they've called me a couple times, make me made when im busy on the job and get a call on my cell !!! have to stop what i'm doing to see who it is to find out its the cbe group.  slows down my production,

they call all the time and NEVER leave a message... some collection agency if that is what they are.. I dont answer numbers on my house phone or cell I dont know.. what would eb the point especially of they dont leave a message

just add them into a "don't answer" file in your phone, and then set that name to go straight to VM

follow-up: After too many calls from CBE, I called 800-925-6686 and spoke to Julie in the Compliance section. I told her my telephone number and asked to be removed from their lists. She asked if I have an account with CBE. I said I'd never heard of CBE except what I found on the internet. Julie said she'd remove my number.

The problem is that debt collectors believe they can repeatedly call any number on their "skip finder" lists in an attempt to collect debts. The number may belong to friends, coworkers, relatives, or simply someone with a similar name or address.

The debt collectors are fishing for information and want at least a "wrong number" from anyone that answers. They call repeatedly until told to stop. The law doesn't prevent this tactic. But this method of calling numbers repeatedly just to "confirm" a "wrong number" is as abusive as telemarketing and the public should not have to respond to each debt collector to stop the repeated calls.

It's clear that debt collectors know the numbers they call do not belong to the debtors they're trying to contact. Instead, they're expecting to get lucky by calling many numbers vaguely connected with the debtor. They hope to find a someone who will give them a new lead to follow.

How to stop CBE Group from calling? Call 800-925-6686 and ask the receptionist to connect you to Compliance. Give your telephone number and say you want to be removed from CBE's calling lists. If CBE asks you to confirm other information, say that you know nothing about CBE.

Stopping these "debt collection" calls shouldn't require so much effort (finding the company, calling during business hours, etc.), but calling has worked with other reputable debt collectors.

Yes, they are a collection agency; according to FDCPA law for collectors, they can only call between the hours of 8am - 9pm 7 days a week unless you inform them of two days a week (usually sat/sun) that are "no call days" if they continue to call you on the "no call" days you previously informed them of, they are in violation of the FDCPA.

I saw 3 calls over a week were on my 3 month old cell phone.  I have no debts.  I called back the number, went through a few automated answers (are you calling from new york? - no, is your name Cece Babo?  no...for an account rep press 2...did this.  Polite person anwered within 15 seconds (it is 10:30 pm eastern time) - I explained someone called my cell 3 times in the last week.  He asked if my name is or do I know Cece Babo?...I said who!?... no, I just activated this number a few months ago (true).  He apologized and said he will remove my number - surprisingly pleasant experience and only used about 3 min of call time.

I suppose someone who WAS the intended call recipient might also get this to work for them to stop harassing calls if they were both pleasant enough and convincing enough (perhaps having a friend of the opposite sex and/or who sounds different from what the caller expects based on your voicemail greeting, name, address, etc.) make the call.  Not promoting dishonesty here - only do this if you don't deserve the harassment.

Called 8:40pm Friday evening.  I picked up because I was expecting a call from a friend.  They hung up as soon as I answered.

I DON'T ANSWER CALLS FROM NUMBERS I DON'T KNOW AND ARE NOT IDENTIFIED.  LEAVE A MESSAGE AND MORE THAN A NAME AND CALL BACK NUMBER.  WHAT ARE YOU CALLING ABOUT?  THIS IS GETTING ANNOYING.  I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY ARE CALLING ME - I HAVE NO OUTSTANDING DEBTS AT THIS TIME.

frequent calls, no one ever talks when i answer, or leaves a message when i don't. i thought they were fishing to find out when i am around. now i presume it is to do with a person who used to have my phone number as i have received many calls about her from one or two collection agencies. they will not believe me when i say i was assigned this number when i moved here from another country last year and have no idea who she is. it seems like they are allowed to harass innocent people every day of the week as long as they do it before 9 pm every day. they seem only to want to harasss me since there is never any one to talk with or contact information.

These people have kept calling for over a year trying to reach Diana Anderson.  I have told them they have the wrong number, have blocked them and they keep calling on a different number.  When I turned them into the FCC they called on number 639-275-826483 at 5 AM and showes up on the caller ID but can not be called back or traced because it it too long of a number.  I also turned this into the FCC. They also called on number 954-383-0935.  I will not quit complaining to the FCC until I get satisfaction!

If they are a debt collector then leave a freaking message if you want a response if you don't leave a message STOP CALLING. you are annoying.

They never leave a message & call at least 3 x a day.

These ideots keep calling me and do not leave any messages.I guess they are calling on behalf of Dish network . Dish network could not provide services at my new appartment because my appartment faced north they said.They said I should have told them before moving so they could have told me where to move to,but because I did not do that, I have to get someone else to take over my services or I will be charged contract termination fee.From then on ,those ideots have been calling me

Being a debt collector i can honestly say thank you for being courteous and simply saying wrong number, if all people would be as civilized as that its simple to remove wrong numbers. We seriously dont want to be calling wrong numbers and having to talk to rude ignorant people just yelling or cussing and not being able to understand a word they are shouting.
