- Tamianth replies to Franscine SmithYou can buy your own call blocker these day's and they pay for themselves in no time. They will block way more numbers then the phone company's allow also. Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

- Jessy replies to ballbusterFantastic idea?
- Michael T.Caller ID: Chicago IL
Called on a Monday at 7:18 am my local time in Southern California
I get these about once per week spanning over three years. The "city & state" caller ID is usually a dead give away. I never answer my phone.
These are likely to be offshore telemarketers (often from India) using fake, or "spoofed" phone numbers to conceal their locations. It’s a common trick used by some call centers to avoid penalties for calling numbers on the do-not-call list.
It also makes their calls almost impossible to trace by the FCC -- although they have had some successes over the years. The government in India has offered 'full cooperation' but have really not done that much.
You can try call blocking if you want. But my experience is they seldom use the same spoofed number and caller ID more than once or twice.- Call type: Telemarketer
- Marc replies to CWG40i typically don't answer if the call is from a number I don't recognize. If it is important, they will leave a message. Call blocking is a great method, but with all the spoofing of numbers, that can get tedious.
One thing I have found that works well is a lot of these people ask for someone when they call, usually someone that doesnt' live at the number. When they ask for someone, say, "Hold on, let me go get them" and set the phone down, continue on with whatever you were doing before they called and check back in a half hour and see if they are still there. Amazingly, sometimes they actually are. LOL. I don't hang up until they do or I need the phone.
Do Not Try to Engage these people in a conversation. It will just raise your blood pressure. They are calling from out of the country, so trying to return the phone call can result in huge charges to you. - corinne van aukenSome guy tryingbto give me a large loan claims he is from cadh advance never stops calling
- Caller: cash advance
- Annie May replies to AnonymHere's what I did, I had telemarketers calling me 5-8 times a day. I bought a hand held air horn. The first time I warned them I would use it every time they called, they did not get the message so I answered and said " I told you to quit calling me, now every time you call this is what you will hear" then I let them have it. It only took two times and they quit calling me.
- JohnStop calling me several times a day. I don't want your service people.
- CWG40 replies to Franscine SmithI agree, unfortunately you have no other options.
- LPLThis people keep calling me and saying that they want to give me a loan... I did not ask for a loan. Please STOP CALLING ME.
