Received call today from this # 215-475-5149 - lots of talk in the background and "hello, hello".  Finally caller gave an incorrect business name and totally wrong address and spoke broken English and said, "okay, stay on the line so my supervisor can verify I talked to you"......I stayed on the line...he kept saying "are you still there" - "Yes, I am still here" and then pretty much the same voice said, "okay, do you have any questions" to which I replied, "I need clarification, I have no idea who you are or why you are calling we are done", to which the reply was "No, we are not done. What do you need clarify?"  I replied in a rather rough tone, "Your company called here, very difficult to understand accent, no idea why you are calling and then told to stay on line for supervisor to verify - we are on do not call list and do not wish to be bothered with this type of calls - this conversation is over", to which the person said, "we are not finished, you need to verify.."  I cut him off and said, "I have your number on caller ID and am reporting it.  Don't harass us again - we are not interested in whatever you have that's free", to which person said, "Oh, go right ahead, you do that, we will still call", to which I replied "Call again and you won't like the answers you get from my boss so  let me speak to a supervisor" to which person replied, "I am the owner".  I said "Find a new business, harassing people isn't productive - GO TO HELL" and I hung up.

This is ridiculous.  You try to be productive at work and get bothered by cold calls offering free listings on the internet, in the yellow pages, etc.  Wish there was a way to stop this - It's bad enough turning away pushy salesman at the door, but at least they don't return to the door.  These phone calls are annoying and I consider them harassment.

Very similar story as others here. I run a by-appointment-only bridal shop in a private wedding venue. They called and gave a name for a business that I'm pretty sure doesn't exist I said that they weren't located here, and then they wanted to verify our address. When I said that I don't publicly list our address and asked what this was for, I got some strange explanation about "Green Certification" and how this is "Very important to your business" and kept trying to get me to give her our address so they could give our "potential customers the correct information." If this is "so important" then why can't she explain what exactly she's calling about and the function it's serving? I asked her this and she asked for the manager or owner. When I told her I was the manager and the owner wasn't available, I was told that they would call later to speak to the owner. Apparently blowing them off doesn't do any good- how do I shake these guys?

The do not call list has become a joke.  I've been on the list since it started and I still get calls from idiots like this.  Telemarketer verbal spam, email spam, it's still spam.

yes they did my 16 yr old daughter the same way encouraging her to claim she was a co-owner of my husbands business and to say she was eighteen.  I called the number that is on this site 1-877-640-5958 and told them off they said they would cancel the account because i told them i had contacted the police.

call 1-877-640-5958 to stop the calls from searchgreen, the supervisor stopped these calls for me

Just answered this call as well. Attempted to sound as dis-interested as I could because they  had been calling for so long and did not know how to leave a message. Just called the 877-640-5958 number to cancel. Will see if it works

Please let us know if this works....if so, I'll do it, too.  They call my work number and since I'm the office manager, I pick up the phone.  It is very annoying.  Did I mention ... VERY?

i get calls from this number several times a day. i have told them more than once that i am not interested and that they have already called me that day. i stopped answering the phone when their number comes up, but they keep calling.

That just happened to me, I asked him several times to repeat the message because I wanted to hear what the recording was saying, finally he gave in and played the entire thing and it said that we would get charged 49.99 a month. I immediately said NO and hung up.

someone at this number wanted to up date my business.  they said that there will be no cost but i said i wasn't interested anyhow.  they continued to call and said that they were going to call anyway.

please make them stop...........

I just started getting calls from this number: 215-475-5149. They called me twice yesterday, three times today. I don't answer the phone when I see this number and they never leave a message. My number is on the Do Not Call List as well. I found these comments while I was doing a search for this number on line. All these comments are very helpful. These people calling are annoying lots of people and harassing many as well. I am not looking forward to this unnecessary annoying battle. I will look into blocking this number. How can people get away with this awful harassment??

I've been getting several calls a day from this number on both my home and business number. Never answer it.

They have been calling four or five times a day for the last few days. The first couple of times I picked up and said "hello" several times before someone actually responded. It was very hard to understand any of them. When they asked to verify our address I asked who was calling. I've had different answers (yellow pages and some green company) and they say "as our customer...". I told them that we were definitely not customers and to please stop calling. But they don't stop. Now I pick it up and don't say anything until I hear the line go dead.

Call repeatedly and leave messages on the answering machine that sound like this:

Hello, good morning!
*pause*
Hello?
*pause*
Is this *name of business* Photography?
*pause*

Before we had this phone number, it belonged to a photography studio. That was over six years ago and I'm about to go crazy with all these phone calls!!!

File complaints with your states Attorney General, they handle consumer complaints, You can do this online. If you are on a do not call list and they are calling they can be fined because only people doing surveys can call if you are on a do not call list , go to the do not call website and file a complaint because obviously they are not doing surveys. Also if they are trying to get you to say yes to charges, call your phone company and they can block charges from a secound party or everytime they call you, call the 1-877-640-5958 number above and ask to speak to the supervisor, maybe they will get tired of the calls lol

SignificantDetails (U) UNITED STATES: "Green Dot" Telephone Scam: As of 10JUN11, personnel aboard a US Marine Corps Facility received phone calls from a "foreign sounding" person describing themselves as a telemarketer from "Green Dot" in Philadelphia using phone number 215-475-5149. The caller solicited information during the phone calls pertaining to basic demographics, such as verification of zip codes and location of business. One of the telemarketers stated they conduct this survey annually.1


Actions Taken (U//FOUO) NCIS Comment: MTAC assesses with HIGH confidence that this telephonic solicitation is a scam. While there is no physical threat associated with these phone calls to the Department of the Navy, successful scams can be expensive. Open source research indicates this is a known, aggressive, and persistent organization with very poor telemarketing techniques and English language skills. The caller's goal is to get the call recipient to say "yes" at some point during the conversation through the use of very broad questions, which the company misrepresents as agreement to a service. This fraudulent act will be manifested in fees of $49.95, listed as 'Green Certification." DON personnel in receipt of similar business or professional calls are encouraged to refrain from saying "yes" at any point during the conversation, block calls from 215-475-5149 and 215-475-5469, block third-party charges to phone bills, and notify the nearest NCIS element of such activity.2,3 NCIS strongly encourages Navy and Marine Corps Commands to disseminate this information to DON personnel.
