I have received several calls from 315 numbers. I always block them. The voice recording talked about something time sensitive. It was the same voice that was in the other calls. Has anyone else received calls from this number?

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

    Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
    (202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

I receive calls several times a day 7 days a week.  I have reported the number (s) to the U.S Attorney Generals office along with other agencies and it never stops.

Unfortunately our government rather spend our hard earned tax dollars on things that benigit them and not help us.

I received a call from this male who told me he was from a law office and it was in regards to a debt. Asked if 5*** was the last four of my social.  I replied no.  He kept asking, I kept telling him no.  I asked the last name of the person he was looking for and when he told me, I only replied no this is ****** and he started cussing me and hung up.  I called back and he answered and when I told him what I thought he began to cuss me again.  After some choice words I reported this to the local police dept. and they said they could put it on a list, but nothing I could really do, it wasn't considered a crime.  Bulls*** it is a crime to contact people at a work location and begin to demand things and cuss you.  If it isn't then it really should be.  To many people are getting scammed now.  This needs to be stopped.  Innocent and trusting people get taken advantage of way to many times.

i have been receiving these messages for two days now threatening me and if anything happens to me it will be my own fault. I can't even understand what they are saying and they do not say who they are calling about or the company in which they are calling from. At this time I do not have any outstanding debt.

I got a phone call from these 2 numbers 3155674622 and 3155674539, with threats that I owe a payday loan and if I didnt pay 5,000.00 that I would be arrested, and they were going to contact my employer, but they would not give me any information about the loan and who it was through, when I took the loan out, the original amount the loan was for, they stated the sent me several emails trying to resolve this matter and I asked for the dates the emails were sent and "Charles Green" said they don't keep that information, what law office does not have all the information they need, also another call I received from the same place was from a Jay Smith. I did file a complaint through the attorney generals office.

I have received over 10 calls from phone number 3155674539. Fist call that I answered said they were calling cause the State of New York was filing 3 felony chargers on me for check fraud, Identity theft, an money laundering. Well I informed him a Mr.Jay Smith that I never had a check account for any reason. He then started to tell me I was being charged with grand theft auto. As I started laughing he got very upset an told me my state (Texas) was a no tolerance state for things like that. I just received another call maybe 10 mins ago an again Mr.Jay Smith tells me They are filing charges on me for a pay day loan. I have never got a pay day loan. When I told him I have already talked to them before an told him if it was all about that [***] again he got very upset told me did I just say [***]? I said yes an he said I was abusing him an he was going to be filing charges on me.

I received two phone calls today from this number on my cell phone and at work. They said that they were a law firm and that I was being charged with 3 felony charges for a pay day loan that I don't have. The second phone call the guy said his name was Mark and he was telling me the same thing. When I told him that this was a scam and not to contact me again on my cell phone or at work he proceeded to tell me that they were calling my employer to let them know if I really thought this was a scam. I also told him that I would be reporting this phone number.

Yes I received the same call. I even agreed to the fact of providing my attorney a power of an attorney to receive any documents they had in a what they stated a non-paid pay loan. They have refused to cooperate and I firmly believe they are involved in a scam of sorts. I wish I could end these harassment of calls but unless I again change my phone number, my email address and passwords they continue. I am here to help anyone with this or similar problems. Do these people have a job or life. I guess not. We do have so many problems in the world and to have these kind of threats makes this great country always on the look out for problems we have no way to solve. Thanks and again here to get rid of these kind of nuisances. Stu

Got a call from them telling me a company was filing a suit against me under pennsylvania law, 3 accounts just like B above. Same problem. It was a major hassle, they even had my social security number. I should have said "no" when they asked. But I did notice they never mentioned my last name. Idiots. Said the case would be filed tomorrow, and that court costs would be 5,000 or something, and that I would receive papers in the male. They asked for my attorney information, etc. . . kind of ridiculous. Looked this up and found it was obviously spam. Beware, don't give them any information or answer any questions. FAKE!

Just got a call from this number within 30 seconds on cell and work numbers.  A man left a serious sounding message.  A real bill collector will state their company name and reason for calling.  will not be returning call.
