Left a message offering business loans

when I answered a recording told me "I'm sorry, I must have the wrong number"

7:46 PM Eastern time, prerecorded message left on office voicemail.

Called themselves "Capital for Merchants" and said to call them back at 866-404-0428.

Scum sucking telemarketers without the decency to hire a human being!

Called and said got wrong number. Was a recording.

They called Sunday night - and when I answered, they did the "sorry, wrong number routine." If they're trying to sell something, which they obviously are, and someone actually answers the phone, why don't they talk instead of the phony wrong number response???

recorded female voice says "sorry, I must have dialed the wrong number".
so I said, "how do you know that?, all I said was 'hello'"
and there was no response, which is when I figured out it was a recording.
I am on both the National and the Wisconsin 'no-call' list, but even still, I try to be patient with tele-marketers, I just say "please put me on your do not call list" and they say "OK", and we both hang up; not a big deal.
but how do I do that with these *%#&% scum who won't even stay on the line?
are they going to keep calling? over and over? until they get an answering machine?

I also got a "sorry wrong number" call from this number.  I am not listed and am on all the DNC registries.  I am so sick of these people.

Rec'd a late night junk marketing ph call from 248-283-6062, recognized the "248-283" portion, did not answer. Nothing in voice jail either. Dirtbags calling at this hour of the night should be shot. - [8:56 pm]

"Sorry wrong number."  I think they have an autodialer for their sales reps that dials more than one number at a time under the assumption that most of the calls will go unanswered, go to vmail, or to an answering machine.  If they get more than one real person answering the sales rep talks to one and the autodialer issues the fake apology and hangs up on the other.

Left a recorded message on our business line, saying, "I'm sorry, I must have called the wrong number."

8:35 p.m. June 4, 2008.   Female voice caller stated:  "I'm sorry, I must have called the wrong number" and hung up on me.

I get numberous calls from this number and one similar to it that is also Capital for Merchants with a caller ID of North American.  I have reported them to the Do Not Call registry and also emailed customer service of Capital for Merchants.  I have the number of an old coffee shop but this is currently a private residence number.

It is a recorded message telling me to push 1.  I'm not ready to risk my phone bill doing so.

They are trying to get you to call them back so they can go around the "Do Not Call List"  Once you call them they are free to call you.

This company does not want to talk to you. They are one of the biggest
phone number resellers around. When you answer the phone that just tells them someone is there. Then they turn around and sell it on their active answer list. Sometimes within minutes. Even if you tell them not to call nothing stops them from selling your number, or  even calling you back from one of their many companies.

Did more research, and note that YOU are their commodity. By answering the phone, you valid a live person on a legit phone number. In short order, sometimes within minutes, another company is calling you right back with dirt-bag marketing. Last time this jerks called at 8:56 pm. This time the sleazeballs called at 8:29 pm. NEVER ANSWER THIS NUMBER -- OTHERWISE YOU JUST VALIDATED YOURSELF TO BE SOLD ON JUNK CALL LISTS

Just got the call.  I didn't answer because it was a work cellphone and I knew no one was at work at 8:30 pm on Sunday night.  Don't know why they would call my number like that.
