I have gotten 14 calls from this number on my cell phone in the last two days! I called back and a younger woman answered the phone with just "hello" and then hung up.

I have gotten 14 calls from this number on my cell phone in the last two days! I called back and a younger woman answered the phone with just "hello" and then hung up. The area code is from California.

After getting numerous calls from this number, I called my cell phone provider and asked if there was a way to block the call.  They said YES - register the phone number with donotcall.gov.  They provided the number - 1-888-382-1222.  It takes approximately 31 days to take affect.  If after the 31 days passes and you continue to receive calls, you can file a complaint at donotcall.gove or at the 1-888-382-1222 number.

I got a phone call from GRANTS FOR CITIZENS and when I answered they hung-up. When I called back they acted like I'm the one that was interested in there service. they asked me what number I was calling from. I told her you tell me your the one that called me. She seem confused. I told her I was at work so I couldn't talk she insisted in getting a time that she could call back. I think this has something to do with a radio ad for free money... web-site neverpayitback.com... be aware... don't fill out anything on this site.

They called my wife today, she did not know who it was but was going to call them back because she has clients who live out of state as well as in FLA. I stopped her and said to waite until I check the number on-line... Glad I did!

Please take my advise and do the following.

1) Do not call back.

2) Never have your voice and name on your voice mail, use the standard
  automated greeting that uses your cellular number. This way they do not
  know if you are male or female, and they dont have your name.

3) If you have a flip phone do not have it to answer when you flip it open,
  this way you do not answer calls until you see who's calling.

4) Call the do not call list and report the call/s

5) Save the number and enter the contact name as being STOP STOP...
  This way when the phone rings and you see STOP STOP is calling you know
  not to answer.

On your home phone uses the automated answer and just tell everyone who you know that you have changed your greeting, if you feel it would be nessary to do so. Also write the harassing number/s on a tablet or sticky note and leave them next to the caller I.D.

I use to call a numbers until I found a wrong number message, I would record the message on a tape recorder and delete the part that repeted the number and then recorded the modified message as my greeting it worked great and everyone who knew me knew to leave a message after hearing the tone, most people just hanged up right away. I used the caller I.D. to see who called me and would return the call if I wanted to.

The only reason that I can come up with as to why they call and hang up is that they are seeing what numbers are good numbers and what numbers are out of service and then sell the good ones as a calling list, also the more info about the person at the number the better, once they hear your voice they know if you are male or female, but it is only my guess.

CALLS ONCE A DAY ON MY CELL PHONE.

This number has called 8 times today. rings twice and they hang up.

They've been calling me too. I've asked to be taken off the call list and they just hang up. When they do talk, I cannot understand them. How can this be legal?

ALREADY HAD 2 CALLS TODAY, I AM A POLICE OFFICER, MY NUMBER IS MY WORK CELL PHONE NUMBER NOT TO BE CALLED BY CON ARTISTS. I AM GOING TO LOOK INTO THIS AND FILE CHARGES IF NECESSARY.

i got a call this am promising govt. grant that they said i applied for on line, do not remember doing this............they asked for a credit card to pay shipping and handling charge 1.85, which i gave them, to send a package to me to explain the grants given.............i did this and now i am sorry i did, i will cancel my credit card and hope for the best, but these scams must be stopped.........................

The Global Research, Int.  calls me all the day long.  Today, I decided to answer the phone.  They hung up. So I contacted the phone company in their area and reported them as a scam.  I also contacted the Attorney General to the USA and the Attorney General in my state.

If you don't answer, they don't leave a message, and if you do answer, they hang up.

i recieve calls from this number every half an hour and no one's there..

Received call from this number yesterday (8.03.09) and same as the other i read on this article it rang three or four times, and if answer they hang-up. It is annoying, I think that's what they want to do annoyed us.

These people are driving me nuts! I pick the call up and they just hang up and when I call back they don't answer. I have no idea what they want! Ugh it's really pissing me off. If I get through to them I'm going to go crazy on them.  They literally call about 6-8 times a day. Is this really someone's job?

This number has called me 11 times today.  I answered once and they hung up.  They have called me several times over the last few weeks.  They never leave messages.  I am tired of the constant calls.  What can I do?

I have reciever 12 yes 12 calls in a little over 24 hours and have told 5 people to stop calling but do they no so i am reporting them to Mass Atty Generals office for harassment. Gooed luck out there
