We got a call today from this number, stating they needed to verify our correct mailing address for our 2015 taxes. However, they didn't use our names & the number they left to respond was another number I found was a scam: 1-866-593-8375

Scam about tax forms. Dirt bags.

Automated message saying they were a currier for legal documents they had tried to deliver to my place of work (I work from home so I knew it was BS). When I tried calling the number back, it didn't ring, just a voice message that the number wasn't reachable. Total scam

The woman called me twice a day but left no message. Is there any law against them ?

I received a phone call and the recording said they tried to deliver documents.

Said trying to mail documents, but was unable to deliver.

Got a recorded call telling me I had to be available to be served documents tomorrow aft and if I wanted to stop it to call the "filing party" at 866-593-8375.  Called that number and got a voice mail saying it was "John Anthony's office".  A minute later I got a call back from 716-770-1203 that was a hang up.  A few minutes later I got a call from 302-450-1317 that was a hang up.  Having had enough of this nonsense I called the 716 number and was told it was Northwestern Recovery about a medical debt that was well over 7-years old.  I asked for their state collection agency number and was told they did not have to give me that, I asked for a fax number to send a cease and desist contact letter and they refused to give me that, I told them I was not paying and they hung up.  This is a pathetic attempt to intimidate people to call an unlicensed (I did check my state and they are not licensed) collection agency to pay old and often uncollectable debts.

"My name is Lindsey Schaffer. I am a private courier giving you a call regarding to some sealed documents that require your signature. You are going to need to make yourself available tomorrow between 12 and 5. If you have any questions or want a stop order on the service you must contact the filing party at (left a number). Then follows up with a call threatening to come to my place of employment under the same conditions.

I didnt receive the call myself, but someone called my sister and told her that she needed to contact me (by name) and let me know that they are going to press legal action if i didnt respond within 24 hours.  They asked for me by name.  Scary stuff right there.  People really have alot of time on their hands to be making these ridiculous calls

We got a call just like this yesterday I think, same Lindsay Schaeffer.  Same message as R.B. but our message included coming to our place of business.  That's funny right there.  Blocked.

i received the same call with the exact message. There are a lot of pathetic people in this world. if I ever speak to them directly, they will hear some choice words that's not deemed pleasant.

I am in Iowa. I received a call from this number (Delaware) twice.  The first time, they left a voicemail that said they were a "private document service" that had tried to deliver documents to my last known address (did not state the address used) unsuccessfully, and were now going to try to deliver at my "workplace" (did not state the name or address) the next day between noon and 5:00 pm.  It concluded saying that I could "put a stop" on the process by calling the filing party.
The second call from this number claimed to be a firm called Matthews, *Unintelligible, and *Unintelligible; they had received documents regarding a "matter" of mine and wanted to discuss it with me.  Then they told me to call their office at the following number 888-742-8365.
I had also received a call from the same "private document service" at 916-674-5292 (California), 2 days prior to the aforementioned calls, stating they would try to deliver the documents to my home (no address) the following day between noon and 5:00.

Two points...  1. Real process servers do not warn you and..2. You can not stop a summons once it is issued.

Same exact as all the rest of these complaints. The second call threatens they will come to your work place. All these threats and the supposed currier service never happened. All three times she has called, oddly enough, when she mentions the company name the phone all of a sudden breaks up lol. They are trying to be slick and use fear and intimidation . Just keep letting it go to voice mail or block this caller. As someone mentioned, real servers never warn you that they are coming.

A lady called from this number saying they needed to get some important tax documents to me and that I needed to verify my address to make sure its the correct address. She never identified the company she was calling from

Got 3 calls from this number wanting me to call them about a "legal matter." Gives an 877 number to call.  I blocked them. So obviously a scam

A call from this Dover, DE # 2 days in a row w/different financial scam recordings each time.  Yesterday, a man claiming to be calling about a "pre-legal matter" & telling me to call him back at 877-876-5291.  Today a woman named Michelle calling from "the banking dept." about an issue with my payment & telling me to call her back at 866-777-2928.  Highly likely to be scammers as suspected by other posters.

I got the exact same 2 calls Vicki. I blocked the number. Some people are just horrible people. Michelle from the banking department 😡
