    OK, here we go again.  The Statute of Limitations which is a state law and thus varies by state does one thing and one thing only.  It specifies how much time someone has to file a lawsuit.  Nothing more and nothing less.  Now, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) which is a federal law, specifies how much time debt remains on a credit report.  That is 7 years and 10 years for a bankruptcy.
