Received a phone call (not the first one) from "Officer Brandon Jackson" from what sounded like a call center, from the "investigation department" of the "Hopkins Law Firm" which was about the only thing I could make out his accent was so bad.  Said he had a lawsuit that had been filed against my social security number (wtf?).  After asking him repeatedly who was suing my social security # he said it was an attept to collect on a debt to "USA Cash Advance".  He also had my full soc sec # & old bank info.  He kept saying over and over "have you never been sued before this is how it's done".  I told him I was a paralegal for 20 years and never heard of that and to explain it to me slooooowwwwwly so I could understand.  He sped up his speech and I could only make out vague threats that things were going to go very badly for me.  I told him I would take the matter up with USA Cash Advance and not to call me again.  If he calls me again I plan on letting him know I will hunt him down and lay a curse on him that will make his private parts shrivel up and infest him with fleas.  I can do that.

This is actually a PS to my first post -- a few weeks ago, about the same time the first post here appeared (May 7 or so) we lost the internet connection on our home PC.  Looks like our IP address was hijacked somehow & changed and then we changed it back to our real address.  Despite firewalls.  Our computer has been off & now the phone calls started.  Anyone else have this interesting problem?

Looks like this phone # is no longer in service.  Tried calling it back last night -- planned on saying "This is Wilford Brimley returning Officer Josey Wales' phone call".  Spoiled my fun when the call wouldn't go through.

This company has called my place of employment as well as my cell phone making threats that they are going to have me arrested. They even left my social security number on my work and cell voicemail. I filed a complaint with FTC under FDCPA but because I have no company name to offer them and no information other than a phone number, I don't think it will go very far. I work in collections and therefore I know that what they are doing is against the law. The issue is how to make the pay for it when they leave little information to identify themselves.

Officer Allen Walker has called my number 36 times in two days.  Leaving a message stating that he will send cops to my work and my door step at home to arrest me.  When i did answer the phone i asked him what company he was with and he stated that it is not important for me to know that information.  And he got very angry, cussing at me when I asked him questions.  I am sick of them calling me.

i just got a call from this number a mr. wilson and he wouldnt give me his information to report him, outsourced call that is a fraud.

what can u do to  theses people calling and threating u about going to jail and being sued

i have also calls alday from officer wilson and offiocer/lawyer austin jones telling me the police were going to come to my house and job and arrest me on the spot and i would have to go to court or pay right now to avoid all that.saying i have someone investigating me and i owe on a loan. what can be done

These people called yesterday while we weeren 't home and left the same kind of threatening msgs that were left on here. My husband is a correctional officer so it worried me and I couldn't figure out what they could possible want. I called him immediately at work and told him then this morning I called them back. It shows on my caller ID as Rockwell TX. Upon calling them this morning and asking to speak to a supervisor after I had already dealt with this man once. He became even more rude and said don't bother me with this and said that he was too busy to deal with us and he hope my husband enjoyed his time in jail. After the third time I asked what this was concerning he said a cash advance that he didn't pay back and I said he'd never had a cash advance and asked what company this was supposedly through and how much money it was supposedly for and where was the company located. WHen I was told not to worry about it that he was going to jail so then I got angry and said no he's not this is a fraud. The man then said that it didn't matter there was nothing we could do. Finally before we got off the phone he told me it was through US Credit or some crap. I am going to consult a lawyer and pursue this further.

Received my first call from this company today at work. They also have left voicemails saying that I have a lawsuit against me for an unpaid loan from 2011 from a company I've never heard of before. Of course like everyone else when I questioned/challenged them in regards to the situation they got upset and hung up. Oh but the accent that's what pissed me off the most. I hate talking to people with those thick middle eastern accents!!!! They can call as Mich as they want and threaten as much as they want. They aren't getting a penny from me!

i've be eting phone calls from this number saying i ow 245.00 to a a advance and i have never gotten a loan from temd they said if i dont pay it by tomorrow i will be arrsted tey had a foriegn acnt

They have been calling me at work and askin to speak to my manager and,i hace been,hanging up. Before that they were calling my cell n i let my lawyer talk to them n they hung up on him. They r bs scams they need to stop especially bothering me at work its ediculous.

I keep getting calls from these idiots saying I owe them money and they have threatened me with everything under the sun!  They even spout out my address and threaten to send someone to my house.  They sound like they are from Iraq or Iran, somewhere over there and they are very disrespectful...as I have read these reports on this site I tell them that I know they are scammers and to leave me the hell alone and that pisses them off worse.  I hope someone can stop these idiots!

I got a call about an hour ago and it was a man with a strong foreign accent. I got some calls last year with the same accent and it was a different phone number. This is beginning to aggrevate me. My lawyer has talked to them and ask for them to fax them some paperwork showing that I owed it and they said that my lawyer and me would have to just believe them that I owed it. They told me that I was going to be arrested if I did not pay it by tomorrow and then they went on to say that the attorney general was going to blacklist my social security number and then I was going to lose my lisence. First thing my mom works at the district attorney's office in my town and this can not happen. All it is even if you do owe it is a civil case and they cant just come and arrest you. These people need to be found and arrested for harrassment and for threatening. This is a terrorist act in my book because they are from another country and threatening us americans. I wished that someone could do something about it but they cant because they cant find them after they call you....just ignore these people they are not right and need help....

This person called my place of employment stating he was Jack Watson.  He also had a very heavy accent.  I always check this website before calling back.  He wished me luck.  Who can I report this number to.

I got a call from an officer james olson but I could barely understand him because he is indian with a thick accent. What indian do you know named James Olson? RED FLAG! he said if the guy I work with doesnt call them back they are coming tomorrow to arrest him. I found this forum and called "james olson" back and told him exactly what I found out about his scam and he hung up on me.

they called me cell and my work! left message about a lawsuit! called back and told them i contacted the law they hung up!

I just received the same call 3 times in a row.  
The first time I listened to most of his crap, then I just hung up

the 2nd time I told him, "dude I'm the most law abiding citizen anyone has ever seen,  I don't believe you.  Please stop calling me."  I hung up.

Then he called back,  I said "seriously, I will report this phone number and you to the FCC, don't call again.

so far so good, keeping my fingers crossed.  How did they get my cell #?  I never give it out to anyone??

My son received a call at work the week of May 21st stating to the manager that he had defrauded the shop-rite. My son was ill during that week and the manager told me about the call. I call the number that was left and I was told that my son was going to be arrested for a pay day loan to USA Cash Advance tomorrow (June 1, 2012) unless he paid back the loan.  I then called the police to asked their opinion on the matter and they wouldn't even call the number to find out what was going on. They told be it was a skam and Google the number and read the rest of the complaints.  Today June 1, 2012 I received a phone call from "Hopkins Law Firm" indiciating that I owe a payday loan. They wanted their money back or be arrested.

It is pretty bad when you no government agency or police department will help get this stop.

Did the police do anything?
