we recieved an email almost the same, didn't ask much about our product, was happy with any money figure we gave him. I don't think he even knew what he was buying, just wanted box sizes, and weight, and gave us a link to a shipping company. First of all a red flag came up as he is in south africa and he wanted heated  snow melting stair treads. Not sure how much snow is in south africa but I think if you have a legitimate business they would ask more questions. I hope nobody has fallen to these very stupid scammers, and if you did, you didn't do your homework with there broken english and lack of any common sense other than to buy a product with no information.haha!

The address he asked us to deliver to is the airport in Finland.  The flyer was weird.  The guy had a strong accent - I talked with him on the phone after quoting out his flyers.  He was abrupt and annoyed when I told him we had to check a few things before processing his payment.  Notice the location he's shipping to is in parentheses, like it said "(country goes here)."  These are clearly templates someone made to make the scam easier.  Don't we have anyone that will try to catch these people?  

I'm expecting a call back from him any time now.  I'm trying to figure out what to say to him.  Maybe I should tell him we've got an issue with the prints?  I'll need to meet with him to discuss?  I need him to process some Nigerian cash for me?

I had almost the exact same experience today and it shot a red flag up in my head since my friend lost a lot of money like this before and said it revolved around the specific courier they recomment.  I don't totally understand but the message I received is below:

Got an email to order 50 units of one of our items from Barry Buckner (barrybuckner37@yahoo.com) for an amount over 5k and he kept asking for a price without shipping. What tipped me off that something was not right was that he called from a number that said 326-564-6400. I looked this up and this area code does not exist. When he called, the only word I could understand was "email". I could also hear kids crying in the background. I kept saying that I could not understand him so he hung up.

I've already learned that you have to be very careful selling outside your country and you need to require that the shipping company have a base in your country and you need to verify they are legitimate. Once you do have proof that the shipping company is legitimate, make sure you have proof that the items were shipped in care of the said shipping company as this will be the only recourse you will have if they try to reverse the payment thru the credit card company. Sites like this are a great way to find out if it is a scam and this jerk uses the same scam over and over.

We also got a request for a quote for 140,000 brochures via email.  The quote was for around $5000.  Once I gave him the quote, this is what I got from the fellow that emailed me by the name of Baron Davis (baron.davis89@gmail.com):

"Thanks for your email. I am okay with the total cost and i'd like to proceed and finalize payment. The order is going to be picked up from your location when they're ready to ship. I want you to please kindly contact ZimLine Freight Co. at (zimlinefreightco@hotmail.com) and obtain a freight quote. They will carry out pick up when the order is ready to go. Clearly this is a scam (what international freight company uses hotmail for their email).  I'm guessing "Baron Davis" is Zim Line, they get they're money for the shipment, and we don't see a cent.  We don't do international business because of the risk so we weren't going to do it anyways, but now that I've seen all of your posts, our suspicions have been confirmed.  Thanks!

This is what I received via email.  This is after I had given him some costing.  So this is still going on. If it smells bad, it usually is.... and the original email smelt REALLY bad,.  "Bill Patrick" kept contacting me as soon as I replied to any of his requests, but as soon as I told him he would have to arrange his own shipping, not a word from him.  BEWARE out there.!!

I recieved this morning a message from a guy by the name of Barry Buckner.  He wanted to order some Masonry Saws.  I suppose the product I sell could be used for masonry but I do not believe they would be very good for that purpose.  He wanted to use a credit card for payment.  His english was not very good, I do not know where he is.  He checked my website and then wanted 600 units.  Nobody wants 600 of what I have.  Not at full price.  That is when I put barrybuckner37 into my search engine.  Lucky me.  I also got a message from Thomas Williams with a note that is almost word for word the same as the one I got from Barry.

I got a call from this number a person with the name of Derek Fletcher with heavy African accent and sounded fishy They want to buy some Electrical parts which is no problem but the fishy part is when they want to pay you and you pay the shipping Company in San Francisco up front (Labal Carriers Shipping Company Phone (970) 424-1807 ) which is a Magic Jack number and after I told them I can use my shipping company which is much cheaper they told me they will call me back you think they are going to call?

I got the same email... I got his credit card and it processed.  I know this is a scam, but how does he get money out of this deal...

Got this email from god knows who, and I see someone above also has rick barry as a scammer.  I think what they do to scam is process the stolen credit card/identity and then reverse the charges into their bank account as the shell company for the bs freight company they claim to use.  I remember I got a similar email and told them $50000 and they said sure and some fool in Ghana called me on my cell for payment, and asked me for a confirmation number which was of cource F-U-C-K-U-M-O-R-O-N-4... then I called the bank with the credit card was issued to let them know somebody in Florida was ripped off.  There was a baby crying in the background of the call and I called him an idiot at least 20 times and he didn't get phased.
