I answered the phone and there was a foreigner with a heavy accent similar to the Asian Indians.  Through the delayed echo on the phone he commences to tell me that my husband had won $2,000.00 form the U. S. Tax Department and that he needed to verify information on my husband.  I became angry, letting him know that I already knew about this scam and to not call me anymore.  He continued to try to explain to me that my husband had actually won $2,000.00 from the government and that he only needed to verify his information.  I told me to not ever call again and hung up.

The first time they called me, two months ago, I listened to the entire spiel and took down notes, then called the bank that issued my Visa to report them (little good that did). I asked that first caller for a phone number to call them back to verify their offer, and here’s the number he gave me — 888-425-5874. Nothing for a couple weeks, then they started again. After many more calls (up to 6 a day!) I finally went hunting for my notes and called that number. The line is answered “At Home Rewards” it’s a company called Galleria (address: 9500 West Dodge Rd., Omaha NE 68114).

This is one of those companies that offers gift cards for other companies “at a discount” for a membership fee. Total rip-off. I had an acccount with them briefly a couple years ago, and thats why their representative on the phone told me that they could still call me and sell my number despite my national do-not-call listing — it’s what they call a “prior relationship.” I demanded that they immediately remove my name and number from their lists and was told it would take an outrageous time (can’t remember if it was 30 or 60 days, I was so mad at them).

So, now that we all know who it is, and have their name, address and phone number, what are we going to do? I searched on their most recent number hoping to find others with the same problem (they’re still calling me almost daily). I tried telling them to take me off their list, but they hang up and the calls kept coming. Then I tried asking them very nicely to talk to their supervisor, and they just hang up.

I get the same guy. He speaks with a very heavy Indian accent and tries to convince me he is with the US Tax Department and that since I've been a very good taxpayer (hahaha... my first clue it's a scam) that I've won $2,000.00.  I said "Great, send me my check"  he says he cannot send it through us mail that I need to give him my bank information.  Yeah right fella.. I'm that stupid.  I've hung up on him several times.  Told him to screw off several times.  He still calls back.. two or three times a day.

Sounded like an Indian (not native).  He called me on my cellphone which really irritates me.  I kept asking who he was and then he hung up or we were disconnected.

I got a call from the same number.  When they keep calling back even after being asked politely to be removed from their calling list.  So I keep a list of these callers and I just blow a sports whistle in the phone when I pick up their calls.  I don't get as many of those calls anymore. Maybe they are having hearing problems now!!  Are they going to come after me for that??? Doubt it!  Let them try. No means no and if they keep calling back this is what they get because after one time of saying no I consider their next call harrassment!!  I'm a "whistle blower!"

I got this call saveral times as well, but no body say something, sick of this call.

They called & claimed they are from the Federal Government & they wanted my tax ID number.  When I refused to give it, the guy on the phone was a real a** and turned sarcastic.

Between 9:49 and 11:06...an unknown number except area code 213 called my house.  Then a 508 471 1909 number called.  After doing my research...saw these postings and on another site...pissed.  I have not set up the voicemail on my phone yet...I don't think I will.  I only get these type of calls for a day or two and then no more....seems to me that the DNC Registry isn't working...

this number keeps calling me and hanging up on me. Sometimes this happens 3 times a day!!! I'm sick and tired of this!

I've received a few calls over the past few days from these peopl. How do we get them to stop calling us? Just a while ago they called me again (6:22pm 9-11-2008) and this time I picked the phone up and then disconnected.

So much for do not call lists!

Answer and tell them they reached the federal trade commission !

i have been getting calls for 4months from these people.it is a big scam and no one cares to help.i have called everyone and no one cares.they want more info. on these people well how am i am going to get info?i don't know this really sucks

They have called me 6 times within the last 5 mintues, Im trying to put my kids to bed.  When I did answer no one was on the line.  Im going to call the Dont not call list.

I received a call from this number my self and it was us superior court reminding me of a scheduled Jury court date I must attend to. This was a lagitimate call for me.

This number called in while I was in the middle of another phone call, around noon. It only beeped in twice, so I'm assuming they are the type of number that mass calls, and will stop calling if someone else answers. They did not leave a message.

I GOT THE CALL ON MY TTY THAT USES FOR THE DEAF PERSON I M WHICH I AM UNABLE TO HEAR VOICE OR NOT ABLE TO SPEAK THE ANSWER ON PHONE.  I USE
TTY.  PLEASE STOP THAT AND REMOVE MY NUMBER AS 812-637-9077.  I HAVE THE CALLER ID SHOWN YOUR NUMBER BUT NO NAME OR NOWHERE YOU CALLED FROM.
