I get lots of calls from this number, multiple times a day,  but I never answer.  Just a waste of time!

Caller ID says "Name Not Found" with a busy call center and chatter in the background.  The male voice had an accent of a foreign language speaker asking for me by name.  Blocked based on prior responses cataloged above.

    Cell Phone Spam
Step 1    Visit the FCC's Web page for complaint form 1088G (see resources).
Step 2    Type your company's name and address into the form to file on behalf of the company, or use your own name to file individually. Click "Next."
Step 3    Enter the phone number that received the spam and the time you got the message.
Step 4    Use the drop-down menus in sections two and four to provide information about your phone and the type of message you received.
Step 5    Fill out all the information you know about the sender in sections five through seven.
Step 6    Pick answers to the questions in sections eight through 16. These questions verify that the message you received actually violates the CAN-SPAM act.
Step 7    Sign the form by typing your name, phone number and the date at the bottom of the page and checking the "EXECUTE" box. Click "Submit Form" to send the complaint.

How to Report a Violation of the CAN-SPAM Act
Report Spam by Forwarding  unwanted or deceptive messages to:
•the Federal Trade Commission at spam@uce.gov. Be sure to include the complete spam email.
At the top of the message, state that you're complaining about being spammed.
When dealing with spam at your company, often the best prevention comes from internal changes: enacting stronger filters on your email and ensuring employees keep their accounts secure. However, if you believe a spammer is acting against the CAN-SPAM Act, sending out unsolicited advertisements to cell phones, you can file a complaint with the FCC. If a company violates the act by refusing to unsubscribe recipients from email messages on request, you can file with the FTC. Note that the FTC does not resolve individual complaints, but stores all complaint data for use by law enforcement.

    Email Violations
Step 1    Visit the FTC's Complaint Assistant website (see resources).
Step 2    Fill out your contact information and press "Next," then pick whether you're in the military and click "Next" again. At any point during the complaint, you can skip filling out a piece of information if you don't know the answer or it isn't relevant to your complaint.
Step 3    Click "Email Spam" to select the type of complaint. This will direct you to pick subcategories for your complaint, such as "I can't opt out of receiving e-mails from this company." Select as many as apply and press "Next."
Step 4    Press "Yes" if you know any identifying information about the spammer, and then enter it in the form. Otherwise, select "No."
Step 5     Fill out the requested information about the messages you received. Since many of the options may not apply to spam mail, such as "How much did the company ask you to pay," leave them blank as needed. Press "Next" when finished.
Step 6    Enter the personal information about the person who received the message, if it differs from the contact information you entered earlier. Click "Next."
Step 7    Type in any additional information your want to report. Press "Next" to reach the review screen. Confirm all the information you entered and click "Submit."

    Tip
In addition to using the online 1088G form, you can also print a complaint form from the FCC's website to send by mail or fax.

Your  L  O  N  G   post is useless, as the callers are from overseas, and using spoofed numbers, but if what you advise makes you feel better, go ahead.

Called this morning.  Caller ID said "Unknown Name."  261" is not an area code in the USA (or North America), it's the country code for the island of Madagascar.  I see from here it's another Microsoft Scam. I will block this number.

If you use a smartphone capable of running a decently up to date version of android you can use an android app to bock calls based on caller id information. If the offenders spoof a different number you can simply adapt and add that new spoofed number to your blacklist. Their are a number of these call block software's on google play and a great Motorola smartphone only costs around $49.99 and if cared for let's just say they last a long time. I just got set up with my cell phone and it blocks calls correctly exactly. previous to this I was using a dedicated older desktop PC with old voice mail software to make a password protected land line phone number without it even needing caller id (although caller id would make it mostly if not entirely transparent in the blocking department, and the hardware wold easily support caller id). land line caller id is expensive and I wanted to not play for it. It worked great for 7 something years but I noticed an increasing number of people refused to press "1" to leave a message or enter a pass-number - they just would hang up either too scared of a few numbers or too lazy, I don't know. Cell phone service these days in most areas is not more costly than land lines and I now have a transparent way of blocking calls, among other things. I could have got the transparency with my land line and caller id but for the same cost I got a cell phone service for the "extras" land lines do not have. And our land line gave poor service when the ground was wet / saturated with water, it would always have warped sound with a  hum then and it looks like phone companies are moving away from wired service seemingly letting the wired land line infrastructure rot (water damage in wires in the ground.). I tried getting the phone company to fix the hum, etc., I would call the phone company about the hum, etc,  and days later after the ground dried out they would come by and do nothing and say they fixed it and that I would have to subscribe to an insurance plan if I wanted them to “make me happy” with my land line service, all at extra cost except for the result less technical visits. Cell phones are immune to that as far as I know. I checked my call block blacklist software log and have seen 3 calls from 261-508-4801 and they were exactly blocked. Good luck all and heed this advice!

Whoever this is changes phone numbers now and then.  This Microsoft scam has called me from at least 6 different numbers and area codes.  It does sound as if it is a large room full of callers all speaking with a thick Indian accent, male and female.  Both have called me.  Today's call  said NAME NOT FOUND on caller ID.  I did not answer.  This is the latest number they are using.  Such sorry scum with nothing better to do than to try to steal from innocent people.  I hope no one falls for their trickery.  I have been called from this number at least twice a day for about a week now.

Got a call from this joker who told me my computer would be blocked if I did not allow him to "fix" it.  Blocked from what?  SCAM!  Report them but that will probably only make them change their number.  DO NOT LET THEM "FIX" ANYTHING!!!!

Receive a call from (261) 508-4801 and was told by an eastern accented male that my computer security was a problem, to which I told him to remove me from his call list and hung up.  I was called then by (512) 574-000 and another eastern accented male tried to tell me the same thing and yelled at me when I tried to tell him to remove me from his call list.  Unbelieveable!
