    Creeped out! replies to Worker
Wow, that WAS him . This creep called my phone repeatedly today. When I answered he asked if this number was for (I can't remember what he said) but he asked for some officer or something. The first time he called I missed it, so I googled the number immediately since I didn't recognize it. Saw these posts, then answered the second time. When he asked for that officer, or whovever it was, I just said "yes" and he said "can I speak to him" so I put it on mute and waited to see if he would say anything. He finally hung up and called back but I didn't answer. Then I saw THIS post above. Called the number and sure enough it was the SAME voice! What a loser!!! Get a life!!!

They called me at 10:31am and 10:49am today while I was at my appt. at the VA hospital here in SA. I didn't answer it either time and they left no message. It seems we should be able to figure this person out. Maybe I'm a bit harsh, but then we can cut off their hands.

    Please Answer Anyway
This number is a general number that shows up on caller ID when receiving a call from any of several thousand people at Fort Sam Houston.  I tried to call my brother a little while ago, but he was unable to answer the phone at the time.  When he tried to call back, he got a "disconnect" message.  I only know because I called him again and he answered a few minutes later...after having read comments on this site.  This is not one single person calling being a jerk (although I am sure there are those, too), but rather could be anyone from the military base.  If you know someone who works out here, or you do business with the military, or might have a family member that was arrested, I would recommend answering the phone.  On behalf of everyone out here, I apologize for the jerk(s) who use this feature to harass people, when in fact it is designed to protect government workers.

    Please Answer Anyway, again
This could also be the hospital trying to verify or change appointments you have, or prescriptions, or many other things.  However, if someone calls to harass and or makes threats, it is a criminal offense.  Call the police, and they can contact the authorities on the post.  They ARE able to trace the call for investigative purposes.  Please just make sure you are actually receiving threats, not just someone being rude and therefore violating no laws.

    Wrong Number
Just rec'd call on my cell #. Caller left the following msg:
"This is Colonel Nick Nickerson, calling from Fort Sam Houston. I'm trying to reach Captain Nickerson. My office number is 210-221-0080, and my Blackberry is 210-325-9859. Thank you."

He wasn't threatening at all. I'm only posting to try to help the Colonel out.

Received a call from this number at 7:45pm in Germany- which would make it around noon or 1pm in Texas when the call was made. I answered, but the caller hung up as soon as I picked up. Don't know if it was on purpose or they though I wasn't going to answer (I let it ring four or five times)

I think there are two things going on here.

First, this is a legitimate number from Ft. Sam Houston (medical division). It can be placed on the automated programming or be live. It is programmed to call those with pending medical appointments to remind an eligible subscriber of a future appointment.

With regard to actual calls on the live line, I think someone (not necessarily a military member, remember there MANY civilian employees working within the confines of DOD), is bored with their overnight shift and is calling for their own entertainment. That should be unacceptable but remember, civilians are well protected by their union AND it would be quite a difficult challenge to prove it's happening. It would take a kind of "class A" type action to level a charge against this employee.

I am open to legitimate correction.

Although it shows my post is a reply to a specific individual, that was not the intention. (Sorry)

I recognized the area code since we were stationed in San Antonio many yrs ago. No messages were left. I received an call today with FSH Gov.

Can't some one sue this organization or company for making such calls?

I think if the supervisors are arrested on public nuisance for these calls than no staff member will make such calls.
