This number dials my office 10 or so times per day. A recording says "The FBI has reported that burglary...."
Then I'm asked to press 1 to speak to a rep or 8 to go onto the do not call list, but no matter what I do, they continue to call.
The number is hidden, but our office system can override that. The call shows up as "Customer Service".

Calling the number does nothing to help - another recording, then a loud beep and a request to leave a message.

Got a call today from that number. Got a partial voice mail telling me there is no cost for the installation and to press 1 for details or press 9 to remove from call list. Suspect telemarketers.

Recording said: "FBI reports crime in your area. Blah, blah. If you allow us to put a small sign in your front yard, you can get alarm system for free" October 2013

Got a call from 1-312-273-1405 on my work phone yesterday, 23oct13, at 6:54 pm - partial recording offering a 'free' security system.

So far received two calls from this number on my land line. Went to voice mail but no message left. I just ignore if I don't recognize the number.

This number called with this "FBI" message wanting to put a sign on my yard.... bla, bla.... its likely a SCAM, just ignore it.

Got the same thing "Bill" above got about ten minutes ago - partial message about installing something. From reading the other posts sounds like a security installation firm. Or an imposter.

Just got a call from this number.  Definitely Chicago number.  I'm assuming it was Carl Winslow.

Got call just now from this number. I called back from a different phone and get a  recording giving options to either be connected to a customer service rep. Or be placed on the do not call list. I hope the customer service option works better than the Do not call list. If not, nothing works unless the goal is to annoy, that function works flawlessly.

I, too, got a call from this number a few moments ago. Didn't answer, they left no message.  

Yet another call from those $&*#(*&$ security system companies playing the "FBI reports a break in" and can we put a sign in your yard.

They use dozens of different caller ids. Currently area code 312 seems to be in use as our business just got several calls in a row all from 213 with the same nonsense.

More specifically, it seems like the scum are using a whole block of caller ids starting with 312-273-14xx
