You are correct that it is a program, but you identified in your first post as a branch of the SS administration.  A branch to me would be something like saying the Marines are a branch of the Navy.

It is confusing and I think deliberate use of the initials so people will answer their phone thinking its Social Security when its a survey company.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at: the fact that Survey Sampling (I) use SSI might fool some receivers of Supplemental Security Income to answer the phone thinking it's that agency.

I totally agree with you on that.  I've also heard they don't abide by requests to remove like they have claimed in regards to going to their site and requesting removal.

At 4:09PM 4/22/2015 "281 747-1050 SSI" called after 2 rings I picked up the phone and after 7 seconds of silence I hung up!!

I also get calls from this number, caller Id shows SSI, which nowadays could stand for just about anything.  They never say anything when I answer the call, so what is the point of them calling.  I have started just talking all kinds of gibberish when I answer the phone and it is a telemarketer, it is funny they get really confused and I hang up and laugh at them.  No call list does no good at all, but who says you can have some fun with their annoying calls.  Try it.  Just start mumbling anything every time they say anything.

I answered the call as it is a work line, it stated SSI on the Caller ID.  When I answered she wanted to speak to someone about pipeline safety and that she was with a petroleum company.   I told her there was no one available to discuss pipelines and she thanked me and hung up.

A guy with a foreign accent called and asked for the benefits manager. I asked what the call was regarding and what company he was representing. He said he was calling from healthcare research and wanted the manager to do a survey. The caller ID showed up as SSI. I left him on hold until he hung up. I cant stand these calls.

I now know that one thing. That one thing and that one thing only.

They called me and said "This is Michelle Lopez from National Market Research Firm, may I speak with Mr._____." I just said please remove me from their lists.

Scam phone number. Calls every night at 20:48 or 8:48PM. I wouldn't trust this number if IT CALLS EVERY NIGHT AT 8:48PM!!!!!!! BLOCK DA NUMBER IMMEDIATELY.
