They keep calling my cell phone. five times in 20min. leaving no message

They keep calling, so I started singing "The Lonely Goatherd" from the Sound of Music.  Pretty damn effective.

If you have an i phone just hit the little circle with an i in it icon and when the screen opens at the bottom of the list there is an option to block caller. Pick that option and your phone will never ring again unless you physically unblock it.
Sprint also has a place in your online preferences for your account where you can enter phone numbers to block permanently.

Received two private number calls back to back.  I answered the second and hung up as no one was yhere.  Wuthin a minute i got a call from 267 -973-6174 saying it was a pa cell phone.  When i answered i heard two calls and the call was obviously being redirected.  A foreign person said he was asking about my loan application.  I knew immediately it was a fraud, told him so and hung up.  When i tried to autovredial, it called a different number within my area code, and the person said they knew nothing about it,.  A little while later i got another call from this number with a different foreign man asking forsomeone w an asian name about his loan application.  I immediately told him i was reporting to the FTC and he panicked and hung up.  Wheni redialed, i got thesame localperonwhich was very interesting.  Will file report w ftc when they open on mondy.  Learly a scam. Probably the same group thtwascsing ake illinois ids a while ago.

I received a call from 267-9736174, 836-797-7519, 595-636-0010, 4952349532, 8996848353, 2162780121, 7259925715, 3024148632, 5333390973, 15326884205, 3478273546, and 30339638010.  All reported that were calling because I applied for a payday loan, which is untrue.  I have received calls from both American men and men with a Middle Eastern accent.  I have threated to report them to the police, however they still keep calling.  Today I received two calls from different numbers in a matter of minutes.  Does anyone have any advice on how to report them?

I have gotten 22 calls from this number. DON'T CALL THEM BACK!

That's the warning from the Better Business Bureau. The BBB says this is a new type of cramming scam that is targeting people across the country.

They call it the "One-Ring" scam.

The scammers behind it don't care about the Do Not Call list, so being on that list won't help you, according to the BBB:
“It is a new take on an old scam, so we are familiar with this type of thing, but the one-ring scam is brand new,”
Better Business Bureau Spokesman Aaron Reese said.

How it Works

The BBB says this is how the One-Ring Scam works:

-Scammers from outside the country are robocalling cellphones at random.
-Your phone will ring once, then stop. When you answer, no one is there.
-If you are curious and call it back, you are charged as much as $20 for an international call.
-You may also be charged a monthly fee for joining some club you know nothing about. By calling the number, you "authorize" them to place a fee on your cell phone bill.

“They make money by operating in other countries where their laws about phone usage and toll free calls are not exactly the same, they're not uniform,” Reese said. “So when you call these numbers back you get a caller-initiated fee, it works just like a 900 number. You're getting charged $19.95 up front, and $9 every additional minute.”

Jenny Vergara, a food writer based in Kansas City, nearly became a victim of the scam Thursday afternoon.

“It was almost like a half ring on my phone. It was enough of a sound that I looked over at my screen and when I saw Antigua I thought; ‘huh.’ And about the time I was thinking ‘I wonder what that could be,’ it just dropped,” Vergara said of a call she received from a number based in the Caribbean island of Antigua

What to Do

The Better Business Bureau says to protect yourself, do not call back any unknown callers on your cell phone, especially if they are not in your local area code.

If you are curious, Google the phone number. If it is legitimate business, your doctor's office, or your insurance company, you will find that out right away on Google. But resist the urge to call back.

They have called my phone seven times in a hour I'm at work this is crazy I call back and no one picks up and it stay all circuits r busy  who is this something need to be done!!!!!

They called and I put them on mute so they hung up. I have indian scammers calling me multiple times a day and I always report it to the FCC. They will stop calling for a few weeks and start again. I know their voices and have the calls recorded.

This number has called me about ten times today. I have answered a few times and told them I was going to report them if they don't stop calling me.... Again they called and called!!!!!!!!!

Called over 10 times in 1 day. Every half hour.

6 times in an hour, no answer but I reporting to FTC. I believe it to be a rip off out of country site, BEWARE

They called about 30 times yesterday. Then already 5 today. After the 3rd and 4th time I answered to no response, finally a male voice, sounds like middle eastern or in that area of the world, he says I've been pre-approved for a loan of $1000-$5000, so I went along long to enough to get their address, 9801 Meadowglen Lane, Houston, TX 77042... it's a freakin apartment complex. online is s'pose to be www.loan4mergency... he verified my cell #, DUH MF you contacted me there... he insisted on an alternate phone #, I told him my cell is the only number he needs... after his third insistence that I provide an alt to verify my ID, I yelled for him to never call me again and hung up. So far no call back. Yeah!

They keep calling 10 minutes of each other using up the time on my phone for something that could be very important.

I have received 7 calls from them in 3 hours. They are telling me they have government grant money to give me since I have always paid my taxes. Funny none of the 4 different people have spoken very good English. I have asked each time they not call me again and each time they hang up and call back within 20 minutes.

Called me 11 times. No message. Says "sprint wireless" on reverse look up

Just read the other posts..I swear to God if they call again- I'm gonna answer in Spanish. Telemarketers always hang-up for some reason when I do that..you would think they would find someone who speaks Spanish

Number has been blowing up my phone for 2 hrs straight. Every 5 minutes they are calling.  Two times in a row, then wait 5 minutes.  I haven't answered.  I've placed them in the annoying calls pile.  Caller ID says PA, USA.

They say they're from the Government Grant Office -- but when I ask for something in writing they hang up.

So annoying! They've called over a dozen times today. When asked to speak to a manager, or to remove me from the list, they hang up. Now, when they here MY voice, they hang up. Who are these people?

The calls started yesterday 11/6/14 so  I blocked the second phone call. I did answer the first time, and no one answered. Today they have called 4 times within a half hour. Calling my carrier to file a complaint.
