• "Free Trips" are loaded with mandatory & costly extras, and you usually must give them your card number after listening to a loooong spiel at a hotel.
• Microsoft or one of their agents did NOT cold call you to fix your computer.
• The moon is not made of green cheese.
• The IRS will snailmail you, rather than phone you, if there is a problem.
• Jackalope milk is not an aphrodisiac.
• If you "green dot", MoneyGram or Western Union money to a scammer, the money is gone.
• You should beware of Greeks bearing gifts, specially if the gift is a wooden horse with termites.
• 876 is NOT your lucky number, and it will cost you money to call that area code!

Pure scam

My son answered this call when I got home and when I check the caller history they called six times earlier and most of the times they would hide their number, and the woman who was talking kept talking in Spanish even though I only speak English and some Italian, so the other day my son answered and his Spanish speaking friend, answered and the lady offered us a 500 minute calling card. So my son's friend pulled out his phone and played high pitch noises, immediately the woman called back and in Spanish yelled "Mr, Di Alvaro? Are you insane? Why did you play that noise?" It made my day!

Will not answer when you ask them to put you on the do not call list.

Caller flat-out refused to remove me from list and kept trying to sell me something. Started to crank call me because I was "being rude." When supervisor got on call, she said it would take 10 minutes to "review my information and confirm deletion." SCAM. Told them absolutely not. All they had to do was remove my phone number from their system. Supervisor said that since I "refused to comply" they'd keep my number on file. FTC asks that you report them (open a case file)  I did it. Takes 5 minutes. Also, contact your phone carrier so that they can open case file. THEN block number.
