Received a call, stating I won a Free $9000 Grant from the US Government Grant department, for not having any felonies, paying my taxes on time, and not having any loans in the last six months.  Had my name and address, email address as well.  The number was "Unavailable".  Asian accent, wanted my bank account, or debit or credit card numbers.

Did give me a name, Mike Taylor, Xt 13230, at 253-656-4757........ Scam ??....

I too received a similar call about a free $9000 grant from the US Gov't. Gave me a control # and a phone # to call. Did not ask for my banking info, and stated I would receive this grant via Western Union or MoneyGram. The # he told me to call was 253-656-4757. Also interested in finding out if it is a scam.

Things to believe:

• There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.
• If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
• You have not won big bucks from a benign benefactor, a pot of pesos from PCH, dinero from a doctor, a car from a caller, or a grant from a gracious government    ◄- ◄- ◄- ◄- ◄-
• The tooth fairy really does not exist
• Everything you read on the internet is not necessarily true.
• It is illegal to ask for money for a loan or prize, before awarding the loan or prize!
• "Free Trips" are loaded with mandatory & costly extras, and you usually must give them your card number after listening to a loooong spiel at a hotel.
• Microsoft or a different famous software company, or one of their agents did NOT cold call you to fix your computer.
• The moon is not made of green cheese.
• The IRS will snailmail you, rather than phone you, if there is a problem.
• Jackalope milk is not an aphrodisiac.
• If you Vanilla Card, MoneyGram or Western Union money to a scammer, the money is gone.
• You should beware of Geeks bearing gifts, specially if the gift is a wooden horse with termites, or a statement that your computer is infected.
• 876 is NOT your lucky number, and it will cost you money to call that area code!
• The number you see on your Caller ID may not be the number of the person who called you!

Got the same call as everyone, not asking for any personal info just said a fee was required to obtain the 9000$ grant... Guys name Jaden Dodson ext 701

Told him I wasn't comfortable sending money his response was Google TANF and if it sounds legit call him back

Received a call from this number wanting me to pay $195 to them for IRS taxes because I work.  No one speaks english well.  After several hangups on my end and telling them I would call the police, I received a message from "Charlie Parker" who has an oriental accent telling me he was kidding, he was laughing and saying he just wanted to know how I was and that he thought I was nice and that he loves me and made a kissing sound and said goodbye.

We got a good laugh at the office...since they somehow got my direct line at work.

I also recieved this call, the first time they asked me for my bank acc number so i said i didnt have one, They hanged up. Second time they didnt ask for any information but they gave me my name and mailing address right. They told me it was from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. This sound pretty much of a lie to deposit 225 dlls on moneygram. First calls were really noisy and nobody speaks English well, they gave me 2 supervisors name: Christopher & Victor. They also gave me this confirmation number: NY227

I got the same call telling me I had $9000 for paying my taxes on time, etc. They had all my info and did not ask for my bank account #. Has any one called 253-656-4757 yet?

Yes early in the morning Oct.13 here in statute of hawaii one lady voice call me she told me that rundom selected my name that I was qualified for u.s. federal grant of $9,110.00 that no obligation to pay back in the government. But I have to send $210. First for taxes but I told him I have no money because I don't have a job. He told me to go to Walmart and send to western union when I'm ready.

I too received a call from number 2536564757 that said I qualified for u.s federal grant of 9000 that no obligation to pay back to the government but i have to send 210 through western union. His name was James Dawson ext. 1725 from Washington D.C.... is it a scam...
