Answered after caller ID line appeared with number only
and third right.
Said "hello" and caller immediately hung up.

This number just called here too. I answered after two rings, and they HUNG UP! Listed as MHS with the number 314-387-4000, and I am more than annoyed. If this continues -- Magellen Health Services (after some research that is the company this number is registered to http://magellanhealth.com/)  will be hearing from an attorney -- this is unacceptable!!!

I got a call from this number most companies use auto dial and sometimes it takes a a few seconds for rep to pick up.  A message was left for me to contact them. They are representing the Postal Service Employment Assistance Program. I have a supervisor who screams and yells and after my stroke it is getting difficult to handle. Often his yelling causes severe headaches.

They called 3 x today and left no message.  If they call again I am going to block them. Like everyone else I get tired of these scamming phone calls.

I was confused by the unrecognized number but now that the responses have mentioned Magellan and Employee Assistance Program, honestly I feel better.
This is a service for federal employees who receive a myriad of benefits through the EAP.
However, someone calling once and hanging up after two rings is FAR from illegal or harassing and you should probably back off the lawyer since I'm quite sure at some point in your life, you have misdialed so stop over-reacting.
Most likely, they just got the wrong number, since there has to be an initial call made to generate a referral and then the service (ie, health, legal, etc) will call back.  Sometimes, the call center gets the number wrong.

I've received 2 calls from this number since yesterday...  I didn't answer, but they left no message. Don't think its 'wrong number' when they are repeat offenders.  Maybe this is how the mental institute gets business..

I just got 4 calls within 15 minutes from this number.  When my answering machine picks up it just beeps until the machine shuts off.   I sure hope it doesn't continue because it's quite annoying.

I just recieved a call from this number, person on other end wanted to know if I knew someone who does Daycare for second shift parents. so are they a mental health facility or what.

got call from this number at 11:00 am on 8/8/11.  left it go into voicemail.  message left said it was National Imaging Associates with message for my husband from our medical insurance company and a tracking number.  the phone number they left cannot be reached from my area code.

This is Magellen Health Services an EAP group, and is used by public companys also.

I started getting these calls after calling American Diabetes Wholesale.

Got an automated call from this number.  The automated msg. wanted my DOB in order to proceed.  I don't give out my DOB.  I just hung up.

I received a voice mail that was unintelligible at the begininng when it said who was calling, but perfectly clear when they gave the number to call back. Not calling back.

After more research, I think it was Magellan Health Services, even though I could not understand the caller.  I think they took over providing medications for my mental health provider, probably for those who can't afford to pay. I vaguely recall receiving a notice about that recently.
Apparently the company contracts out all kinds of work, so is probably calling people for all kinds of reasons.
Their tactic of calling and expecting me to call back is annoying and I will NEVER call them back.

My cell # received a call from this number at 5:54am this morning! even if I was in Eastern time zone that is too early for ANY calls (and I'm located in Mountain time!). I called back and got a recorded message saying it was Magellen Health Services.

Magellan is simply one of your employer's health-care providers, and it's to your benefit to accept or return their calls. They're not telemarketers.

Got a call, not one was there, called back... This is NOT a scam they have to do with your medical insurance. In my case it was for an MRI that was ordered on my ankle that was originally denied. They were getting in contact with me to tell me what my Doc needed to do to make my insurance accept the pre-certification. Blue Cross Blue Shield uses them.

As Joe said you definitely want to call these guys back!

Regardless if they are from my health care provider, if the calls are unsolicited they will be blocked!!!!!!!!!!!
It is illeagal to robo call and leave messages.

Got a call from this number, thought I had hit ignore but actually hit Send and answered the call without realizing it right away, so whoever it is got about 8 seconds of listening to me sing along with the Zac Brown Band lol

This is nothing more than a call center-for-hire.
Although they appear to be hired by legitimate companies, they use all the same tactics as the scammers & spammers.
*They usually spoof their caller ID
*They ask you to "confirm" personal information so they can talk to you
*They are not truthful about who they are
*They call multiple times per week sometimes several times per day.
*They often hang up when you pick up the phone (likely because they're robo-dialing enmass)
I would not deal with these people or give them ANY personal information until they start acting in a responsible manner.
I would, instead, directly call the company/agency they purport to represent & discuss any issues with them.
