This rude woman called me from 216-393-8225 to tell me that I had a warrant out for my arrest. She gave me my "warrant ID #", told me that I had to call back at 216-393-0456 and take care of the matter, otherwise the sherrif would be there to pick me up and take me in. She asked for me by my maiden name.

I filed bankruptcy (under my maiden name), so if this is about something included in my bankruptcy, then they are in violation of the federal law. Once you have filed bankruptcy, they are not allowed to continue calling you to collect.

We need to contact the FCC, BBB and law enforcement about this. Do I need to investigate by calling them and seeing how much info they will give me, or should I just disregard this altogether?

I got a phone call from 216-373-1464 saying that I was being sued in civil court & when I asked by whom she said that she couldn't give me that information.  She simply said that I had to call another # - 216-393-0455 and speak to Casey Black & gave me my "summons" #.  She then mentioned that I could call at that time b/c she was in the office.  I then went ahead & called back, but could not get Ms. Black.  I got some other man who asked for my # & before he could say ANYTHING I said I wanted to know what this was for.  He then said it was about my Providian (WAMU) account from 2000, when I told him that was discharged 2 years ago in my chapter 7 bankruptcy he "put me on hold" which ended up me being hung up on.  I called back & this time Ms. Black answered the phone & she told me the same thing that a summons was issued for me b/c I was being sued in civil court & was also being charged with a class E felony for defrauding a creditor.  When I then told HER about my bankruptcy she "pulled it up" and said that Providian wasn't included.  When I told her I pulled my files & had in my hand that they were, she then said that Providian didn't accept the terms.  I told her that when a person files the bankruptcy they have to file a motion within 30-60 days of being notified of the bankruptcy in order to dispute it.  She then said that there's nothing that they could do now b/c the summons was already issued.  Well she got kind of nasty so I started to get a little nasty back - she hung up.  I then called my bankruptcy attorney and was told that he had a couple of other of his clients call with the same problems.  He assured me that if they did follow thru with this that they would be in violation of the federal bankruptcy laws, and that I could sue them.  He said that they are a slimey little group of people that they can't seem to pinpoint them and find their actual address.

After I got off the phone with him I called them back one more time to give them a little piece of their medicine and got a Devonna Cash - well I asked for their address & she then said that she wouldn't give me that information.  I said that they had already called me & what they had done was against the law & I wanted an address to send my letter to.  She hung up on me.  I was tempted to call back again, but didn't want any harrassment charges or anything.  LOL!

I also called my local sherriff's office & asked if there had been any warrants or anything & he told me no.  I'm going to call the Ohio BBB tomorrow instead of doing it on the internet - they said that there's action taken quicker at that point.  I did try to pull a report by their phone # and it lists TWO names with those phone #'s - Robert Goldstein & Associates and Worldwide somthing (the recording was too fast).  Well neither name has any complaints & says that it's too new.  PLEASE EVERYONE FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST THESE PEOPLE!!!

I also called Providian (WAMU) & talked to them about this & asked "who had my account" and they then told me Unifund.  Which is a WHOLE different shady company!!!  They didn't mention either of these companies.  I will tell you that Unifund has a different area code, but I only found out about Unifund when they showed up on my credit report!

Good luck everyone!  I hope that no one shows up on my doorstep, but if they do I WILL fight back!!!!

We were also contacted by this company.  Beware in fact!  Everyone here should contact the BBB and the numerous state agencies mentioned above.  I also agree that any "non-negative" comments on this blog were posted by these individuals.  They were also rude, unprofessional, threatning, and blatent liars who were fishing for info.  Beware!  They use words like "claims, summons, investigations, state department, suit, sheriff", and more to instill fear in all of us.   Please take a minute and report these jokers, they will eventually hust many people and deserve to be reported for their shady / rude / threatning actions.

HAD MANY CALLS FROM THIS AND OTHER #'S JUST LIKE IT. THIS TIME, THE MESSAGE LEFT SOUNDED LIKE A 12 YEAR OLD FEMALE CHILD'S VOICE WHO COULD NOT READ THE TEXT SHE HAD IN FRONT OF HER. SHE STUDDERED HER WORDS AND SPOKE IN A RELUCTANT TONE. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, IF THEY KNOW WHAT THE MEANING OF THE WORD IS.

They are actually calling my X girlfriend from over ten years ago. I had lived with her for a few months  back in the early 90's. Ironically we still call each other even though we are no longer together. She called me a few days ago and stated that someone called me and said there was a warrant for my arrest. They said I was in violation of a class E felony. This was from a credit card from about 8 or 9 years ago. She told them that i dont live there and to stop calling. They insisted if I didnt call them in the next 48 hrs they would be a warrant for my arrest. Today 8/22/07 they have called her three times and even called her a bit*h. This debt is passed the statute in my state. I am considiring calling state rep.

I just received a SECOND phone call from these people!  WILL THEY STOP!?!?!?  This time they used a different "case" number as they called it (my husband took the message) and when I called back it was them again!  I had already involved my bankruptcy attorney in this after the last call & well the rude woman that answered the phone when I called would NOT give me her name, said that I was a "professional debtor" and hung the phone up on me.  I called them back b/c I wanted to make sure that I gave them my bankruptcy attorneys phone # & directed them to call him since as they quoted on a previous phone call "have no rights under the bankruptcy law - people just think that they do" - well the 2nd time I called someone immediately hung up the phone.

I called back again after I ate dinner & got a Carmen Rodriguez (who was actually civil but I think knew that they were on THIN THIN ICE)she tried to explain to me the steps that are taken & how they end up with these cases & that some "fall thru the cracks" - I could tell they were recording my conversation as you could hear the beeps - so I let her know that I had filed a bankruptcy that has now been discharged for 2 years & that they need NOT call me again, verified that they had my attoryneys info & told them that they should not call me ever again & they needed to contact him.  BOY OH BOY OH BOY she sounded so shocked when I brought up all the "scare tactics" that they were using on the phone, she was playing stupid b/c she had to since it was being recorded!  BUT I HAD NAMES!!!! HA HA HA HA!!!!  So needless to say that warrant for my arrest or civil action suit have never appeared from the first call & the second call that wasn't mentioned since I didn't give them the chance.

DO NOT GIVE INTO THESE PEOPLE!!!!!  I am going to file a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office in Ohio AS WELL as the Better Business Bureau.  If anyone has anymore ideas as to who to contact LET ME KNOW!!!!  I contacted our local newstation that has an investgation group that helps people solve things with their clout.  SO I've started it there - if you're being harrassed by these people DO NOT forget to take it to the media.  They may not respond to your right away, but if they get enough emails they may expose these people for what they're really worth!!!!!!

I have been informed that the best thing to do is file a greivance with the Bar Association in the practicing state of the attorney that this company is saying that they represent.  There of course is more than one "Robert Goldstein".  My best guess is that it is the "Robert Goldstein" that has penalties agaist him for not keeping up with his countinuing Ed, and has already been fined from the Bar.  If anyone can verify this with the connections they have, then we all can file agaist him with the Bar for unfair, and unjust practice and hope the justice system will do us some good.

I recieved a call on my cell phone stating that the Voice Mail was for someone named Robin Boyd, gave the 216-393-0456 number and stated that She or her attorney should contact them immediately or risk legal action within 48 hours.  The "Investigator" gave the name of Jason Marks.  It sounded a bit too scammish to me so I put the phone number into my yahoo browser and came across this page.

I just got a call today from #216-393-0455. At first they called my mother and said thay were looking for me. The name left on the vm was Lisa Black. When I called their number I spoke to a Mark Bishop. I asked to speak to Lisa Black and was told he was handling her calls because she was not available. After repeating myself several times he finally found my name in his case files. When I asked him who he was working for I was told Robert Goldstein. He was a special investigator who handled the small amount debt cases because Attorney Goldstein was too busy with large amount cases. I was told a warrant was being issued because they had tried to serve me and could not locate me. I had moved from the place I was because it burned down. Basically I was told  that I was having charges filed against me for fraud and misrepresentation and failure to pay. They had pretty current info on me except my address. I was offered a settlement price and told him I could not pay. I am ill and not working and have a disability hearing coming up. Anyway, they asked what I could afford a month. I told him I guess I could pay $30.00 a month if I didn't gat some of my prescriptions filled. I was laughed at. I was told the least they would accept was 94.00 a month for 4 months with postdated checks for the 20th of each month. I was told that if I misseed a payment they could issue a warrant for me and also have to pay return fees, etc. I was so freaked out I agreed to pay that, although I don't know how I will. I They also said they would send me all the paper work, agreements, etc. over email. That sounds weird to me. The whole thing is weird.I do not know what to do. I don't have any money to go to an attorney. Evenwriting this is freaking me out agai. I got a jury summons from the federal courts. It came to the right place. Seems to me if they know where I am at why is this Investigations Dept. calling family to find me.
I also forgot to mention they said they could garnish whatever settlement I get from social security to recover their money. But in the meantime they would issue a warrant and have me in court and I would lose and take  what they offered and be glad for it.In this whole conversation he never said he was a debt collector, just a Investigator for the attorney Robert Goldstein

I called the BBB in Cleveland and had a very interesting chat with a person there. The address is a dummy address that This Robert Goldstein is operating from. They are lookinf for these people. They ask that anyone with any contact with this agency file a complaint not only with them but also with the FTC. They said the FTC does not investigate individual cases but when they have several they are known to pusue the complaints relentlessly. When I asked her about the Ohio bar association they said to give it a try but that may also be a dummy name, just like the address. Everyone whos has commented here give it a try. You can file all the complaints online.Hope this helps someone.

My sister is receiving calls from # 216-393-8223, slightly different number, alleging the same things as posted here.  Same name, Robert Goldstein, and same address / phone info for him.  Caller claims to be "Constance Fitzgerald."

Ohio Bar Association has no such attorney that I can find, although I don't know if you have to be member of their bar association to practice there.  Sounds like a scam -- I am helping my sister prepare a complaint against them.  Anyone interested in a class-action lawsuit??
