Portfolio Recovery scammers. They have been calling me nonstop for months now. I've blocked number after number, and this is the newest of their numbers to go on my blocklist. You'd think they'd get the hint by now..

This call came in.  I did not recognize the number so I did not answer it.  There was no voicemail left.  They have gone to changing their numbers now.  This was a new one for me. They keep harassing me for a debt I do owe not and did not incur myself.  Wish I had an attorney that could sue them.

This number is one of Portfolio Recovery's phone numbers.  Portfolio Recovery purchases bad debt and tries to collect payment.  Portfolio Recovery is a real company who uses many, many different telephone numbers and many, many different area codes.

Instead of telling us what we already know because it has been posted multiple times in this thread, why not tell us what we can do about it?  Like, how can we make the calls stop permanently?  What agencies should we be reporting them to?  Is it possible to sue them and make them pay us?  You know, helpful things like that.

Caller ID showed an actual personal name. Said his supposed full name (different than the caller ID name) and asked for me by my full name. I asked who he was and what it was about. He said he was looking for (my full name) about a private business matter. I hung up, after which my phone identified it as "telemarking."

yes, we still have an FCC. It is working for corporate America i.e. Agit Pai and giving control of the internet to the likes of Verizon, ATT, Comast etc.
AS for calls like this, just simply do not answer the phone of you don't recognize the number. Most of these calls come from voice over IP lines, and are virtually untraceable. I got two calls from this number yesterday, and one just now. I no longer use my cell phone or carry it unless I am on my motorcycle.

What exactly does the FCC have to do with a phone call from a debt collector?  Perhaps instead of offering your ridiculous rant, you should have actually taken the time to learn that debt collectors are under the jurisdiction of the FTC, the CFPB, and your State Attorney General?
As to being "untraceable", well Portfolio is located in Virginia and is easily found on the internet.

P.S. had you taken the time to read the other posts, you would have also learned all of what I just posted and as a huge bonus, how to stop the calls permanently.  Alas, it seems you did not do that, so I guess you will never learn what to do.

This is a "zombie debt" collector. I have a 750 credit rating now and all of my outstanding debt is past the State of Florida SOL.Wiped Clean!  Do not know why these people keep calling. I do not have any outstanding debts.

You seem to have conflicting information in your post.  First you said you had outstanding debt, they you said you do not have any outstanding debt.  SOL does not "wipe clean" debts.  The only thing that the Statute of Limitations does is prevent anyone from filing a civil lawsuit against you.  It does not wipe the debts out, and technically they can attempt to collect on the debts for the rest of eternity.

Now, if you are really interested in stopping the calls, then you should have read the other posts as I see the permanent solution to your problem has been posted.

Same here. They try to threaten that drastic measures will be taken if I don't pay150 10 yr old debt!! LoL
