- Donald replies to RussellDid you ever file a lawsuit? I had a call from a guy named Jason Wolfe with GDS and he was trying to get me to go to a conference
- Dont waste your timeI hate this firm with a passion. It is a complete joke in every sense possible. However I still dont think there is any point in contiuing this blog, it wont stop untill they [***] the wrong clients and they go to town on GDS.
Please get on your with your lives and find more constructive things to do with your time! - calling your bluff replies to well well wellIf you are so highly educated, there wouldn't be spelling mistake after spelling mistake in your statement.
No wonder you work at GDS mate, you are obviously a complete moron. If you want people to take you seriously, go back to the first grade and ask your professor where to punctuate and how to form a complete sentence. You may also want to find out if leaving school in middle form is considered "eduacted to a high standard".... its educated you silly fool. - 2010| 2 repliesI know its been the holiday season but this blog had gone so quiet. With GDS reopening their doors for another year of corrupt antics, extending to KL an Oz now too, i think its time to step it up! "Believe it or not, 2010/Q1 is the best time for people wanting to spend their advertizing budgets" - New budgets, new positions, more competition, i cant practically hear mr smarts voice echoing around each office.
so come on people entertain! - ex-gds replies to 2010| 1 replyi wonder what kind of a deal GDS cut with this website to stop, or filter out, all these posts. i miss reading about this pathetic company i used to work for before i went back to school. all gds management = scum----from the top managementm to the sd'sm down to the managers.
- James 'Jim' CravenAnyone know what happened with this case:
http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2009/11/2 ... l_for_sexu.html - very old skool gds| 3 repliesWell, what an incredibly long read that was.
I am a very old ex GDS employee with no grudges and no axe to grind. My 2 and 1/2 years there were mostly enjoyable and I liked most of the people, with the exception of Christian {sorry Spence}.
Anyone who says they think it's 100 percent above board is not naive - just lying through their teeth {maybe most publications are the same?}. Everyone who works there knows what it's about sooner or later and either continues to make money or leave. It is what it is.
I remember when I first started, Spence asked me if I was a gambling man. He then asked me to call heads or tails on a coin toss. I called heads and won and he told me I was hired. Professional? no. Hilarious? absolutely.
Spence, maybe the people around you are only saying what they think you want to hear, so I'll tell it to you straight as best I see it...
It look's like time to go fully legit or bail out.
You were always good with me and I haven't got a bad word to say about you. No-one's disputing the 'tactics' of the sales people and we all know about the circulation. Use the money you've made to start something more sustainable {maybe you already are}. You've done exceptionally well but the model was never designed to last... surely?
So who am I to tell you what to do? someone who likes and respects you and wants you to hear a genuine opinion and not just that of those who are vying for your favour.
As for the current GDS employees... for the love of god stop posting. You are young idiots {like I probably was} who have had their egos over inflated. Try and pretend that you really are top flight executives not trumped up nobodies in cheap pin striped suits and start posting like pros not hoodlums.
Spence. You're a clever guy with an knack for making money and I wish you all the best. I had some of the best times of my life working for you and I will cherish those memories.
Hi to all the old employees who remember the pub at the bottom of Christmas Steps and little Phil. - Spencer replies to very old skool gds| 1 replyWell said!

- former NY gdswhats going on in the ny office? i was there for about a year and its sad, but very true that every word on this site is true.
all LIES!!
is rob still there? sugsy? damien? i hope they have moved on.... - ClientAttended the Next Generation Oil & Gas Summitt..Wished I would have read into the company a bit more. Was promised a tailored list of attendees, however, upon arrival, realized that none of the "scheduled" attendees were going to be part of the summitt. Throughout the summitt, all the attendees confirmed they had been reached within 2 - 3 weeks prior to the event and had no idea what the expo was about. While in the expo, none of the GDS organizers would confirm what the issues were and after the summitt, obviously, there are no return calls...from experience, make sure you do not attend any of their events and make sure to spread to anyone you might know.
- ThankfulGot a call today about the Next Gen utility conference. Person (called himself Michael Lynch) let on that they were with the US Dept of Energy. For about the first 10 minutes it looked like they were a consulting company with the DOE that wanted to partner with us on a project for Southern Company. Eventually it came out that they were selling spots at a conference. Well sort of...when I asked him to quickly explain what they were looking to sell (he had wasted 15 minutes of my time at that point) he replied f*** yourself and hung up. What a professional organization. I am thankful that this blog lets me know more about the organization and to make sure that we never do busienss with this organization.
- Caller: GDS\Next Gen
- Call type: Telemarketer
- k| 5 repliesMarcus evans, Gds, Naseba - all selling [***] that achieves absolutely nothing! All who work hear should be flogged pubicly before being buggered a rabid camel!!!!
- Big Deal replies to k| 4 repliesWell,
This is entertaining to say the least.
GDS is an advertising company that uses high pressure sales techniques to win business whats the big deal?
Whats the big deal in lying to secretaries to get a decision maker on the phone when they would quite happily lie to salespeople about their boss being busy/in a meeting/etc?
Whats the big deal that some [***] work there its the same in every workplace?
Whats the big deal taking cash from multinationals that turn over millions of pounds/dollars per year before the guy after you does?
Whats the big deal in earning decent money just for being able to convince people that your product is the best?
If your clever enough you let the [***] wash over you,you do your 9-5 day and forget about the place until your there the next day.You earn a half decent basic wage and if you have the ability to sell you also make a nice commision also.
If gds was as corrupt as people think in this blog they woulda crashed and burned a long long time ago.
If you can sell id advise to check it out its not for everyone but i enjoy my time there, people are nice(mostly) and i laugh in my head at the [***] that goes on there.
This week is the week the decision makers HAVE to spend there budgets....
(*pokes mate next to me-uhhhhhh wasnt that last week?)
Guys get over it you dont have to like GDS tactics or even the company but its IS A LEGIT business model albeit with a little leway given to certain factoids.
oo.oo
And yes i am a current employee - lamet replies to Big Deal| 2 repliesYou and your company are the MAIN REASON THAT TELEMARKETING MUST BE COMPLETED OUTLAWED.
Your post shows the pure contempt you have for the people you are calling. Just ripoff anyone you can - that is
While earning a living is important resorting to this is the lowest of low. - ^^ replies to lamet| 1 replyHow does my post show contempt im just being real my friend.
Granted im sure not all companies operate the same i have worked in a few different sales environments and GDS is there on the intense side of the scale.
But lets consider this a major gas and eletricty supplier in the uk once told me whilst i was selling boiler insurance to there pre existing customers i should include in my pitch the stats of deaths that year in elderly people who were without heating.
I was pitching old ladies telling them if they didnt have insurance they were basically gambiling with their health.
This is from a company that makes millions per year and will continue for an extremly long time.
I dont feel bad for companies that advertise with us or go to our events beacuse they work. They serve the purpose and for every complaint im sure you can find an offical testomonial from one of our previous clients.
I dont see what the big deal is?Why are you so passionate about it?
Ex-employee or previous client?
Please state which and why you are so pissed...so i can understand your -internetzrage - ??????? replies to Big DealWhat is "legit", and please explain, about contacting a company then:
- mis-representing a) who you are
b) who you work for
c) how the product works
d) the audience or reach of the show or magazine
e) the information you send out
f) the results companies can expect
g) your experience in the market
h) the companies who are involved
i) the company who recommended you call
j) the people you claim to have onboard
k) how you found that company in the first place
l) the organisations who you claim to have backing from
m) the importance of the project in the first instance!
You know its a scam. You know the mags dont go out. You know the shows are a con. The whole thing is a sales office scam. Enjoy the place but dont call it legit - even with a bit of leeway. Its a business model of a con man.
Arent you posting on here and risking getting fired? Everyone has been told..... - try this if you want to complain
