Phone rang, answered I said,
WHO ARE YOU,
WHAT DO YOU WANT,
YOUR Name is UNAVALIABLE,
there is silence & then they hang up.

We don't answer the home phone unless we know who's calling, so these calls go right to voicemail. This one is a recording of a female voice saying:

"... account. There are no problems currently with your account. It is urgent that you contact us concerning your eligibility for lowering your interest rate. Your eligibility expires shortly, so please consider this your final notice. Please press the number 1 now to speak to a live operator an lower your interest rate, or press the number 3 to discontinue further notices. Thank you. Have a great day."

Despite the "final notice", we've been getting this call at least once a week, usually more frequently, for the past several months.

no answer.i do not understand what it is. It is strange,that police cannot go after them.

They open with there is no problem with your credit card account at this moment, however you need to speak with them immediately and they will help to reduce the interest rate. This is not my card company and the calls come on a regular basis

Myself i just got a call from the number they didn't say anything just SILENCE... when i called the number back the number was suddenly not there...I guess it's a cell phone without voice messaging.

'Hello, this is Rachel at Cardholder Services...
Press 1 to speak to a representative, Press 3 to be delisted.'

which I did.  We'll see if it's effective or not.

sure looks like a spoofed caller-ID to me

Every day about 11:58 am we get a call from these people.  I tried pressing #3 to have our number removed from their list and was unsuccessful in this request. When I pressed #1 to speak to a "representative"  he hung up when I asked to have our name removed from the list.
When I answered I got a recording talking about 'your account' and this being my last chance to lower interest rates on my card account.  I am on the do not call list.

Caller-ID is easy enough to fake if you have a big phone system.  Anyone providing "fake" caller-ID like this to circumvent the do-not-call list is breaking the law.

You should call your phone company and complain.  They will tell you they can't do anything about it.  Tell them that's not good enough, and escalate your call as far up the management chain as you can.

We should not have to put up with this crap.

This number calls all day and when I answer out of curiousity I listen to a womans voice saying this is my lastchance to lower my credit card rate. Then to speak with a live Crook I am instructed to push 1. Now the Male Crook asks me if I want to lower my interst rate on my credit cards and I inform him that I have never owned a credit card and then he hangs up in my Ear.

Well these people claim they can help you reduce your credit card rate.
The problem I had with this is I've never had a credit card in my life.  
I learnt there are a number of other toll free numbers you can call to have this stoped.  Mutual Consolidated Services is a scam probably working for
Collection Agencies and Telemarketers. The numbers to have them stop calling you are as follows: 1-877-891-1348, 1-800-943-3250, 1-888-878-1014.
But be very careful if you call one of these numbers.
I DIALED *67 (TO HIDE MY #) BUT THAT DID NOT WORK.
I FOUND OUT THEY HAVE THE EQUIPMENT TO "OVERRIDE" THIS.
AFTER I USED *67 THEN DIALED THERE #, THE WOMAN (IN A RUDE MANNER)
TOLD ME THE NUMBER I WAS CALLING FROM (MY #).
THEY AND MANY OTHER CO's CAN OVERRIDE *67, SO BE CAREFUL NOW!!!
JUST USE A PAYPHONE WHICH COSTS NOTHING FOR TOLLFREE NUMBERS!
Drive them crazy, just like what they do to us.......

I keep getting calls (almost daily) from this number but they never leave a message. I have never answered the phone when they call. They just called again. Sunday nite, January 25 at 8:20 p.m. I'd really like to know how to stop this. I too, put my name on the no call list and yet I continuously receive calls from unknown numbers like this. I just don't pick up but it is very frustrating and I'm fed-up.

does anyone know the companies name.  I was also threatened!

These numbers are all linked and they all share your personal
info. DO NOT CALL FROM YOUR WORK OR HOME NUMBERS. *67
(to block your number) does not work with these people.
They will still know the number you are calling from.
USE A PAYPHONE IF YOU WISH TO CALL THEM BACK. And remember,
Do not call lists and The National "Do Not Call List"
does not work at all !

1-234-567-8900 is MCS (Mutual Consolidated Services), a credit card
rate reduction outfit. They have other numbers; 1-888-878-1014,
1-800-943-3250, 1-877-891-1348 that should not be contacted using your
home or work phone numbers! No matter what you do, 'They will Know"
which number you are calling from! Use another number, such as a local
Payphone if you do want to call them. They are linked too...
1-877-503-2115 which is CBCL (Canadian Bonded Credits), a collection agency.
And 1-866-294-1752 which is IQOR, the same collection agency with new name.

Important Note if you do owe money. All these companies share your personal
information. This includes; Your Full Name, Your Address, Your City, Your
Postal Code, Your Place Of Emplyoment, All Your Contact Phone Numbers
(Home, Cell & Work), and most important, the amount of money you owe and to
whom you owe it! Private tests have been conducted With These Collection
Agencies. Impersonaters have called requesting info on the amount of money
owed. On numerous occasions (recorded calls) this information was freely
given out by the employees of these collection agencies without forthought.
Personal info was given out every time, when it shouldn't of been because
they were not really talking to the person who has the debit.

Another Note: The National "Do Not Call List" does not work. In fact, it
helps make the problem worse! As you all have heard in the news, these
lists are being sold and swaped with all these types of agencies.

Received a call just before noon EST and the caller display read out 1-234-567-8900. I didn't answer it and no one left a message.  The call came in again and this time it was a friend of mine who was calling from overseas using a calling card.  However, it is a number that is used from offshore and is used sometimes as a telemarker scheme from overseas as in the case of a relative of mine who received a call from someone with a heavy accent and went on to try and sell them something...Be weary of those incoming calls and if you can wait until your machine picks it up and listen if it is in fact from a caller using a calling card that you may know.

Recorded message saying that it was an urgent call from my credit card company.  It did not say the name of the credit card company.  It continued to say that it is urgent that I call back.  I did not wait for a call back number.  I hung up.

Keep getting calls from this number- nobody is ever there, always some static noise and then disconnects

Got this one on answering machine yesterday again, no message just a hang up.
