This happened to me as well. I didn't answer it and it would not let me call back.

I received a call from this number.  I did not call back because I do not know who this is.

I recieved a call from 261229600195, but I missed the call.  I came on here to see where the area code was from and I saw the comments.  So strange that you couldn't call back.  I'm not even gonna try.

called back and got a recording for a few bit that just kept saying hold on blah blah blah

I received a call Friday 5/16 at 5:04PM from +261229600193 and another Sunday 5/18 from +261229600414. The phone only rang once and were recorded as missed calls. I called my cell phone provider this morning and he wasn't able to trace the calls but said not to worry about them and that I wouldn't be charged any international long distance charges even if I had managed to answer. He believed that they were both automated random dialing calls. I have since found out that the country code +261 is Madagascar. DO NOT CALL BACK. That will generate an international long distance charge to Madagascar!!!!

phone rang at 1:55am and woke me.  No one when I picked up.

Okay, like you guys, I just received a call from 261229600193, and I answered it.  There was no one on the other end.  I did a Google search and found my way here.  

I remember getting a call like this before.  Don't think it'd be a good idea to return the call.  Rather annoying...

I got a one-ring call from +261229600415 on 18 May 2008 [11.13a EST] and a one-ring call from +261229600193 on 04 June 2008 [6.02p EST].  I didn't have a chance to answer either of them, they didn't leave any message and I didn't call back.  Google search led me here.

Same here. I just got the same call, missed and no message was left. I got AT&T. Is this something we all have in common?

I just received a call from +26122900194 (I occasionally get international calls). I did answer and after a moment of silence there was a ringing tone. I waited a few rings and hung up before there was any answer.


I wonder if it is a scam where they can figure out how to charge you back for a return call? I am also on AT&T.

I just got a call as well - only rang once, did a google search and found my way here. Also T-mobile.
I had calls like this about a year ago from some other European or African country, I can't remember specifically  - they did eventually stop after about 2 weeks of a total of about 10 "missed" calls. I never answered.
