These calls come mostly from India and Pakistan. The government knows about these.  This scam has been around for several years now.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

SCAM!!!  Recorded message states it is the IRS calling about a federal case filed which may lead to arrest and states one should call 312-940-6951 immediately.

I just received a call from this number.  It was an  automated message: We have received legal petition notice a tax fraud against you so before this matter goes to the federal claims court  house or  before you get arrested, please call this number!! Make sure you call us ASAP!  This is a bunch of BS.  I feel sorry for the poor individuals that fall for this.

Lol I called him out on his [***]. And he said [***] you you [***] [***].   Funniest thing I've ever heard!!!!

This happened to me and told me a warrant for my arrest was already in place and I would spend 6 months in jail.  This individual told me I would not be able to do anything to fix it since the warrant was already in place. Said, that 2012 taxes were incorrect. I was scared and in a panic.  I told the individual I would have to contact my attorney and get back to them.  The person told me the attorney could not do anything since the warrant was already in place.  I hung up on them. Do NOT give them any information.  I found out after the call that this was a scam and was extremely angry and embarrassed that I had even fallen for this.

Today 7/29/15 at 1:57pm I received this VM saying "have received legal petition notice concerning tax fraud against me, so before the matter goes to federal claims courthouse or before I get arrested to call immediately on our d epartment number 312 940-6951. So I called and got a circuit busy. Called again and spoke with Sharon Marin employee ID 10096 she said I had umpaid federal income tax from 2012, that I had ignored a notice CP503 and I needed to act immediately before an arrest warrant would be served immediately.  She spoke with a heavy Indian accent. I asked her how my cell phone number was attached to my tax returen and she said US Department (she forgot to say Treasury 3 x's during this call) had all my information. She asked for spelling of my name and I asked her why I hadn't received mail notification of this since it was so old and she said the IRS had reviewed my tax records from the last 5 years and I was trying to cheat the government.  I had to ask her to repeat several times because I couldn't understand her bad English accent and finally we both got irritated and she said she would transfer me to her supervisor (she used similar words) that a warrant was out for my arrest. A man with a heavy Indian accent came on and I asked him to get me to someone who spoke better English that I was hard of hearing. He said just a moment and put me on hold....I waited 1 1/2 minutes then hung up.  She never mentioned paying a bill or asked for money over the phone.  This is clearly a fraudulent call and i am concerned that this will startle an innocent inexperienced caller and they might end up giving money via credit card to these people.  From the comments on this site it appears this has been going on for several weeks and I am wondering why legal action hasn't been taken and a stop put to this. And who owns this site? Do you have any legal authority to stop this kind of stuff.

Left message saying that I owed tax money & to make sure I don't get jail time for fraud to call asap, when I called the number was disconnected or not excepting calls at this time, sounds like a scam

He told me that I had to go to the bank & get 5,000.00 in cash & if I told any one I was going to jail for 3 years & if I could not come up with the money I would be in jail for 6 months without bond..Everytime I even got a thought He would YELL at me more & I just started to cry & I tried to get a loan from bank & when that was taking taking to long for him He told me to go to the next branch & so I did ..I covered the mouth so he would not hear me & I told them what was going They said Miss, This is a scam!!!! I was shaking so bad & so sick to my tummy I could not think straight...The Ladies could hear him yelling at me... the one lady could not take any more she took the phone from my hand & told him a thing or two & said we know this is a scam & do not ever call her again! They were so sweet!  They called police & I told her what happened & she said that's what they want for you not to think.  I EVER SO GLAD TO GET HOME TO MY DAUGHTER & MY PUPPY!!!! My daughter made dinner for me & took care of me the rest of the week....From now on if I don't know the number I don't answer it at all!!!!
