I received a call from this number.  The girl said she was calling from Publishers Headquarters in California in regards to the Dreams Come True Sweepstakes.  She said I had been nominated by either a personal friend or my credit card company, and that I had been selected for the top 100 contestants. She listed a lot of prizes, and said she needed to verify my address.  I asked her what address she had for me and it was outdated as well as incomplete, and she said I could see all the information in writing if I gave her my address.  She was not able to tell me who nominated me or what credit card I used.  She gave me a number I could call her back at.  After I called my credit card company, who had never heard of the organization, I tried to call the number back and it rang until the "off the hook" signal started.  **IT WAS A SCAM**

they just called me and was trying to pull the same thing...hhahaha...jerks!!!

I just received the same phone call, my agents name was Cheryl, and I was told I had one the basic prize's and was being entered into the grand prize drawing. I too called my credit card company and they had never heard of this company either. I ignored the second call.

I just looked the company up with the BBB, they have recieved a B- rating, but I do not think I will be doing any business with them at this time.

Keep getting calls from this number. Won't answer as I am on a do not call list. going to contact them to see why this call is getting through.

i as well got Cheryl who told me the very same story. But she already had all my info except for cc card # and or ckecking account #. Her super called me for the info. I hung up on them and they do keep calling me back. I as well am on the Do Not Call list. Alot good that does.

I also received this call but from Britney.  She led me to believe I could cancel the magazines at any time.  She was very nice.  When her supervisor, Brandy called back to verify the info, she told me they had a no cancellation policy for the magazines.  I WAS VERY FIRM AN TOLD HER I DID NOT WANT THE MAGAZINES UNDER THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES.  You could tell she was irritated but said thank you and hung up.  I will not do business with anyone that sells magazines with a no cancellation policy when I can buy the same magazines and only the ones I want from any news stand and costs less in the long run.  Britney had called from 3108313497.

I just received the call. I had a call from 310-241-2966.

She said that I was potentially a winner in a contest and it was my credit card company that refered her. She had my address already and never asked for my credit card number or birthday. She asked me my age, what I do, and my income. She wanted to make sure that I could afford the gift tax. She said they were mailing me a watch, because I was one of the top 100 people in the contest. She asked me what one of the two gifts I would like if I win. Then she asked if I'd like to receive a free 48 month magazine subscription.

I called my credit card company and they said they've not heard of the number and I should call the BBB and my local authorities.

I got a call from this number with a lady telling me I had been picked to be in a drawing for $25,000 and a new truck, remodel, a trip for two to California and that I could be two.  She said I won a watch that would be in the mail.  Then she went on and on about magizines.  I told her that I didn't want magizines.  She then said ok the information will be in mail, (click)...I didn't give any personal information thank goodness...how do these scammers find us?  She even knew my address.  SCARY!

I had a call from Hearst Inc. today. Actually, I've been receiving calls for the last month from them. I don't answer calls from people I don't know. Today, I decided to type in the company name and phone number and found this board. Magizines???

Here in Michigan we have a law about UNLISTED numbers. This company uses a robo caller program that has been calling my number. BIG MISTAKE. I called the number back and talked to someone who told me she is a supervisor. She wanted to know if I had talked to anyone from the company when they called. She tried to claim that maybe this was a miss-dial.

I told her that I know how these boiler rooms work and that she was using a robo program and that here in Michigan, we had laws that protect people who pay EXTRA for a private UNPUBLISHED phone number. She hung up on me.

If I receive another phone call from this company, here's what I'm going to do.

I will play along with the dummy on the phone, (Keep in mind, they get paid by the subscription) I will order everything they offer, and then when they go for the close on the deal, I will tell this pathetic California parasite that all the information I just gave them is FALSE! Maybe they should think about getting a REAL JOB.

Just got the call telling I have all these stuff.  When I said send it to me in writing she just hung.

This is freaking me out. They have info of me and my address, I'm honestly freaked out...

they called for my room mate, and I sat the phone down to holler for him to pick up his phone, by the time I got back to where I laid my phone down, I heard her saying to roomie how he won something and  I laughed and she tell him to ask his wife to hang up the other line and why was I so nosey....I say, I was about to hang up when I heard you try to scam my roomie and then she got nasty and so did I telling her that it was my house and I pay the bills and I can screen anybody's calls and we ended in shouting match to where she hung up.....half hour later another woman calling from same number, asked for roomie and I said he didn't live here anymore and the lady says, "you are a true [***], aren't you?"........I laughed and said yes and then I said bite me and hung up...............lol

Just had a missed call from this number this morning, no voicemail. Now I'll know not to bother pickup if they call again.

just got the same call.  I said no thank you and she hung up immediately

Phone rang, caller ID was this number, I did not answer.  Looked up phone number on this site and found out it's a magazine subscription SCAM.  I'm very thankful for this site!

Hello.. My name is Tony.  One person who uses this phone line has no account.  I allege.. though I have proof.. they have been hacking my hardline for a period of almost eight years.  They slow down my computer.. it is fast.. but when they cut my line with theirs speed is reduced by 2 to three times.
With my hard line hacked they get my signal before I do!  They get what I send in e mail.. voice.. and faxes if so programmed.
I am prosecuting them for rights violations.. claiming.. and suing for if necessary.. recompense for half my communications costs for those stressful years... I have them blocked on my cell.. and my computer is useless in anything requiring privacy.
Of course.. they say.. "I not listen'.. yeah.. they cannot ask me.. they will violate my right to privacy.. and I can trust them?... trust is hard enough in this old world.. I have run ohm meters with specific ohms indicating a tap.. etc.
A tip.. major providers have their own skeletons.. in some very complicated closets.. their company.. (in the case of Verizon) or corporate priorities.. in cases of others.. despite the title and skill of 'security'.. are public relations.. and cash.. they have to issue a complaint to local authorities to get response from same.. that is for fraud charges levied by the provider against the perp.
I was a radio operator in the USAF.. working an aero station.. tower.. and doing Airborn Radio Op.. duties.  I left the service a five level.
In the sixties for a short time I worked for the phone company as a framer.  Not much has really changed.. save the advent of computers for civilians and miniaturization of equipment..
Hell.. I built a radio from a 'kit' when I was eight years old for a cub scout merit badge.  I know when a line is crossing miine and where it goes. I am prosecuting these li'l darlings.. for violation of privacy.. collusion.. conspiracy.. and a host of other charges relevant to FCC.. Consumer affairs.. state and federal constitutional violations.. and so on.
The feds are necessary to stop frustrated local law enforcement from illegally 'tapping' our phones wholesale.. police agencies think.. in their difficult profession.. the bill of rights is in their way.. nothing could be further from the truth.. they experience.. as are certain cultures.. long years.. to centuries when such rights where ignored for grievous discrimination from ignorance.. greed.. culminating in bigotry.. such has political purpose for those who have poor constituents.. giving them a 'comparison'.. that satisfies only those drunk or dizzy lost.. If someone tells you what they are doing is legal.. behind a jack.. a low cost service etc..
I would suggest you type in the name of your state in the search bar.. then 'wiretap laws'.. same thing with federal.. FCC.. and so on.. these things require an account with a solid provider to function legally.. (either that.. or permission from the account holder in writing).. these folks appear to prefer to steal.. kind of a drag.. socially awkward and awful.. they try to corrupt others.. offering 'deals' that seem to cover their criminality..
DO NOT BE FOOLED.. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER FEDERAL.. STATE CONSTITUTIONS AND STATUTES HAVE BEEN MODIFIED TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR RIGHTS.. DESPITE ANY ADVENT.. OF ANY TECHNOLOGY.. IT IS ANOTHER TOOL...
One of the largest.. if not the largest legal organization there is.. the ACLU.. is right in line with human rights.. civil rights..(the social arm of necessary living rights).. these things of privacy and free expression on primal..
You are born to this world.. if born to this world in the U.S. there is an advantage of legal precedent to protect you as an individual.. this is one thing none should be lazy.. or apathetic about.. it protects us from our own species.. when folks become frustrated.. or abuse power in civil service positions..

The tenets of our country are a Free.. Egalitarian.. society.. with privacy and expression uncensored.. let us keep these goals until attained and appreciated by all..

Hello.. As a matter of general security procedure.. I keep my 'pin'.. SS.. bank acct.. and anything private.. right down to my address.. private.. used on as few sites as possible.  With bank transactions I use one system.. my bank's.   There are a plethora of reasons for doing this.. staying as simple as possible.. keeping specific records and hard copy.. folks just do not pay attention.. what used to be a 'given'.. is now considered exemplary in job performance.  Seems they have made too many of our youth overspecialized corporate tools.. a shame.. a waste.. and a challenge for them.. and education.. those with good educations are more confident.. are not as easily fooled by 'another good plan'.. Scam a person named Cheryl said I was nominated by my bank or the credit card company. The Dreams come true sweepstakes and they would send me a watch. I asked more questions and they wanted my Debit card and when I said nobody gets tha number they hung up. I called the number back several times and let it ring with no answer.

Caller was from publisher's something about me winning a prize.  I asked to be removed from their call list. I was told "we'll see.  Nah.  Screw that. You figure it out."
