    Hey Sierra...you are so dum. You know him & have something to do with his fraudulant company. You got scammed so go ahead & give them you're money & the next scammer will love that. I paid $1800.00 for a $300.00 credit card & that will never happen again. You are a FOOL. Keep working with those pathetic companies. How can you take your daughter's money & give it to someone who can't provide food & clothing for her? PATHETIC.

    You have to prove in writing that the debt is valid.  We are not going to pay everyone who claims we owe them.  Would you pay some stranger who demands money?

    Hey Steve, what brings you to 800notes?    So enthralled with your great experience with "Mr. Cambell" that you felt compelled to cruise the Internet just in case anyone says anything bad about him?   If so, you are going to be one busy guy.

    Actually, its not a fake comment. GO TO THE FTC SITE IDIOT, that is where I got the information. I know people and someone in particular who was harassed by this company. And if YOU were legitimate you would know that NO legal action can be taken against someone who stated information derived from the FTC website. The fact that you are accusing me of owing debt shows the level of your own intelligence and also you allicance with this organization. Do you really think anyone is fooled by your post. Please...and me obsessing...HILARIOUS...look at how many people you responded to about my one posts...all I am doing is providing information about what peoples rights are...WHICH IS NOT TO BE SCAMMED...and actually...I AM IN THE LEGAL field...so legal action...BRING IT!

    I recieved a phone call from RJA Capital stating I had a claim against me for a hot check in Denton, TX. I advised that I have never conducted business there and he told me that he was hired by a pay day loan company that I was currently paying and they filed charges against me and they were calling to settle the claim before I was turned over to the authorities. I have never been in this situation before, so I set up the payment arrangement.  I just received a phone call from Mr. John Campbell, who is about the rudest person on the planet.  After my arguement with Mr. Campbell I decided to draft a letter to his company about his behavior and I come across all of these comments.  I should have checked first.  Thanks to all of you for posting your experiences with these people.  I guess now I have to report this to the AG.  I feel so stupid!!

    Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
    Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

    Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

    Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

    Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

    Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

    Not Stupid
    I actually did not receive any calls from this company, but 'Brad Sutton", from RJA Capital has managed to leave messages about me with just about all my friends and family, not sure how he got their phone numbers, but he did. I called him this morning to find out who he was, and why he was looking for me, the call back number he left is: 607-231-8060...He has got to be the most unprofessional person I have ever came across, screaming at me, threatening me..I explained to him that I honestly had no idea about any of the information he was trying to give me, and to please send me some information by mail, and mentioned my rights under the FDCPA, I think that is what set him off, he proceeded to scream over me, not letting me speak at all, and basically told me that the sheriff would be contacting me, and good luck. If "Brad", and "RJA Capital" was legitimate, they would not need to use threats to intimidate people into paying them, and they would have absolutely no problem sending the information by mail. I am 100% sure that I don't owe any outstanding debt, and I have not written any "bad checks" as he tried to claim.
    Is this guy for real?? I'm sure he "scares" a lot of people to paying him, but seriously?? How could anyone really think this guy, and this company is for real??

    Eric Klein from RJ Capital left a message saying he was sorry, but after trying to reach me for a while, they will have to send my case "over" because there was a fraud claim against me from Chase.  I called back, then he called me back, and said that there was a fruad case against me from Chase.  What? For what? He didn't know, but explained that he was representing the legal department of RJ capital and that he was an aribtrator.  I aske for the fraud claim number, or something, he said he had it and that he didn't need to give it to me.  He said they have been trying to reach me, I asked he if he would like to view my phone records to ascertain exactly when these calls may have been made.  He just kept repeating that they made many attempts to call me.  NEVER.
    I had my attorney call him and they have not heard back from him.

    you just got scammed.  they scammed my mother for $509...she thought they were calling to collect a debt from me, threatening her that I was going to go to jail if I didn't pay and that the fees for court were going to bring the charges up to $1500 to $2500, I have done a lot of research and found that they are telling EVERYONE the same exact story and that there is no one who has anything good to say, you're an idiot if you think this is legit I'm sorry to say but you got scammed.
