I have gotten about 15 calls from random numbers this week. When I look them up I see it is Cap one. I KNOW their number is an 800 number. Not sure why these random numbers keep calling me. I told one the other day that I had just mad a payment. They asked for my account # -I told the foreign lady that I was NOT giving out my account numer- I am not sutpid! She hung up on me...HAS To be a scam or something right?

I keep getting this calls and they are coming from a land line based on my research, it is really annoying to keep getting this calls, i dont answer these calls so i dont know why they waste their time callin.

As someone who works in a call center, I can tell you that 1st Party Collectors (i.e. Capital One) are not required to stop calling when you tell them over the phone. You have to send a letter in writing. Also You can be called from 8am to 9pm 7 days a week via the Federal Government. If anyone tells you differently, they are wrong ;)

You know who im frustrated with, Discover. Cap one isnt to bad. Ive even explained to them how i cant do a certain auto withdraw becuase i dont get paid every two weeks. So they set it up for a one time which i agreed to and then kept nailing me after that knowing that money wouldnt be there and i was getting charge for insufficient funds. Discover has now called me at 8am, 830am, 930am, 10;54am noon... enough is enough..where does it go beyond where its harrassment...any advise? and im only 10 days late and i only owe 120 dollars but my employees are paid first, my distributors next then the owners get paid.. no compassion out there.. sorry to vent guys.

Another Capital One call from Linda.  I beleive this is a scam and has nothing to do with the company.

Called me three times today...a few days ago I received a message from a woman at capital one about "amazing new opportunities" and even though this number is different from that one, based on the reports above, it's definitely the same company.

Ridiculous that they try to harass people like this. If they call me multiple more times I will cancel my credit card with them.

they have called me three times today. I don't answer on an area code I don't know.  I looked the number up here and see it's Capital One. They left a message the other day with a different area code, wanting to know if I wanted a new card with a great interest rate.

I called these yahoo's back just now and they hung up on me.  They didn't even wait for me to speak. They said hello and ended the call. Losers.

I recieved two calls from this number on a Sunday morning and that Sunday afternoon, when i answered the second call the a machine said "this call is for you" then this guy called me by name and wanted a payment by phone, when i refused serveral times he said that he will call back another time. I felt very strange about this phone because whenever Capital One call their name and number aways display on my ID

I have gotten calls from numerous capital one numbers and now this one, too.  The first time that I actually answered when they called they asked for Erik which is my boyfriend's name.  Thinking maybe he had given out my number I said he's not available may I ask who is calling?  They responded Capital One, and I told them they have the wrong number (neither my boyfriend or I have capital one).  They responded "Oh isn't that funny you say it's the wrong number when you find out it is Capital One?"  It is a DEBT COLLECTOR that now thinks I am trying to dodge them!  I asked the last name of the Erik they are looking for and it is not the last name of my boyfriend...not even close!  But now they keep calling thinking I am trying to hide this Erik from the debt collectors!  How can I get them to stop calling??

Supposedly you can opt out of them calling you by calling this number, 1-888-817-2970. Though that only works if you have an account with them, and it takes a few weeks for your number to be removed. It's worth a shot, but seeing as I have no account with them, I'm not sure it'll work for me.

Received a call from them yesterday on my cell phone at 9:00 am and again today at 9:15 am, they have left a voicemail noting "Linda" from Capital One wants to make us aware of New Opportunities and I need to return this call today. I am current with my credit card and payments so not sure what this is in reference to. I was going to call but after reading the above posts I think I'll just ignore the calls.

I have absolutely nothing to do with Capitol One.  No cards, no accounts, nothing.....Yesterday they called my cell phone from a Tampa, FL number and today at approximately the same time they called from the PA number.   They leave no message.  They drive me insane.

I keep getting calls several different numbers and several now from 215-977-7223 and they now have left a voicemail noting "Linda" from Capital One wants to make us aware of New Opportunities and I need to return this call today.  I have emailed them and called them several times to make payment arrangements and they will no way help on their end.  They can bother you all they want and will not help you with any bail out!  I said what are you going to do about it come and kill me! I am only a few days late on the payment, first time this year and even paid some on the amount due and paid the late fee.  I still have about 20 days till it has been late over 30 days and they have to stick the blood hound dogs on you.  The thing also is that the hounds are all off shore people they have calling us.  If I am going to get hounded for a few days late on a payment at least if it was an American person calling me, Linda sounds American but is not, I could take it better.  Cap one is the problem if they hired Americans to call we could all have good jobs and not have to worry about using their credit card to have to buy TP!

I agree with you and the regulations also state that over 1 call per day is harrassment so if they call from one 800# then several alternate numbers they are getting around the 1 call per account per day rule.  Legal yes .... responsible and humane no but hey we live in a cruel world.

called and after a minute a person got on the line and would not say where they were from and when I asked a third time they hung up on me. Most likely a tel marketer but they still suck anyway. I used to have a cap 1 a while back so not sure if them or not. They are pirates and thieves do NOT do business with them or any credit card company. Credit is Slavery.

Kept getting same calls from cap one. Turns out I signed up for paperless and missed a payment. Paid immediately. Keep getting calls so I called back and told to disregard. But still get calls. I am coying these comments for all these cap one numbers and send complaint to state attorney geberal

This number just called me at 6:07am. WTF.  This has to be illegal!
