scumbag collector fronting as a law firm to chicken to leave a message

No message. I haven't even had my phone number very long.

They called me.  It was about an outstanding Illinois toll violation that we were not aware of (old address on the account). The guy on the phone (Mr Payne) was very courteous and polite.  

I called the Illinois Tollway and they realized it was there mistake.  Paid the missing tolls and then called back the bill collector at this number to let him know.  His response was "Excellent, thank you".  That was it.  

So contrary to most bill collection stories, Mr Payne there is a gentleman.

thanks for letting everyone KNOW that you DID YOUR DUE DILLIGENCE and verified with Illinois Tollway First  and THEN paid them directly.

Most people NEVER think to verify with the "Original Creditor" first.

I got a call from this number twice. As soon as I answered both times they hung up. That's what prompted me to check out the number. A stalker maybe? But I guess after reading these posts that it's not. *phew*

Got phone call from this number.  Said they were a law firm and had me on multiple toll violations back from 2008 on roads I have never been on.  They are supposed to be mailing me something, but it's been over a week and I haven't received anything yet.  They had an old address that I hadn't lived at for years, so I don't know where they are getting their information, but it sounds like they are scamming.  I'm worried they turned something that's not even my violation over to credit bureau.

don't know why they are calling.  I don't drive the toll way--they never leave a message. when i do answer they hang up--l'm going to report to the FCC

have repeatedly been getting calls from this number, since I switched to an internet phone serice. they do not leave any messages, and I dont owe anyone anything. Is this an inside job within the new internet company???

Has been calling 3-4 times a week!!!  Anything I look up online says this number is affiliated with unpaid tolls.  I have an ipass, I have no unpaid tolls!  How do I get these people to STOP CALLING?  If I really owed someone something, put it in writing and mail it to me.  So much for the do not call list.  :-/

Call made to work "internet phone" and logged in email as "missed call".  Totally bogus caller.  These types of scam calls are skyrocketing over the past 7 years and the  "Do not call list" that Congress implemented does absolutely nothing to solve this and neither does Congress / lawmakers.  Thanks for nothing as usual (Govt.).

They call every day for about a month.  A robo call message from Harris and Harris Ltd debt collectors.

Call several times a day for over a month. Never leave a message. Don’t know what they want but I am guessing it is a scam for money.

They call every day, several times a day.  Some kinda law firm collectors. When I call back to be taken off the list, cause I have never lived in Illinois, they put you on hold and back in the queue. Annoying.

You need to send them a certified, return receipt letter.  Debt collectors are not telemarketers and do not have "lists" that you are taken off of.

They call every few days.  We say "hello" and wait a moment, then say "hello" again but no response, so we hang up.  We do not owe any debts.

Harris & Harris debt collectors. They keep calling our business and a recording starts talking.
