I called the number back.  It is the College Republican National Committee.

If you listen to their 1-2 minutes of recorded propaganda, you can then press 3 to be removed from their calling list.

I have been receiving vast # of calls from another number-when I  looked up that # found it was from the same location as this one with the name Matt Donnellon ,but area code was 251.  Matt Donnellon is also ass. with A Rep. college party thing.

Got the same call yesterday from this number with CID Alex Smith.  I don't really care who he is or where he's calling from.  These people....and there's a plethora of them out there....are becoming a real annoyance!!  And when are people gonna understand that the DO NO CALL list is a joke.  When they first announced the DNC list, did anybody think for a second that it would be effective??!!

Anyway, I came to the realization a few months ago that if I really wanted to get these nuisance calls out of my life, I would have to get an effective call-blocking device.  And, I'm not sorry I did!!  There are plenty of them out there to choose from.  I purchased a Sentry call blocking device from PlugNBlock.com.  Works great and only cost $40, and believe me...$40 is a steal for the peace and quiet I now have!!!

I'm not trying to sell this particular unit, but you have to do yourself a favor and investigate the market for a good call blocking system.  Believe, I'm not sorry I did!!

I answered, no one on the line, then a disconnect.

Missed calls from Alex Smith every day for a week, never a message!!

Alex Smith calls from this number constantly...want removed from their list!!

I called the number back 301-750-2240.  No Alex Smith, but a recorded message from some Republican National Committee.   Waited a bit for the political BS and pressed number 3.  Followed the instructions and have been removed from their call list.

What a royal pain since the do not call list does not apply to political groups...at least not this one.

Since I don't know an Alex Smith, I didn't bother answering.  So he's wasting his time, not mine.

I have been getting this call (Alex Smith shown on caller ID) 310-750-2240 everyday recently.
Never left any message.
SOOOOO annoying and abusive.

Started getting calls from this number on December 2nd.  Did not answer as I suspected another scam in the works.  Reported on the "Do Not Call" website each time.  I have blocked the number with a Panasonic phone system.

This # has been calling and caller # say Alex Smith too.  I do not know him and there is no message either.  Starting to be a nuisance and my call block feature is full.

Daily calls from this number.  Caller ID says "Alex Smith" making it look personal.  

This person has been calling me just about everyday harassing me. They started calling about two weeks ago. I've told them my number was on the national do not call list. I've told them to stop calling. I've cussed them out about calling. Yet they keep calling different hours of the day!

Alex smith calls repeatedly and never leaves a message. I never answer a call I don't recognize and if it is legit they will leave a message.

302-750-2240 calls multiple times a day.  I don't answer because I know it is fake, but it is so very annoying!

I just called this number with the name of Alex Smith...it is the College Republican National Committee...they gave me a web site of www.crnc.org...

I sent them an email to stop these phone calls...

I keep getting phone calls from someone by the name of Alex Smith! It comes with the phone number 1-301-750-2240.
When I called the number...I got a message from your organization. The message also gave your web site. So...I am telling
you with this email...that I am sick of getting calls from your Alex Smith...just to be hung up on...sometimes 2 to 3 calls a day.
If you do not stop these calls...I will report this phone number to the phone company for harassment. I have a caller ID that keeps listing the times of the calls and how many times a day I get these calls...even on Sunday. Enough is enough...you will get no support from people with these tactics...I have seen on line where others are complaining about getting calls from this number with the name of Alex Smith also...I will post your web site for them so they too may contact you...

Be warned that if the calls don't stop...your number will be reported to the phone company...we are on the Do Not Call List for a reason...so that we don't get harassing phone calls...REMOVE MY NUMBER FROM YOUR CALLING LIST IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

This number, identified as "ALEX SMITH", calls 2 or 3 times every day at  random times.   I never answer calls from an unknown or unfamiliar caller.   This caller never leaves a message so I know its not from a legitimate source.   But it is a nuisance.   It seems the 301 Area Code is a source of thousands of nuisance calls from various numbers and sources.  It must be a cottage industry for this location.  I would seem that the AG of the state would at least investigate this along with the phone providers.   I know laws against this are probably lax or non-existent but an investigation might provide a basis for getting some relevant laws passed to put an end to this given the thousands of people being harassed by it.

Most phone services have a way to block certain phone numbers. Check with your provider.
