Matt Miller number called from a 315-410-2078, and said that I had a bad check, but the person that left the message said that his name is Brad Sutton, and the number he left was 315-341-9422 I called it back and it is not a working number.

do not want them to continue to call because i am so certain this is a fraudulent call.

keeps calling. threatening messages left. some debt collector. calls daily.

This guy said I Gave bad check, asked him who he was and got very nasty, told him to screw, this is a scam

got a call from this number on friday 8/10 and they left a message stating my wifes name and need a legal statement from her due to a formal complaint filed against her for theft of goods.   first thng i did was check out the phone nbr on line and based on these comments have no plan of calling them back...  stated they were from RJA Capital

I received a message from "John Campbell" on 8/22. He stated that I was involved in some fraudulent clam and left the last four digests of my social security number on the message.   The number that was left was 315-410-2078. I have a new phone number and it is unlisted.  The company name was RJA Capital.  Also, they used my old married name..... This is scary....

RJ Capital is a company that purchases outstanding debit whether it is legit or not, they search public records or credit information or whatever list they can find so shark people into paying them money. They violate the Fair Collection Act by using intimidation and harassment. If you dont believe me, if you talk to John Campbell tell him that you wish to consult your legal advisor to get the best legal and financial advice on how to handle the situation before anything...do not volunteer any information, they are not a legal firm but he will reference legal terminology in order to intimidate. Indicate to him that you want all calls stop that you are recording all interactions with him and that they are to stop calling your family, your place of employment and that you have a legal right to make this request. The reason being is that collections companies can themselves be sued if they are deemed to be violating the Fair Debt Collection Act

Just because you may have debt or things may have happened doesnt mean that you do not have rights. Do not let people like this intimidate you. If this is a legitimate claim, you have the right to have the information in writing, if they cant provide it to you how would they be able to file a claim against you in court? And under NO circumstances is this a criminal offense and NO you can not be arrested for not paying a debt when called by this type of company.

If this you have no idea what these people are talking about, indicate to them that you are going to report this to the FTC and that you are being harassed.

If the information is not legit, they may have purchased your information from another company which is why the information would not be current. Its possible that they were able to access your credit information and saw that you had outstanding debt and are now using that to extort money. Not exactly sure how they receive the information but as I said, indicate that you are consulting with legal advisor.

Stephen, I totally disagree with you!..I too have a file with Rja Capital and Mr. Campbell has been nothing but polite and professional to me. He's been more than helpful to me and my daughter who also has a file there. He's never once disrespected me or made me feel less than and what I know of him he's currently a law student and what I don't understand he's breaks down in laymen terms for me. So I Definitely think you're someone that probably has nothing more to do than to try and defame Mr.Campbell. I'd suggest you contact him and try to work something out because if he has your debt "that you owe" he "IS" the only one that can help you. And be an adult. If you have a debt, PAY IT...it's no need for you to come on here and blast someone trying to make an honest living especially you're the one at fault here.......And I will be contacting Mr. Campbell and alerting him of what you've done here....and I hope there's some legal action he can take against you cause it's clear you're obviously obsessed with this one individual for you to state such things. Just shows how much of a debtor you are.....

@sierra, that is your choice to pay it, don't slam someone who is stating the truth.  This company is illegally trying to scare people into paying a debt by threatening court and jail which is AGAINST the FDCPA.  this company has been shut down numerous times and continues to re-open under different names with different phone numbers.

No where in Stephen's post did he "defame" Mr. Campbell.  He was stating the facts that are all over the place regarding this company.

Some of us are fully aware we have debts that we are unable to pay due to our own circumstances.  It is not fair for a company to get away with threatening actions that they CANNOT legally do, when we have enough to worry about.

If you can pay your debt then good for you, for the rest of us, we are trying the best we can.

Pissed....No I don't think it's funny, and I'm not working for him...I'm just a person which believes in paying my bills...What's your gripe with Mr. Campbell?  He sent me everything I asked for. I know the account is mine. I asked for a letter and he sent it. The payment comes out every month and when I call and ask him anything he's very helpful...even stuff that's not about my bill there....So I don't get you. Shill...I'm actually a county employee that took out a payday loan to help me move. I was contacted by Mr.Campbell weeks ago and looked up his number because I too thought he was a scam and I didn't return the phone call...Several days later he called back and I answered to give him a piece of my mind, but I couldn't because everything he said to me was right, and everything I asked him to do he did. He's done right by me...so I can only protect him in this regards... So "Shill"...please don't be disrespectful to me because I'm not feeding into the nonsense that you all do because I choose to take responsibility and pay my bills especially when I know I'm the one who took it out. I've told Mr.Campbell about this and he laughed...he probably doesn't even read these things....If I had his job...I wouldn't because what it boils down to is grown adults exaggerating and making elaborated accusations all because they got caught in the process of running from their responsibility....Stop hating on this man for doing his job.  Respect begets Respect. Wow you people will anything you can to not pay the money YOU OWE!!!! I talked to Mr Cambell a few different times in regards to a chase card that I owed on. He explained everything to me and actually helped me find a way to pay this off that I didnt even think about and NOT once did he say anything about arrest. You people are scumbags who steal money dont pay it back then try to come at somebody for doing there job. What is wrong with you people GROW UP!!!!!
