What flavor of Kool-Aid is Mr. Botchway now making you drink? As you are obviously a new starry-eyed "employee"...Understandable new kid on the block loyalty...But a lie is still a lie....

Shame on you...or is that how you were raised with no values or ethics?

This site is not safe! It has become really easy to trace IP addresses and writing patterns. The law was recently changed to allow for electronic wire taps to be used against these kinds of sites. Companies are hiring security companies to monitor sites like these and gather electronic info from the source as it happens.
Be careful guys! It was fun while it lasted. We need to move on. Be safe.

Not Concerned replies to We're being watched.
That is completely false, as long as you are tellling the truth there is nothing to be concerned about. If what you say is true in a public forum it is not libel and as a result you don't have to worry about any post you make. I have to assume you are an employee of the company if you're actually using this as a way to try stop people from posting negative reviews. The funny thing is you dont realize that the Senior management, such as Ian or Moe, do not even have college degrees. Funny considering they try to play themselves off as a premier middle market investment bankers. Bottom line, if your an employee of theirs get out while you can. If you are lookng for a company to raise money for you....buyer beware. And If you are thinking about suing me for posting don't bother because you can't refute anything stated.

I thought it was over and then Houlihan Smith rises from the ashes, under a new name. I can't stand them. They call constantly and are a waste of my time. I don't give them any useful information and don't plan to, soon they will be sick of me because I will continue to be polite and just disconnect the call.

Matt O'Brein of Madison Street Capital called and when I told him our CEO was not avaiable he got huffy and said that he left a message this morning. Note to solicitors I am not in charge of when executives call you back. He said the nature of his call was a corprate referral. Curious.

Phil Buckley called from this number for one of our sales reps by first name (acted like he knew him).  I asked what the call was regarding & he said a referral he had more questions about.  I put him on hold, typed number into this Unknown Callers online & found all these complaints.  I then get back on the phone & tell the guy that our sales rep knows nothing about this & he goes "about what?"  I said he has never spoken to Phil....Phil says "oh, that's right, we haven't spoken yet."  I told him to explain reason for his call, then he says he is with Madison Street Capitol so I put him to voicemail.

The nerve of people who make these type of calls never fails to amuse me.

Same guy called for our CEO today and "jerk through and through" is accurate.  He talked to me as if I was a total idiot - but I'm smart enough to know when someone's never going to get a return call.

This is amazing! First off: this number just called our business so I wanted to see what you good people had to say about this number. Then I FINALLY see that someone else has received calls from a guy claiming to have the name of Michael Andretti! This guy(s) is relentless. He (They) have been calling here since 2009 - asking to speak with the owner, of course. I had thought that Michael Andretti was a legit guy.... I hadn't put two & two together until I got on this site. Thanks for the post!

And by the way: NO! All secretaries aren't "pricks". Look, it's 4:00pm now. I have been answering phones since 7:00am this morning. When you answer phones and also have to get work completed it gets really old and tiresome to have BS people call and interupt you. Most calls are work related & legit. It's the A Holes that are always trying to sell stuff that you don't want or need and the rude scammers that make me angry and subsequently - a prick, if that's the term you want to use.

    2BZ2 Take These Calls
Just had someone call at the office from this number, but I couldn't understand the guys name. I think it was Mario. Anyway, the company name comes up on caller ID as Madison St Capt. I no longer give my name when I answer the phone because of these solicitors. The guy asks for me by my nick name and then says, "I understand you want to grow your capitol." I told him I have not made any such inquiries and he said he would remove my name from the list. Let's see how successful that will be.

HLH replies to Charles Botchway, CEO
    Mr. Botchway,
Whether the accusations being leveled towards Madison Street are true or not, I do not know. What I do know is that the frequency of calls that my company receives from your company translates into obvious sales desperation with dubious intentions. I have told my secretary that I do not want any calls from this number patched through to me. Our company is NOT in looking for ANY outside "solutions" (sell you soul to the Devil cash) to any "complex problems" (loan call - low cash flow) at the current time. Your associates/employees are always offered the opportunity to leave me a voice mail but never decide to utilize this option. PLEASE stop harrasing people that are not contacting you first. If Madison Street is "successful and consistant" in their endeavors - why the chronic phone calls that are wasting my associates' time?

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck - it's usually a duck.

A "Nick Bradley" called our company this afternoon, looking to talk to the boss. I am not one of those "[sic] secritaries" poster J. Hamilton so rudely maligns because I am not a secretary but it IS my responsibility to screen callers and I admit I tend to do it rather aggressively because scammers and cold callers of questionable scruples force that necessity upon me.  So, when Mr. Bradley called for the boss, he was required to provide some basic information he obviously had hoped he didn't have to disclose to me -- like his company and the reason for his call.  (Getting the information was a bit like pulling teeth.)  His reason was that it was a "business call" and that our boss (allegedly) had some additional questions about which Mr. Bradley was calling him back.  This was such a blatant lie that I told him dryly, "Not likely" and promptly hung up.  The "boss" (aka hubby) was standing at my desk at the time and was likewise disgusted by the caller's lie.

I understand that cold calling is difficult but any "company" who tries to get a foot in the door with a lie can put that foot where the sun don't shine because we won't do business with them.  We don't hold a end-justify-the-means philosophy.  If you START with a lie, that completely undermines your credibility with us because it begs the question as to what else you are willing to lie about.

They call - ask for first name and try to say they are returning a call because they have a "few more questions" and act like they have spoken before - other times they call and hang up when you screen and most often, they try to act like a buddy. Shiesters!  They will never get through to my boss when they use these scam tactics.

In a situation like this, I would call in my assistants, Smith & Wesson and let them handle it.

Are you sure they weren't talking to Rahm Emmanuel?
