was actually really creepy.  They're not going to take your name off, trust me.  They're having fun with us right back.

Calls repeatedly and threatens my fiancee. Has called his job so many times his boss is ready to fire him. He has been written up already becasue of it. It isn't just one phone call, once you hang up they call back. On my own cell phone they called back over 48 times in less than 5 mins. After I first told them that this was not my fiancees phone, the man with a heavy accent claiming to be "David Jones' said "do you know who I am and what I can do to you?"   I told him that I was calling the police and hung up at which point he proceeded to repeatedly call me and tie up my cell phone.

I got a call from these people today. Same story.

I received an email from this telephone number: Hey bro I need your pg&E bill it's easy u save half I need account number meter number service I'd number name and address on account and social security number and birthdate I'll save u half promise it helps my family and dude if I don't get it I lose 3k can u bro I need it for me

I copied one of the posts from this site and sent it back to them. They responded with "wtf"

This and many other numbers are being "Spoofed" by Delta Outsource Group, a "Debt Collector" out of Missouri.  They will try and gather enough information to create an account with you.
