These calls have been flooding in over the last couple weeks.

I get at least 6 calls fromt his number a day, and I am getting sick of it.  I have not idea who Linda is and I will not call them back, I don't know what to do.  Any suggestions?

Capitol 1 has a gazillion numbers, this is but one of them!

I get this call at least 5-6 times a day. Sometimes they leave a message, sometimes they don't. It is always "Linda" with something for me to think about. I never call it back and you would think that they would quit calling after a while. I have several numbers from the same area so I'm sure they are all from the same company. I don't owe them anything and I actually paid them off a couple of months ago. I wish they would just stop calling already!

She calls us so often, she's become a good friend. It's a big joke in our home. Been with us about five months, until, sadly, the debtor here called Capital One. Then she visited us last week, and has been friendly ever since.
Someone should write a story featuring Linda.

I've been getting 5-10 of these a week on my work phone.  Always an automated recording.

I'm currently on hold with Capital Ones fraud department.  We'll see if I get anywhere with this.

I'm getting calls from this number DAILY, multiple times a day! And now I've had 3 calls on Sunday.  It is definitely Capital One.  I have a current account with them and I do not want the special offer whatever it is. I'm sick of the calls.

get calls from them a lot. Not sure if Capitol one or not but when I let machine get - they hang up.

I called this number back and you have to make up a 16 digit acct number and when some guy answered I told him off and he hung up on me..it was some kind of credit marketing..and I have rec'd at least 10 calls on my cell saying "Hi this is Linda.we have some great opportunities from Capital One". I wrote to Capital one and they still haven't answered me back. How can I stop this? They are flooding up my cell with messages...Also reported to do not call registry and filed a compaint..nothing from them either. Late with my c-1 payment... they use lots of #'s... first one from this #.

I keep getting calls several different numbers and several now from 215-977-7223 and they now have left a voicemail noting "Linda" from Capital One wants to make us aware of New Opportunities and I need to return this call today.  I have emailed them and called them several times to make payment arrangements and they will no way help on their end.  They can bother you all they want and will not help you with any bail out!  I said what are you going to do about it come and kill me! I am only a few days late on the payment, first time this year and even paid some on the amount due and paid the late fee.  I still have about 20 days till it has been late over 30 days and they have to stick the blood hound dogs on you.  The thing also is that the hounds are all off shore people they have calling us.  If I am going to get hounded for a few days late on a payment at least if it was an American person calling me, Linda sounds American but is not, I could take it better.  Cap one is the problem if they hired Americans to call we could all have good jobs and not have to worry about using their credit card to have to buy TP!

309-827-5401 is the phone number for Capital One. If your receiving consistent solicitation calls from this number, as well as any other phone solicitor your best bet is to do the following....

*For 800 numbers received from phone solicitors and not bill collectors go to the web page for the "Do Not Call Registry" and follow it's simple instructions for adding you phone number to the "National Do Not Call List." Also, make sure all information you add is accurate and note that it takes sometime, before your number has been successfully added to the list.

*If the numbers are bothersome to you or very consistent start documenting exactly what times/dates the agency is calling and the phone number used. Also, contact the agency, (best in writing for documentation and keep a copy for yourself), inform them (preferably a higher-up with seniority) that you are not interested in conducting business with them and no longer wish to be contacted by either them or any of their affiliates. Technically, this should remedy the problem in itself, but not all phone/mail/email solicitors seem to get the idea.

*If all else fails report the agency to the government agency in your area that is responsible for monitoring these types of activites.

Additional Note: For 800 calls received by collection or similar types of agencies there is a completely different type of protocol to follow and the instructions mentioned above will not be effective. However, with collection calls remember you do have rights and though you may be a debtor whose acquired certain debts the collection agencies are only allowed a certain amount of leeway in collecting that debt, before they cross the legal line. Your best bet here, know your laws, know what collectors are legally allowed to do and when their out of line, and most importantly document the calls carefully. Also, not as important, but if you have time to research the collection agency this may prove useful and research what kind of repor the agency has in their collection tactics.

Still calling today! Twice! Here's what I've learned. Capital One says the number isn't theirs (although we know Cap One is likely telling a fib). The number is pushed to an outsourced company. This company has two metrics on which they are graded successful. 1) The number of calls completed both inbound and outbound. 2)The number of offers accepted.

Either Capital One is trying to dupe the consumers OR it's an identity phising scam!

Calls 7 or 8 times a day. Very annoying!!!

10309-827-5401 called me yesterday (Nov 24) at 3:48, 7:13 and 11:06 pm. I saw the number ring at 3:48, I was at the vet and was like "okay, I don't know this number, I'll let it ring, I'm busy anyway, they'll leave a message" then the two additional showed up. When the call came at 11:06, I'm thinkin' this isn't cool.  I don't even HAVE a Capital One card. I don't even have any debt! Weird.

Received this call morning and evening during last 3 weeks.  No message left.

Its capital one and its rather sneaky since they mask themselves with so many different phone numbers and area codes. some people say its to collect on delinquent accounts or to sell something ..  but most people being called dont even have a capital one credit card.. seems to be a bit of harrassment .

this # called my cell, I answered...no one was on other line, just silence.
