- annshows unknown. Claims they were given my our name from our credit card co or bank for entry into a "dreams come true" sweepstakes ending 12-31-07. They started trying to offer "free" magazine subscriptions and when I asked who they were they hung up.
- kristy Jostsounds like another number that i'm investigating. They already had all of my information, so I've been searching and someone from this 310 number may have used another number to commit the same scam. has anyone recieved calls from this number and 406 761 4025?
- TarynI received a call just a minute ago. I confirmed my address but when they told me about a diamond watch that I qualified for free of charge. I told the lady that this sounded very weird and she then told me that she would not pressure me and hung up.
- Caller: O'Keefe H & K
- ShawnI got a call on my cell phone. They also said they got my number from a credit card. They said they were calling from Dreams Come True Publishers Headquarters. They comfirmed my info. and then wanted me to pay for a jet magazine. I told them I wasn't interested in paying any money and the call was disconnected.

- macmacI received a call on my cell phone from this number, and the caller asked for me by name. They wanted to confirm my personal information concerning a sweepstakes that I had been entered into by either my bank or my credit card company. I told the caller that I would have to confirm this with my bank or credit card company, and so I asked for her information so I could call her back. She said that she was new and had to put someone else on to give me that information. But she hung up. My caller ID on my phone showed this number (310-370-9486) and when I searched the number in whitepages.com it showed that the number was registered to K and H OKeefe in Torrance, CA. Why can't authorities do something about people whose purpose is so blantantly fraudulent?

- WhatinTheWorldI just received a call toady from 1-310-370-9486 on my cell phone. The lady asked for me by name. I asked "Who is this?" She said she was from a sweepstakes clearing house. I she kept asking for me by name but I would not confirm that it was me. I then told her that she has reached a cell phone. She kept trying to get me to confirm who I was. I did not give in and continued to flip the script and ask her questions. She said "OK, well I will just have to ask my supervisor how to handle this..."
My advice: Never confirm who you are to this types of calls. That sometimes gives them "confirmation" to go ahead and use your information (if that is their intention). Also, if you actually won anything, you would be contacted in more ways than just the telephone (ie. certified mail). You provided your address when you entered the sweepstakes, correct? If they really have a prize for you, they will find you.
This was not my first call from this number. The first time I received a call, the caller did not say anything and I just heard papers ruffling. I called back and heard same thing, no one would say anything, but I could tell someone was there. Today, when I try to dial back, I get a busy signal.
Anyway, suspicion got the best of me today and I did a reverse lookup. It shows:
K & H Okeefe

VERIFY WHO THEY ARE FIRST BEFORE YOU ALLOW THEM TO VERIFY WHO YOU ARE. THEY SUPPOSEDLY HAVE YOUR INFORMATION IN FRONT OF THEM...RIGHT?- Caller: K & H Okeefe
- KellsI just received a call from this number. I told the woman that I was famailar with her scam and said I was not interested, and I hung up. She immediately called right back and I once again very sternly said I was not interested, and I hung up. Then a few seconds later, she called again from an unknown number, and I once again yelled that I was not interested and to stop calling me, and I hung up.
Hopefully she will not call back again.
I would advise everyone to do the same. - Shawn AZ| 1 replyI got a call today from 1-310-370-9486 and did not answer as i did not recognize the number. This is my work cell phone and I am on call 24/7. I decided to look it up and here I am on this site. I tried calling back to see if I could get some info from them and first time I got through they picked it up and hung up. After several calls that were busy, I got the message that the "wireless customer is unavailable". I would love to find out as much about this person as Arizona has no tolerance for phone scams, especially over the cell phone. I do not have a home phone for this reason.
I would love to get what I can about this person(s) and turn them over to the State Attorney General to see their thoughts. Too many scams going on in this world and one less is a victory for all of us. Please add any additional info that anyone can drum up. - N, Nevada| 2 repliesI just received a call from 310-370-9486 yesterday 5-21-2008 with the caller identify herself as "Kaye"? from Publisher's Headquarters in LA, CA. The caller ID said: OKeefe, H&K, Redondo Beach, CA.
She asked and identified me by my name. The phone number called is not my house or my phone account and, therefore, is not listed under my name. There is no phone listing for my name. I usuallly give my cell phone number for my things!
She said she just wanted to verify my address. I DID NOT GIVE HER ANY INFORMATION BUT She had my correct address and gave it to me to verify. She said I was to be receiving a certified letter regarding a sweepstakes. She claimed that was all the information on me she had and she did try to sell me magazines which I declined. She did not pressure me and said that was fine.
HAS ANYONE HAD ANY REAL PROBLEMS OR IDENTITY THEFT RESULTING FROM THIS CALL? HAS ANYONE EVER RECEIVED ANY CERTIFIED MAIL????- Caller: Publishers Headquarters
- N, Nevada replies to shamMay 20, 2008 I receive the same call. Although I didn't give any info., she had my home phone (not listed under me) and my address and wanted verification so as to send a certified letter. HAVE YOU HAD ANY REAL PROBLEMS, IDENTITY THEFT or RECEIVE ANY MAIL RESULTING FROM THIS CALL? (I posted my story on this site under N, Nevada)
- amyI received a very similar phone call, I verified my name and address. They said my bank entered me into this contest. Since I recently switched banks I called the bank to verify. They said I would be receiving a registered letter and a free watch (forget how it was described). They tried to sell me some magazines and I told them I work 12 hour days and do not have time to read (true); then they asked about my husband, I told them he does not read. We became disconnected. The call came in on my cell phone but it was a different phone number from yours it is 562-432-6283.
- BrittneI was at work, so I wasn't around my phone to answer it. I am in the military and work with people from all over the world. I checked the phone list for the shop I work in, and the phone number didn't match anybody, so I did a reverse search. I tried to find out more about who had called me, thinking it might've been somebody military related. I also tried calling the number back, but I got a busy signal.
- Caller: H&K O'Keefe
- tonya| 1 replyA woman from a publishers clearing house called me on 6/24/08 at 5:51 in the afternoon. She asked to verify my address and said I had won a watch which type did I want, was entitled to some magazines and wanted to send me some complimentary weekly magazines. It wasn't convenient to talk to her at the moment and I didn't want any magazines, so she hung up. After I hung up, I wondered how they had gotten my cell number so I dialed back (310-370-9486) and only got busy signals. I just got a hang up call from the same number, reverse traced it and found all of these comments. I've got some company checking to make sure no one steals my identity, I hope they really work
- Meg replies to tonyaThis place is a complete and total scam. I have a ton of magazine subscriptions already and they seemed semi-legit at the time. (I know, my bad) So I went along with it, but then when I got the info pacakge in the mail that told me I was actually getting 4 years of subscriptions of 5 different magainzes, I called immediately and told them to cancel. They argued with me that this wasnt possible and reminded me that they already had my credit card information. Mind you, this was before I even got a single magazine in the mail. I immediately changed my CC # and still got magazines in the mail. They continue to call me for payment and I keep telling them they never should have sent me magazines and that they should stop sending them...I STILL get all the magainzes and basically just am a [***] to them when they call. They are a total SCAM and avoid at all costs.
- Susan| 1 replyI actually got the same call and they offered me the sweepstakes prizes and at no point did they say I won, they said I had a chance to win and offered me a magazine promotion (buy one get six free deal) and I actually bought them and I subscribe to a weekly magazine and there was no fraud and I received my welcome package my watch and my magazines.
You guys are just too too paranoid - AlI received a call two times from this number, the first was a couple weeks ago and she verified my name and address and said i was a finalist and could win either $25,000 or a brand new Chevy Equinox. I dont believe they offered me magazines though. And last night another woman called back again to verify and I said someone had already contacted me and she said that it was her first day and she must have grabbed the wrong pile of cards.
- Meg| 1 replyI received a call from 310-370-9486. How do they get our numbers?
- WonderingIf "Susan" is related in some way to the O'Keefe's?
