This is same old collection agency calling with a new number.                  Called number and was answered by Wolpoff and Abramson Law Offices.  These idiots have been calling for two years, and I don't have any outstanding bills.

I keep getting calls from these people, its been going on for almost 2 months.  They are looking for someone with the same last name as mine and I've told them that the person they are looking for does not exist at MY phone number. I cannot get them to stop calling me. I wonder if my name were Smith if they would call everyone with that name in hopes of maybe hitting the right one... Any ideas on how to get them to stop calling??

Several times over the last year I've received calls from these folks and other collection agencies. While I recognize the M.O. of recovering debt, I'm sick and tired of being called just because my name matches that of someone irresponsible with their money!
Ususally the last four digits of the SSN will stop the calls until the deadbeats strike again!

Harrassement calls for someone who no longer live with me

Leaves recording at least once a day searching for someone who has the same last name. I think it must be a scam or very ignorant company.

I get calls on a daily basis from this number!  At all times a day.  They are looking for my Ex-husband - who has NEVER lived at my NEW house.  Even after I tell them how to get in touch with him, they STILL call me.  It is a different person each time.  I have now hired a lawyer to go after them for harrassment... These people are IDIOTS!

Get calls every day for several weeks now.  Looking for someone I never heard of.  Sometimes call more than once per day.  I am told not to listen to the rest of the message if I am not Daniel Holiday.  Very annoying.  How do I get then to STOP!

Recordings, and once I answered the guy screamed at me ofensively threatening me!!!!! What is going on?  Iam reporting to police !!!!!!
Law office? Wanted to know my name and personal info (and scfreamed like crazy).

If you get their mailing address, send them a certified letter, just a couple of dollars, and state in the letter that you are not the person they are seeking and that all collection efforts should "cease and desist" immediately.  They legally have to comply, if they do not you will have a harrassment case against them.

Calling for someone unknonwn not at this address - message says hangup if you are not this person - So you hang up... they call back...same message-vicious circle.  Understand they are trying to collect money from someone - but it isn't me!

Same thing: automated calls from this company saying that they were trying to reach someone (not me) with the same last name as me for a "confidential message" and that if I was not that person to hang up. So I did. So they called back. This time I listened to the confidential message.

When I called back, one of the options was to report an incorrect phone call. So I pressed that option and was placed on hold. The woman at the answering service said she'd remove my number, but that it would take 48 hours. Since then, I'm still receiving the phone calls.

How is this not harrasment? How is this not against the law?

Calls nearly every day for over a month, sometimes more than once a day.  Recordings like "this is a confidential message, if you are not ---- ---- please hang up now."  So I do, but they just call right back.  I even get repeat hang-up calls.  I have never heard of the person they are asking for!

I am going to try to call them tomorrow and have my number removed but I doubt it will work.  I have been getting other collection calls which seem to be from the same "NOVI (248)" area listed in another post as an address for Wolpoff & Abromson, L.L.P.

this number has repeatedly called ,and leaves a recorded message for someone that we do not know.says to call a certain number to keep from getting the calls,but all you get is more recorded messages!So we just let the answering machine get it..

This is Rediculous. I pick up the phone, and there is no one on the other end.... HOW DO I GET THIS COMPUTER TO STOP CALLING ME ??!!!??

These people have been calling for 6 months or more.  I answered once months ago and they are looking for someone with a similar name.  They said they wouldn"t stop calling unless I could confirm I wasn't the person they are looking for.  The only way they"ll do that is if I supply them with "personal data".  Like I'm going to give them that.....We're on the do not call list and I've reported them but apparently that does no good since they are still calling.

Same as above, harrassment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Called twice yesterday using my last name and someone elses first name.
They told my wife the subject was "personal".  when I called them back, they said they would stop calling within 48 hours.  I asked why they were calling my number and they said they could not divulge that.  It was "personal business"
