I just got a call from them yesterday around 12:25 pm. Sound like agirl with ebonic laungauge demanding that I pay 198.00 Me & Eds pizza from 2001. They called in the evening at 4:15 pm. and today May 17 20015 @9:35 am.. They used the number 559-634-9104. I call the bank I used to bank said that their was no outstanding checks that was left unpaid. They said it was a scam do not pay them anything. To call FTC for unwanted calls..  Today I called back spoke to a Nick Lawson that he was calling on a bad check. from Data Check of America their address is at 6991 East Camelback-Scottsdale Arizona 8525.  I told him I'd like to speak to the Supervisor named Nancy. And they hang-up But I got a call again from a different number 1-404-400-3677. They told me that if I did'nt pay that the would send it to checksystems. That I would have problems with writting any checks any where and with my bank. I told them That I spoke to the bank associate that if their was any oustanding checks that bank would of delt me personally. Not no middle man or agency. And that they would send it to the local DA office in the local checksystems.  How can those people call others to harras sleep at night knowing its wrong and unjustified. You will be judged! Mind you.

Most likely a debt collection scam.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.

They are branching out to Marietta, GA as well.  Just got the same spiel from Data Check of America from number 678-809-2785.  Same line, Check bounced to Winn Dixie over 15 years ago.  I asked for documentation to support the claim that I owe the money and they refused to send out that information, saying "company policy" would not allow them to do that.

She got very belligerent with me after I refused to give her any information to pay the amount.  If I ever bounced a check to Winn DIxie in my home town 20 years ago, I'm sure they collected on it at that time.

Just another scam.

Nick Lawson (He had to correct his last name spelling which tells me he is full of [***]) contacted me and gave me some BS about dragging my wife out of the house and throwing her in jail.
If anyone knows this filth.. out the piece of crap and make sure everyone know where he is and what he does.
They are making threats across state lines and are breaking multiple federal laws. Block their numbers and tell them to [***].
They are horrible scum that feed on the fear of others.

My husband received a call from them a few days ago with the same scam set up. Phone number 334-408-2327 out of Alabama. Copy of check on website. Demanding money, etc. He verified with the actual bank the check was written from 20 years ago and with his lawyer that this a fraud; on top of that he went through bankruptcy 7 years ago. So the chick calls again tonight and he repeats this information to her with the phone call ending in "hey heres an idea, why dont you go f*ck yourself you scam artist scum"
Her reply "i do" (ok?)
"ya go f*ck yourself",
"well at least i pay my debts from 20 years ago!", "ya go f*ck yourself goodbye"

We blocked the # through our phone company, which i highly recommend. The sad part is that his SSN is on the check...

Data check of anerica ir nevada is located in las vegas nevada 2295 renissance dr suite a ...This company is a scam and everybidy needs to get there legal parties involved from the da in las vegas to the fbi.Stealing money on paid check .

I'd be happy to join a class action against them! They have been hounding me for months about an 18 year old check for $17! It scared me when they sent me a copy of it. Luckily Ive already delt with scammers & know the proper procedures for debt collections. Also the statute of limitations  is 4 years in California.. AND I've never bounced a check in my life. Even if I had that bank would have collected it from my account before it was closed out.. But I'd like to put them out of buisness! I've read many forums where ppl are actually paying these bogus crooks!! It makes me so mad that these [***] are making a living stealing from ppl that don't know their rights!
