I got a call from this # on my cellphone with no voice-mail attached.

Me too, I am a 62 y.o male in OH with no child support obligations and do not receive such payments either. They left no message but called from that same number in SA/TX. Sounds fishy for sure or they dont know how to do their jobs which is not surprizing coming out of TX or places like FL and OH where I have lived.

7/5/12- received unwanted unsolicited call w/ dead air message from 210 331 2239. did area code search, found SA/TX. returned call late pm, recorded message says' thanks for calling ACS'. (Animal Control Service?) That # is now blocked on my ph's.

Oh yes it is bogus and never give personal info over the ph. At least not until your sure who your talking to.

Most of these calls were placed in 2010-11 and in varied cases where so called ID was actually confirmed, there were varying accts of who or what supposedly legit agencies made the area 210 calls. Meaning flat out bogus! In 2012 the Federal Gov put out new alerts on new and sometimes convincing scams used in fishing for info. DO NOT GIVE PERSONAL INFO TO ANYONE OVER THE PH, at least not until u can confirm who your talking too or maybe when u placed the call to a known #.

They were calling back because they were helping me access statements online. This is the Eppicard technical peeps.

It is a third party agency for goverment and Xerox co. The name of company is ACS and MMC located at 2228 General Hudnell Dr. San Antonio TX. The company does Foodstamp and Child Support funds verification and Xerox customer support. I filled out application and I took interview. Now they call every so often to see if I'd be interested in temp. or fulltime work. Found it by typing ACS and MMC. I dialed number  210-331-2239 to confirm and it was ACS. Once again they offered part time employment in mail room.

If this is child support, then why do you keep asking me for my ssn? Never is 7 years has child support given a [***] about my case and now all the sudden you do? Please if you are not a scam then you should be professional and leave a normal message with your information and the reason for your call. Not have a [***] attitude when you are asked who you are why you calling. ON TOP OF THE FACT child support doesn't have my cell phone number, so how did you get it? SCAM ALL THE WAY. My number isn't listed and child support doesn't even have it because again, they haven't bothered with my case for 7 years.

THIS IS A WESTERN UNION SCAMMER. Do not give them any information and if ask them for a first & last NAMe & reference number. These people will steal identities & account money. Don't be gullible!!!

It is the Child Support Office....I had to have them do some research on something concerning child support.  When the number is called back it says to enter in an extension

I received a call from this number today and could not understand the message that was left so I got online to check the number out.  After reading all the replies I tried to log into eppicard to check my child support account and it was locked.  I was not comfortable calling this number so I called the number on my card.  This number is their fraud division and a purchase I had tried to make online through ebay had triggered the alert.  They took care of the problem and unfroze my card.  This company administers the cards for child support, unemployment, and several other types of payments issued on debit cards.

Why would you say they don't call out?  The called my phone...isn't that calling out?  I don't have children, never have, never will.....and no there is NOT a chance I would be a parent.......never been in that particular situation...not my style

They called me last night just before 9pm.  I wasn't able to answer and they didn't leave a voicemail. When I called back it asked me to enter in a 4-digit ext or disconnect, so I hit 0.  No answering service available so my call was disconnected.  If this is child support, I don't know why they'd be calling me - I live with my children's father and do not have any other children, and neither does he.  If it's food stamps, I don't see why'd they be calling me, they have my employment info. I'm not on unemployment, either, so I dunno why they'd call for that.

210-331-2239 state of floridas' mastercard/debit verification. Person spoke with a noticeable lack of serious education thus likely to be a government employee.

The number that called me is 210-331-2239 and is based at the Texas Office of the Attorney General/Child Support Disbursement Unit.  I didn't recognize the number, but when I checked my voicemail it stated this is where the call came from - specifically the Direct Deposit department.  It was not an unsolicited call; in fact they were calling at my request.  This is not a scam phone number.  I check all unknown numbers on this site prior to answering because the person who had my number previously was in a lot of hot water.  I even get calls from Mexico.  Since I saw so many concerned posts I thought I'd share what I know.

The phone # 210-331-2239 called at 7:39pm tonight. I didn't recognize the #, so I let it go to voicemail. Then called and listened to the message. The message is very choppy, but that they were calling from card services. I called back the # and it is ACF. BTW, no agent would pick up the pending call.

Was child support office looking to see where to mail my child support refund

This is an ACS number, but it should be an internal one! They handle good stamps, child support, unemployment, and social security! It is not fraud, but if you receive a call from this number, and uncomfortable taking the call, just call the 1877 number on your card! They handle a lot of states, not just Texas.

why would they call us and not talk properly? it sounds too fishy maybe they are secret agents so they can't speak openly but i would rather not get suspicious help. thank you for all the reviews
i didn't pick up the call and i got no message in my voice mail- so i searched the area code it was from nj and i have friends there so i called back only to get a automatic message instructing me to enter an extension number for a personnel i was seeking to talk to.
on another note i also get calls from outside the country who keeps mistaking me for someone else i wish i could just not have anymore unwanted calls; also messages that i cannot translate because it's bits in french or swaheli or some other language
