- ElizabethJust got the same... a very aggressive, authoritative voice, male, insisting I immediately open my computer and do as he directs.... I was suspicious, as had gotten a similar call about a year ago, and thankfully then deduced that it was a scam..or worse.. This time, I asked for a telephone # and said that I was very busy, and could not do as he asked. I'm sure he will call back, though now that I have checked I will just hang up..unless there is some way to officially complain and report it.. The guys name was Roy, exten. 116. And yes a heavy accent... but not at all pleasant or persuasive... just an authoritative jerk.
- Caller: 'microsoft'

- carole from Pittsburgh, PAMy husband nearly got scammed by "Pedro" from India. Fortunately, he realized that something was amiss when Pedro got really nasty with me on the phone when I was not cooperative. However, he blocked our computer, and It took our son nearly 3 hours to undo his mess.

- BenThe man who called me (extreme Indian accent), identified himself as "Michael". He claimed to be from the Support Department at Microsoft at Los Angeles, CA; explained that my computer was "infected" and directed me to log on www.ammyy.com. While I talked to him, I opened another window on my screen and checked out ammyy. When he asked me to click on an executable file, I quickly logged off my computer instead. I asked for a phone number to call him back and he gave 323-522-5366.

- Sir Bedevere replies to jason andersonYou are a liar. Microsoft does not make calls of this type. They come from scammers who direct their victims to install software that allows takeover of their computer for criminal purposes.
- Mike-in-MD replies to jason andersonYou must be getting desperate in that boiler room you work in because too many people are aware of your scam. Perhaps you should consider honest employment and work off some of that bad karma you are accumulating or you are likely to come back as an intestinal parasite in your next life.
- ShillKill replies to jason andersonYou may to satisfied to work for them in their criminal operation. You are a low-life, lying, cheating, vermin that should find and honest job. Now, get back to the boiler room you shill
- JoeCaller claimed to be from Microsoft. They have called 20-25 times in the last 2 weeks. Each time they tells us that our server is corrupted and causing many problems putting us at risk for security. When asked if this was a virus or trojan they were adament that it was not anything like that, but worse. After explaining that I had a background in computers, they refused to explain in technical detail what the problem was before they helped me remove the problem. This entailed me following their instruction to which would eventually allow them direct access to my computer. I refused and called them on their bluff. When I asked for references and a number that I could call back if I had questions, they gave me 323-552-5366 as the number. A quick check on the web gives numbers posts regarding this being a known scam. Do not follow any of their instructions.

- MaryI just now received a call from this number. It comes up on the caller id as unknown. The first guy with a very foreign accent said that my computer showed up on some list that showed that my computer could have corrupt files on it. I'm like "ok". So then he transfered me to "Adam" who then said he was the supervisor and wanted me to be aware of a situation and wanted me to open my computer management settings and count how many "errors" I found under the applications windows log. He wanted me to count all of them. I then asked if he was from Microsoft, he replied, no but that his company was hired by microsoft to call EVERY person who has a computer to let them know what's going on and to help each of us fix the problem. I then asked for his number and this (323-522-5366) is the number I was to call back. I asked where he was located and he said Los Angeles.

- DotilouCalled 7:00 a.m. Today. I don't understand why people even answer these calls. If calls are legitimate, you should recognize the I D as a business or person you know. If not, get on this site and find out who it was , then report scam calls. I find i miss certain business calls because they farm out their calls to a call center whose number could be used for many other businesses or scams. Did you ever wonder why, when you call a business, you invariably get the message "all operators are busy helping other customers"? Then you wait for a ridiculous amount of time to get connected. These are the ones who always say "your call is very important to us". I think if this were true, a company would hire their own personnel to deal with their "valued customers". Call centers operate for all types of businesses, both legitimate and illegal and have no interest in customer service. Deal with these calls on YOUR TERMS.

- Employment discrimination lawyerSome company called me at 5:22 a.m. from 323-522-5366. Some guy who clearly sounded Indian said he was calling from some computer company. The problem is that a) I never called for computer assistance, and b) why would anyone think that a lawyer would be working at that time of the day. My work line also rings to my house line at that time of the day. What bothered me is that he woke up my entire family, and my kids have major exams today (and haven't gone back to sleep). I told him that, and he didn't apologize. I also asked him why anybody would call a law firm at 5:22. Now I know why he called. To offer "computer assistance". Ridiculously inappropriate to call someone who never sought help.
- Caller: Some computer company?
- rook2430Same here . I knew since they called at 7:30 in the morning something was wrong!
- Caller: windows tech dept
- mom of lawyerSomeone from 323-522-5366 called my house at 6:30 a.m. today, offering to fix my computer. But I never sought their help. They apparently woke up my son, an employment discrimination lawyer, at 5:22 a.m. today with the same call, even though he never sought their help either. (He has posted his own complaint).
