They said they had "legal papers for someone residing at this phone number" that needed to be delivered to my address. I told them the individual didn't reside here and was completely unknown.  When I asked emphatically how they got our phone number, they identified themselves as Accurate Location Information (CID showed only NEW YORK, NY 929-268-0327). This probably was a debt collector. The caller said that the individual they were seeking had provided our phone number in court documents. They said she'd be "subjected to additional charges for providing false information." I demanded that this entity, Accurate Location Information, NEVER call our home again under any circumstances whatsoever or we would take legal action against them.

We've been on the National Do Not Call Registry since 2008. It's basically useless against these Telephone Terrorists.  After multiple complaints to my phone company, COMCAST, about the escalating volume, variety and frequency of scams/schemes and other annoying calls received recently, they provided this number 1-888-382-1222 to file complaints with the Do Not Call Registry about violators. I don't know if they actively investigate and prosecute offenders, then levy sanctions/fines, but it was worth a try. Complaints may also be filed at: donotcall.gov

Meanwhile I took most effective immediate action available currently and blocked Accurate Location Information.

I also got a call from 855-999-8042 telling me that there is a lawsuit against me and also gave me a case #. Should I call them?

I received the SAME call just now, thank you everyone for this information as it is clearly harrassing, the woman called back repeatedly threatening me.  I am filing a complaint now.

Highland Park Financial are SCAMMERS
They just called me claiming I have an unpaid t mobile bill which is not true. They were claiming to take me to court, put liens on my house, car, paychecks, etc. I started laughing at her and she got mad at me, she said a few words and then hung up.

These rude scammrrs are trying to rob people by threatening them with legal action against them for unpaid bills from over a decade ago, please don't call back or give them any of your information, it's a scam!!!!!

my neighbboor just received this call, came over to my house so distraught and thankfully I was able to look it up for her and see it was a scam! HORRIBLE!!

I was contacted by Highland Park financial and was told my husband had a unpaid bill from 2005 to Consumer Cellular. We were separated at that time and he did get a cell phone and it was possible he owed money on it. They said if it wasn't paid within a short amount of time they would take him to court out of state and it would cost a lot more than the original bill. It scared us   We couldn't afford that kind of money and to take off work and try to drive out of state. Even though there were things I thought were wrong about this they got my husband on the phone and he gave his Banking information and had money taken out if his check like five or six times. They even sent a legal document after it was all paid off. It basically said that it was paid off and they couldn't come after us again but it also said we couldn't go after them if the amount was wrong knowingly or unknowingly. We signed a copy and sent it back to them. We got contacted right after that from United Processing Center starting the same thing. We didn't know that the first was a scam until my son checked on both names and told me it was a scam. The first one got $1200.00 from us.  Luckily my husband only gave them his payroll account that expired soon after this bill was paid off because we didn't even realize that it was a scam. I believe in Karma and God and these people will pay one way or another. My first warning sign that something wasn't right was when they used intimidation and try to cause fear and just really bulling me. They started realizing I wasn't convinced and was asking questions that they didn't have good answers for when all of a sudden they said they could only talk to my husband because it was confidential. That was another flag because it wasn't like medical records or something. If you fall for it once and pay them they will try it again. Please warn anyone older in your family because they are a easy mark. If someone has that much information on me and they say I owe something I am from a generation that would pay and a scam like this wouldn't even enter my mind.

"Olivia" from Highland Park financial in Menifee called me and gave me her direct number which is registered under Teresa Mahaffey. Teresa mahaffey is supposedly the CEO of that company. Several addresses, no actual location of business etc. Also received emails from their receptionist named Katie Hart. Funny thing though all numbers I called for then had the same girls voice, same recording and straight to a weird voicemail after one ring. Very unsure about this company. I do have a debt with a company that they claim contacted them but have not received anything in writing just emails. Very insistent on getting my card info for monthly payments towards this account.
