I have done some investigating and I’ve compiled all the info I have come up with. This is as of 5/19/2007. I’m posting this on all the sites that are related to this company.

Company Names They Use: AAA Carpet Care, Allison Carpet Care, Best Carpet Cleaners, Best Carpet Care, On-Time Carpet Cleaning, Pro-Carpet Cleaning and Infinity Carpet Care.

How They Operate: They are probably a carpet-cleaning referral service and they earn commissions by finding clients and then referring a local carpet cleaner to their home. Likely, they have a VOIP service which allows them to spoof a number different from their own so the number that pops up on your caller-ID is not really their number and it’s useless to call back that number.

    Current Phone Numbers: 888-279-6049, 888-279-6050, 888-279-6051, 888-279-6052, 888-279-6053, 888-279-6054, 888-279-6055, 888-279-6056, 888-279-6057, 888-279-6058, and 888-279-6059

    Old Phone Numbers: 800-376-1983

Spoof Phone Numbers: 213-221-1021, 310-388-8021, 310-421-9121, 562-433-3521, 650-898-0321 (There are probably more, but this is all I could find)

Possible Addresses (These may be fake like the spoof phone numbers): 14709 Vanowen
Van Nuys, CA 91405; 6803 Cedros Ave, Van Nuys, CA 91405; 1400 Huntington Drive South Pasadena, CA 91030; There are numerous more based on web searches of their 888 numbers.

    Probable Web Site: http://www.procarpetcleaning.org/home.nxg

Also, go to http://local.yahoo.com/ and do a search for 888-279-6049 in zip 91405 and see how many different locations this number refers to. You get results with their other numbers, too.

Perhaps what we should do is tell them that we are very interested in getting our carpets cleaned and give them the address of the local police department or school.  When the "real" carpet cleaning company calls you to finalize the schedule you could just say that you changed your mind.  It would really mess with their referral business and perhaps the companies that use them as leads would get the picture.

calls are (supposedly) coming from New Mexico. Best Carpet. other phone numbers for them:(888) 279-6051, (888) 279-6050 (888) 279-6053(888) 279-6049 (800) 931-9961 and now disconnected (800) 661-0888. some of these telemarketers will hang up on you. some of them will take your home phone number and remove it from their list (at least the person I just spoke to said he would). we'll see... in the mean time I think I'll call them every 5min just because...

you may continue to call - but you can't block your hone number with *67 when calling a toll free phone number.  your phone number is going to appear on their phone bill.

I am just going to go ahead and schedule the cleaning service the next time, and then I will find out from the driver who shows up where the lead came from.

If the leads turn out to be bad, no carpet company will be willing to use them.

It seems that "Allison" has a new name.  Today I got a call from JULIE with Best Carpet Cleaners.  My number is registered on the Do Not Call List, and usually I hang up as soon as I get these prerecorded messages, but today I decided to listen to the end.  I did press the choice at the end of the message to have my number added to their do not call list.  If they call again, I will schedule an appointment for them to clean my carpets at a fictitious address.  Grrrr.

Carpet cleaning repeatedly calls me.  One time I called the number back and was connected to the last person they called!  I have not called the 800 number yet.

I am on the do not call list as well.  Isn't there a penalty that this company must pay each of us that are on the list?   Any lawyers out there willing to file a class action suit?

Recvd call 3:30 pm May 30, '07 from "Allison" for carpet cleaning.  I pressed 1 to speak to a person.  A woman answered, told me the company name was Best Carpet Care, that they are in "Alameda", a city nearby, then asked if I'm "writing us down", I said yes, she said "good" and hung up.
    I don't have caller id.
I made a report on the do-not-call website.

Ha ha ha. I just took your advice and called them straight for about 10 minutes. They even had the owner start answering the phones. DROVE THEM CRAZY. They should take some of their own medicine but I doubt that it will stop them.

I just got about the 5th call over the past few weeks.  It used to say Julie, this time it was Alison.  I pushed 1 and asked more, they said it was Best Carpet, a steam clean, asked my zip code and told me there was a local location in Culver City.  I asked for a number to call them back and she said 888-279-6000.  I then hung up and called it.  It's a recording saying "for the nation's best talk call 800-475-TALK.  When I called the number it said "hey there sexy guy..." I hung up.  Really low class of them.  I called the 888-279-6050 number several times and she kept hanging up on me and one time I asked if she ever heard of the do not call list and she said "yes, it's our bible."  I said "What?"  She said "We live by it." I said "You're insane."

keep calling 88-279-6050, they're at least picking up.  The same two girls, and actually a guy answered and replied "we'll take care of that" when I said I wanted to be removed.

Every Tuesday morning I get a phone call from 310-388-8021. I am on the Do Not Call registery. Since it is a recording, I can't get pertinent information to report them. When will they stop?

file donotcall.gov complaints using the 888-279-6050 number since the other numbers are fake and the 6050 number they answer.

I called and asked if they were in Surprise, AZ like the Yahoo ad shows and the woman says "yes, I mean no."  I Called her out on it and she said we used to have a location there, but don't anymore.  It sounded like maybe that is the true place they are calling from and she forgot to not divulge that info.

The site http://www.carpetcleaningla.com lists 800-661-0888 as their contact number and it sounded like one of the women who answer 888-279-6050.  I asked if it was "Best Carpet" and she said yes.  I hung up.

If you go to www.netsol.com and select "WhoIs" it shows who registered websites, but unfortunately this business is hiding behind the actual host of the domain name so there is no direct address/phone number for whoever is actually doing the calling.  I called ecommerce.com and they said they can't give out the direct info without a court order.

They called again this AM.   They call about every week.
I filed another report with DoNotCall.Gov.   I am writing a letter to Jerry Brown.

I assume tracing them is a low priority for our government, but one of these years, the principles of the telemarketing firm WILL be persecuted.   Just keep complaining, not just to the BBB, DNC, but also to the state attorney general.

    HomeSick
This is the second time I have caught them calling me when I was at home sick from work.  The rest of the time, they get my ans machine, which is so annoying because there's no way to get removed when it's a message, and I have a message every couple days.  But, apparently, it's impossible to get them to stop anyhow.  I have unplugged my ans machine - 4 months ago now.  I pushed the button to talk to someone both times I caught them calling when I was home. Each time, they say it's Best Carpet (only when I ask the co name) and offer a deal on carpet cleaning.  Each time, they hang up hard and fast as soon as they detect I am miffed about the calling.  I told them the first time that I was on the national no call list.  The words "National No Call List" hadn't completely left my lips when she hung up.  They won't give me a number, and theirs is hidden from my caller ID.  Even *69 won't work.  These guys are as unethical as they can get.  I have reported to the FCC, but with no phone number, I don'tknow how far that goes.  I hope they put them all together and work it out, or enough people make reports WITH ph numbers.

Clearly, Best Carpet is a cover name because there are tons of Best Carpet this and Best Carpet that in the phone book.

i own a phone company and i've been getting these calls too.  i checked who the carrier for (800) 376-1983 is and it is ATT whose 'resporg ID' is AWMM1 with a contact number of 877-973-7767. i pressed option 2 which is also 800-580-6576.   by federal law, misuse of a toll-free number is a violation of federal law and of AT&T's terms of use. ATT MUST advise whichever customer has that number that they are violating ATT rules.

contact ATT and demand that they comply with the law.
