They called at 9:09 pm last night (11/10/2016) wanted to know if I voted. Being half asleep I said yes (which I normally Don't) and then they asked if they could call once a month to do a survey and hung up.  Can't anyone do something about these people. They call your cell, your home phone and they won't leave you alone. If I want something I will make the call - don't call me.

Called at 9AM 11/11/16.  Caller said he was John from Survey ---- and asked if I voted in the last election.  Since I perceived no need for anyone to have this information as the election is over, I hung up.  Now see that others report it as a scammer.

Caller ID says "INFORMED ELEC".  They leave no message.

I called them back.  They have called me before via (412) 226-0147.  The outgoing messages are virtually identical.  I wrote up a lengthy report for the 412 number which was posted on 09/02/2016.  Long story short is that they are a PAC (read "want your money").  They will "inform" people by asking a few very basic questions.  If you answer any questions, they will keep calling.  Sounds like a SCAM to me.  For additional details, see my 412 area code post.

They called at 3:13pm.  We have had the entire 312 area code (Chicago) blocked for several years.  Call was blocked and our phones did not ring.

11/19/16  9:14 PST  Same as Mah, above.  Pretty early to be calling on a Sat. to expect anyone willing to answer survey questions.  Left no message.  Will add this one to blocked caller list.

Received a call at 8:30 am, ID said, Surv Informelec. Didn't answer and they never disconnected the call. Phone kept ringing, we had to shut off all the ringers on phones! VERY annoying! Not a pleasant way to start the weekend!

It wasn't a pre-recorded message, but a live caller. He wanted to know if I'd voted in the recent election. Said all I needed to do was reply yes or no. Long pause (I screen my calls, so he got nothing but dead air), then, "Hello?" Then he hung up.

    A few recommendations:
    1. Caller ID is your friend. So is an answering machine. If I don't recognize the number, I let it go to the answering machine so I can screen who is calling. If you're not already, get on the Do Not Call registry. And don't hesitate to use Call Blocking for obnoxious scammers that slip through the loopholes.
    2. Don't ever...EVER...answer with a simple 'yes' or 'no', as it can be used against  you in so many ways. Especially if a scammer gets their hands on it. It's like signing a blank check. Not a good idea.
    3. Be proactive. It's okay to protect yourself from people that don't have your best interest in mind.
