Got this on caller id. My captel phone service block them from messages.

CID reads "Los Angeles CA" (probably spoofed).  They left no message.  Prior posters mentioned both diabetic supplies and supposed computer virus cleaning as callers.  Is this one branching out? I think the "Call Type" box below should have a choice for "Phishing."

Offered me a free back brace and asked me for my ss#. I gave it to him. Help me to stop this from going any further. He said his name is damon miller with code # 5071. He called from telephone # 213-992-5922. He promised me a free back brace. I am afraid he will use my ss# for fraudulant propuses. Thank you for helpking me.

Several of the wiser posters on here offer links on how to handle it as well. Contact Equifax, TransUnion, or Experience to put a fraud alert on your credit file.

After several seconds of silence, a female asked for "Mr. Michael." She seemed to have an Hispanic accent. I asked what was the reason for the call. She said something regarding back and knee pain. I said neither was an issue for me. She seemed surprised, and asked, again, about these pains. Again, I told her I have no such issues. She said, "Oh," then she rang off.

Called these people back, received "please hold the line for the next available representative".  No company name given, hung up.

Got a text message saying my AppleID had been suspended due to nonverification, but words were spelled wrong. Beware: SPAM

The caller claimed to be a DEA agent and said I had purchased drugs from a scam pharmacy, which I would never do. When asked to provide details of the purchase he became agitated and said I would be referred for prosecution and he would see me in court and then he hung up......
