The organization is identified as MCS (Mutual Consolidated Savings) www.mcsprograms.com
I asked about their charges and was told there is no charge to the customer. There was no explanation for a news article that claims the charge is $250 or $695 - I guess it may depend on what they think they can get away with.
I kept him on the line for 18 minutes with a combination of banal questions and putting him on hold. As unpleasant as that is, I think it is important to undermining the business model of an organization with a dubious value proposition that does not respect previous requests not to call again.- Caller: MCS

- jmlavoieI've been called by an automated machine. I used the opt out once and they still call me. I tried to talk to an attendee, and they drop the line twice. I finnally call the number to be opt out, and file a complaint to the CRTC (In canada it is illegal to call someone in the do not call list)

- FLR| 1 replyAuto warranty robocall (scam). I've been getting calls with this exact SAME recorded message on an almost daily basis for the past 2 months and have received them on occasion since spring of 2008.
They change the number that they call from (it's "spoofed") periodically.
Other #'s that I've gotten this call from include:
1-800-222-1111 (I received a total of 12 calls from this number).
603-656-4565
If you search Google for "auto warranty robocall" or "auto warranty phone scam" I'm sure you'll find considerable background info. - AshleyThis is the e-mail I sent to Mutual Consolidated Savings
At 12:45 PM Eastern time on December 26th 2008, I recieved an automated call from a company acting on behalf of MCS - Mutual Consolidated Savings. I pushed one to speak to a representative. The representative that I spoke to claimed that his name was Adam. I requested from Adam to be removed from the calling list he told me that in order for him to do that I would need to send him a christmas gift I asked him if he meant my number. He said "no I already have that what are you sending me for christmas? I will take your name off of the calling list once I have gotten my gift! " I then told this agent that it is against my religion to celebrate christmas and requested my number be removed from their calling list once again. He proceeded to ignore my request so I requested a manager. This Adam character told me that it would be a 5 minute wait until a manager was available and that I was being charged for the call. I told him that was fine and I would wait. He counted down every thrity seconds until a gentleman came on the phone who called himself James Anderson. He claimed to be a manager I requested that he remove my name from the calling list and explained the fiasco that I went through with the previous agent and that all that I wanted was for my number to be removed from the calling list he said "What? You want me to remove your clothes??" and proceeded to hang the phone up on me. My husband called this number back an spoke to a representative that claims that this will be taken care of however I thought you should have an idea as to what is happening to your company by the people you choose to have represent it. The number that called me is 213-537-1095 they claim to be in Dallas Texas, they go by your name MCS - Mutual Consolidated Savings and I was given your website www.mcsprogams.com I have filed a complaint with my local police station and will be doing further research as to whether or not I can sue the company for sexual harrasment. Further more I understand that all of the calls are recorded I suggest that you launch a full interal investigation. I also would like you to know that I have forwarded this to all of my friends so that they do not provide this company with their credit card numbers as I would not trust these people with my numbers any longer.- Caller: Mutual Consolidated Savings

- not to pleasedreceived a call from this number 2135371095. for the past 2 years or so have been receiving calls from this so called company claiming to be able to lower the interest rate on your visa or mastercard, this is the first time i was actually able to speak to somebody because normally its just a message on the machine or a hang up. i spoke with an agent and he said thank you for calling are you looking to lower your interest rate on your mastercard and your visa. I said "I don't have either and that I request for you to stop calling me" agent then didn't say anything and hung up the phone on me. I tried calling them back knowing that it was going to cost me money because it was a long distance number and phone rang twice then did a serious of beeps. Since then I have not been able to talk to anyone or get any company info. Just so that everyone knows, I work for a credit card company and if your company was able to lower your interest rate (apr), they would send you literature as well as possibly call you with information from that company so that you can call them back. THIS COMPANY CLAIMING TO BE ABLE TO LOWER YOUR APR, IS A SCAM, DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION STATING THAT YOU HAVE A CREDIT CARD. ALL THIS COMPANY NEEDS IS TO KNOW THAT YOU HAVE A CREDIT CARD, GET THE NUMBER(S) AND THE EXPIRY DATE AS WELL AS THE CODE THAT IS ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARD AND THEY CAN DUPLICATE YOUR CARD. SOME OF THE DUPLICATED CARDS DONT GET USED RIGHT AWAY. SCAM ARTISTS LIKE THIS COMPANY MAY GET ALL YOUR INFO, THEN 6 MONTHS DOWN THE ROAD.....BOOM THEY USE YOUR CARD AND THEY RACK IT UP. SOME MAY EVEN WAIT AS LITTLE AS 1 DAY TO USE IT. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO.
Thanks- Caller: not sure

- dona| 1 replyCalled on Sunday @ 5 PM to Canada????
Unwanted and unsolicited
Do not want them to call and have told them so in the past - FLR replies to FLROops - it was actually the "this is your credit card company" interest rate reduction scam. A prerecorded message (robocall).
- FLR replies to donaAs a Canadian, your best course of action is to file an official complaint with the CRTC. Even if you haven't yet registered yourself on the Canadian "National Do Not Call List" (DNCL), you can still file a complaint about this caller because it's a robocall (pre-recorded message). (Unsolicited) robocalls are illegal in both Canada and the US.
Here's the link for the Canadian DNCL: https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/index-eng
At left you can click "File a Complaint"; it's very easy and there is a special option for reporting unsolicited robocalls. As mentioned earlier, you can file this complaint EVEN IF you have NOT yet registered to be on the DNCL. - rosiethe asked info on credit card to lower interest rate

- JohnI got a call from this number on Jan 3rd, 2009 asking me to wait for an important message for card holders. I just hit the pound sign repeatedly and hang up. It seems to work OK...
Explanation
-----------
When you get one of them robot calls, there is usually a hesitation after you pick up and say hello. Apparently this dead time is to key the caller that someone has picked up the line and they have someone to talk to rather than no one there or an answering machine kicking in. Because telemarketers hate waiting. They prefer you wait. Well anyway, during the hesitation before the telemarketer picks up, hit the pound sign button on your phone repeatedly. For some reason, this instructs the computer that generated the call that it has reached a nonsensical line, fax line or something that is not worth pursuing. Hitting the pound key on your telephone repeatedly automatically drops your phone number from the call list for the line that initiated the call. No more calls from that number.

- Chrysta replies to Frustrated_phone_userI have received many calls from this number and also from another number 000-000-0000 which also appears on my caller ID. (I know it's the same company.) My dad had a very effective way of getting these calls to stop at his house. He told them he would call them back 100 times to every one of there calls. If they did not listen he called again. He is true to his word! This is not illegal to do. It ties up their lines and it's makes them VERY angry! Good luck all!
