I just spoke with someone there using the 800 number referenced above. It is a child support collection agency. I assured them that my 14 yo child did not owe any, and they should stop calling him. Supposedly, they took his # out of the database. We'll see.

they keep calling me saying there's a ticket in my name for 70 dollars, on a vehicle that I sold a while ago. I talked to a representative he explained and so I asked for an address where I could go speak with someone in person about this to see if it's official or fake. He said there's no place I can go to personally speak with anyone. What kinda of collection or ticketing agency would not have an office I can go talk to...?

You are exactly right...correct...right-on...LISTEN UP PEOPLE...when I got a call from this number, they were faxing me the payment history I REQUESTED from them for my EX-SPOUSE to show proof she missed some monthly child-support payments.  When you hear nothing or a fax sound, it is the State of Tx OAG---Child Support Division FAX SERVER trying to fax something to your # that was requested PRIOR to you receiving the call...SO...either it was a wrong# given to OAG-CS Division or someone is using your number as a fax# that was given to OAG-CS Division. I know this is correct cause I just used the services of the Texas OAG-CS Division last FRIDAY, Jul 9th, and I requested a payment history...PERIOD, end of statement.  This is in NO WAY a SCAM, once again HELLO PEOPLE, they are trying to help the REQUESTER, whoever that may be...FYI :)

If this is the case, why are they calling me? I have never had children, and they haven't left a message. If this was in fact a legitimate operation for child support disbursement, then the caller would leave a message with their name and telephone number to return the call. It's possible they have my number by mistake, but if no one answers when you pick up or returns messages left, it's very hard to believe they're legitimately calling me for child support disbursement or any other reason.

By the way, let me reiterate: I'm a single 20-something who has never given birth. I would not be entitled to any child support whatsoever.

This is weird.  I just got a phone call from this number and it was from the Texas Office of the Attorney General returning my call in regards to an inquiry I put in for a lost child support payment. They simply called to inform me that they found the payment and it was posted to my account.  Not bad news, in my case, but it's definitely the OAG for Texas.

They say they are from A.C.S. They left no voice mail & when I return the call I get an automated answer asking to enter in an extension. Kind of hard to do when they don't leave one. I did find out they are using a phone number from Bexar county, Texas. I wish I could find out how to get someone's cell number when I call directory assistance. It should be illegal for companies to do that.

When the holidays come around, WATCH OUT!  These idiots are calling a Federal Govt phone number and we track every call.  They claim some outstanding bills; and will take away my driving privledges or have the Police handcuff me in Pennsylvania.   I do not live in Pennsylvania nor do I have children.   I have no outstanding bills.

The Govt doesn't call anyone to pay bills. You receive a written notice in the mail.  Period.  They have call on one number that doesn't match caller ID.   Never ID Who they are or Who they want.

    Keep this in mind:

    (1) Make THEM Provide the "Name" of who THEY are suppose to be looking for.   Spelling and all.

    (2) Do NOT give out your name or personal information  -  THEY Called you!!!!

    (3) Tell them to send any information in writing.   THEY have the adddress after all.

    (4) Don't Volunteey your personal business or info about Family, Firends or Neighbors.  They are
         fishing for information.

    (5) It's illegal to threaten with arrest, jail time or curse you out.

    (6) Record the call if you must...Tell them you are recording the call to present to Police or the
Courts.  Let's see if they keep calling.

    (7) Be safe....Be careful   ("A fool and his/her money are soon departed")

Got a call claimed they were the 3rd District Court in Pennsylvania. They gave a 1-800-249-1299 number and a case number and said I would loose my driving privilages in the state I reside if I did not call them back. I called, sat on hold for a long time. Called back - got some one and asked for Mr Harris that left the message. He said this was a matter that happened in Philadelphia. Never been there. He asked for my birthdate and I asked why he needed it.  In mean time I plugged in number on-line and found out it was bogus. I called him out on it. He hung up.
I called back and gave him a piece of my mind. Scam Artists!!!!!!!!!!!! Get a real job and stop harrassing the ones that do.

I got a call from this number also, and later that day got a call from my bank stating someone attempted to book a flight using my credit card. I immediately advised them it wasn't me and they cancelled my card to reissue another. They stated that my card was compromised and this needed to be done. I suggest checking with your bank and other information for any abnormalities.

They called me and they said they were from loss prevention on my Master Card. They said there was a hold on my card due to recent activity. They wanted my social security number and name. I said I was not going to give it to them. They told me to call the number on the back of my card and give the info to them. I had made (3) cash with draws of $400 and it triggered there loss prevention to shut my card down till I confirmed my card was not stolen.

They called and left a message saying thet were from child support dispersment.  I called the 877 number they left and they said that it was a call updating their information.  Also said an updated reference number had gone out in the mail.  Unfortunately, when they asked for my social I made the mistake of giving it to them.  They also asked for my address at which time my brain started to kick in.  When they asked for my daughters social, I told them I didn't have it right there.  I'm usually very paranoid about giving out my info over the phone.  Wish I had done my research sooner.  Texas has called in the past to update informayion.  Hopefully, they have gone to telemarketers to make the initial calls.  Can't reach a human at child support to verify.  Guess I will find out if my identity gets hacked.  I did tell her that all the info was what identity thieves want and she hadn't identified herself as being state of Texas.

Its wednesday & i have received 3 calls in a row from the number 210-331-2239. The 1st time i answered but pretended not to understand English (childish i know, lol) & hung up on her. She then called me back 2 more times! The 2nd time i sent the call directly to voicemail, the 3rd time i just let it ring. So annoying that anytime you sign up for something online i start receiving this d*** random calls the next day.
