I just watched a GDS video via a link from a recruitment website.. within 25 seconds of watching chav losers tell me how great it is to be standing around in an office wearing a headset begging people for sales you could tell this whole place is a scam... then to see a teenage lad claim he was the "vice president of north america" forgive me if i'm wrong, but i believe that would be Joe Biden.. not a goon from the Bristol office who's on a two week work placement at an office block in new york..

reading a few pages from here has only confirmed what a sham it all appears to be

    gds
why dont you do something about it?

Ali Nadal Hassan, you seem quite annoyed at GDS but I am even more perturbed that you feel the need to call on your God and wish the end of life to the employees of this company.

Surely, that isnt very god like and the company is far from terrible-

What has happened to you to make you so angry!?!?

GDS is exactly like a gang from Rio. The leader wears a backpack and new recruits need to wear their sunglasses upside  down. Lots of the employees have BB Guns and they are all obsessed with sandwiches.

your 100% right. its a legit company that uses high pressure tactics. even though the sales tactics piss a lot of people off, the bottom line is that gds is a very legit company that is constantly growing. -- having been to a summit, everyone who says they will be there--guess what---they're there!! that's why we rebook like we do and work with some of the biggest names in all different kinds of markets.--so dont worry about how "legit" gds is.

having worked for 2 other sales companies out of college, gds is definitely is a good gig and will be around for a very long time.

you are all obviously naive and haven't been exposed to the type of scum that exist out there is you feel otherwise

--also, as for wages, its not uncommon for a 25 year old kid (aka--myself) to make 75k in their second year. ---not millions obviously, but certainly  livable given the economy.

You know this company is a huge f-up because rarely will you find a 38 page blog full of complaints with immature employees and scammed advertisers fighting with each other.  There has to be a reason for it...

As for the $75k/year employee, the only reason your at GDS making that is because if you were to make less money than you would be fired.

    This is getting boring
There are not 38 pages full of complaints the majority are the individuals repeating themselves like parrots... If you think this is bad stuff and the cardiff office is full of numpties with no brains how come...and think about this...how come NO LARGE COMPANY HAS EVER FILED ACTION adn the only people crying are obviously ex employees who got told, listen your not bringing in the money why should we pay you 18 or watevea k a year...Good businesses thrive on results...GDS gives results, current employees give results. So just cause you couldnt get the deals or sales is not your career path...quit whining. and before someone comes back with some syupid you must be spencer or some other [***]..no im a GDS employee, with no SALES BACK GROUND AT ALL getting results and hitting the moooolar baby.. Im the leader so i wheres a backpack see with all the boys sandwiches in...

Typical GDS trainees who have not been there 6 months!!! WAKE UP before long you will be getting brought into the office and being told sorry this is not working out. What if you have a mortgage eh? They are employing anyone and everyone with the numbers game, a friend of mine in the cardiff office said they hired a GOD DAMN MARINE SNIPER OR SOMETHING! I mean how the hell is this guy gonna survive the sales floor, hes probably got bills to pay and cause he does not have the skills will find himself suffering. GDS takes advantage of young career hungry individuals and tweaks and tweaks until your either brain washed or job seeking. FACT

What nonsense. What company attempts to get employees that aren't hungry? This poster sums up the idiots that complain about GDS. It's people who can't hack the pressure of a results driven job and would rather be doing a standard job, making an average basic... And because they are failures at the job, because make no mistake 99% of the people on here are failures who couldn't make it at GDS, they moan and whine and are jealous about those who can. Jealousy is a terrible thing, but wholy understandable. And people will continue to post here, because there will always be jealous people and there will always be people who like to take the piss out of bitter failures.

So let's get the sandwiches in.

    gds bin ladin
I will never be jealous of a company who makes you stand all day, who yells at you if you walk in as much as a minute late, and who makes you go home if you are not wearing a tie.  When you have the owner of the company giving you emails with _______ fill in the blanks, you know that there is something terribly wrong with the company.

I worked for GDS in its Sydney office for about 6 months after I left the Army. Realised what a scam it was and when I questioned a lot of really stupid practices (such as trying to get someone to part with 50K using a rubbish script, the auditing process, why everything was so vague and secretive), was let go and told I had no talent for sales and that i'd never make it. Imagine my surprise when I read about GDS opening a new office in Sydney and claiming it works with some pretty big name companies, one of which whom i'm the Marketing Director for across Asia Pacific. When I asked my overseas counterparts to look at whether or not we've done business with GDS anywhere at anytime, we couldn't find anything. It made for a really interesting conversation with my boss who along with myself is currently planning on visiting one of the offices of GDS and asking them to explain why they are telling people we do business with them when we certainly do not. As an aside, wondering what ever happened to Ian Tracey who was a good laugh and who had a really nice place at Manly right on the water, and Jim Berry who was the MD? Looking forward to

    GDS is a disaster
I worked for GDS for about 6 weeks in 2007.  I was sent there through a recruiter.  Owen Wilson and the Worldwide Sales Director(I can't remember his name) told me I had to tell the recruiter that I didn't get the job.  They told her the same thing so they wouldn't have to pay the commission.  I should have known then.  Of course the week of training was ridiculous.  Also a sign.  I had come from the Verizon Yellow Pages where we had a structured 6 week training.  I made a huge mistake. I was actually there when Alex Sobol started.  He was on the same event as me. I was astounded by the lack of morals we were being taught. 3 weeks in I was miserable but needed the money.  So I would just call the numbers of companies I knew had a recording and let that recording go.  I would pitch occasionally but hated my life.  I actually made one sale for the event before I left.  i had booked a trip to Vegas before I started there and they tried to tell me I was not going to be able to go. They said I had no vacation time.  I said I would just take the 3 days unpaid.  They said that was not possible and I would have to cancel.  After 6 weeks I couldn;t take it any more so I just peaced out. There was no scene, just a phone call saying I would never be coming back.  I left for Vegas the next morning. They tried to screw me on money I was owed.  Owen Wilson would not pick up when I called about the salary I was owed.  I found a job at a real online marketing firm a couple of weeks later.  Owen was still ducking my calls and emails.  I finally called and emailed with the threat of legal action.  Owen called back and screamed at me on the phone calling me a coward.  I was able to let him know he was the coward by ducking me.  My checks were over nighted to me.  After being with my new company for a while I saw 2 other GDS employees come in for interviews.  I know my company was going to offer one of them a position but they never answered our HR guys phone calls and he then had one of the other GDS girls answer the phone and pretend to be his secretary.  He had used an alias on the phone and the secretary answered his phone using his alias.  It was such a joke.  What a disaster.

I dont care how legit GDS is, no company in the world gives you a job offer (by e-mail) and then when you get there it turns out you really didnt get the job, you got an audition.  The whole week i had to read from a script that was 4 pages long filled with misleading information and i had to walk around the room reading aloud while the sales rep gives you dirty looks.  The place was straight out of boiler room, except in the movie, the sales people at least got to sit down.  But it seemed everyone was a puppet.  When a sale was on the horizon, the managers would scream into the ear of the sales rep while that person would repeat verbatium everything the manager said.  When the end of the week came, mr owen wilson informed me that i didnt get the job.  I was in a group of 4 and only 2 got the job.  One of them was a young 21 year old beautiful girl who i found out became senior account director.  i wonder if that position was deployed but many young mid 20's people.  It just seemed this place was just a frat/sorority continuation from college.  Maybe it wouldve been fun but looking back im glad i never worked there.  Im in a real sales job that has never been questioned about its legitmacy and im proud that im working there
