    Victimized
Not selling magazines this time, as many victims of this pesty telemarketer have indicated. The caller was selling signs this time. The caller must be working for a general telemarketing service in Canton, Ohio. I hope he gets a better job! The caller phoned this office illegally, because we haven't done business with them in the past!

Called to Massachusetts at dinner time from OHIO? Caller ID said OHIO.
When I took the time to answer and be polite they said hello and hung up.

I honestly think they call and hang up hoping you will call them back....if you do you automatically give them permission to call you again....because you called them!

O.K. folks....I myself HATE telemarketing. I feel that it is exploitation of the American population, especially when you get called one billion times in the week. Also...I was a telemarketer for periods of time in my life that added up to a few years of my life. I think it is indentured survitude. IT DOESN'T PAY THE BILLS!!!!!! But it will give you some boxes of macaroni and cheese to eat when the elite bankers of the world want to stick rods in the anal cavities of Americans. Yes people...when you loose your job and you have to contemplate between robbing, stealing, drug dealing, or telemarketing; telemarketing is pretty much the only legal choice.

Oh yes...as a telemarketer...if I didn't like you, and you acted like a douche to me on the phone; I would put you as a call back. I wouldn't care how many times you said no. If you acted nice and said, "thank you for the offer sir, but I humbly decline. Could you please put me on your do not call list," I would do exactly that. I would put you on the do not call list.

Think people....until there are enough people that write their local Congressman (which collect profits off of telemarketing centers themselves - some of them), then there probably won't be a change. The FCC doesn't care how many times you get called or if your frontal lobe is about to explode due to telemarketers trying to sell you something. Ask yourself this: If you were a rich guy, and you owned practically every freakin' thing, would you care about the average population? PROBABLY NOT....GIVE ME MY MONEY!!!!!! This is the company that owns Ebsco Teleservices: http://www.ebscoind.com/. Now I want you to go to this website and look at how many freakin' businesses this company owns. A HECK OF A LOT OF THEM. They just keep buying up businesses and buying up businesses. AGAIN...Ebsco offers jobs. Politicians like it when jobs are offered to people, because it lowers the crime rate; not to mention the kickbacks received for ignoring or implementing policies that favor their pockets.

In conclusion people...you need to worry about why there is a federal reserve system in the United States and how to stop it...That's what you need to worry about, instead of why a bunch of pot smoking, alcaholic youngers are calling your house trying to sell you something, because it WILL NOT STOP. It will continue until the monetary system in the world is fixed. Where's the middle class? WHERE!!!!!! Do something...picket, protest...I don't care, just get out there and fight these banks with all your might people....FIGHT...FIGHT...FIGHT!!!!!! Stop complaining and DO Something about it!!!!

There is no such thing. The FCC doesn't care about the "National Do Not Call List." Telemarketing companies always win because they have too much money.

Deal with the root of the matter: The Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve needs eliminated.

Here's a good way to get the calls to stop. I'm sorry...this is the only way. Gather a lot of people, go to a local Ebsco company (do the research, there are a lot of them), and picket in front of the company. If you want something done, you have to take action. I here way too much complaining and not enough action.

You can also write your local Congressman, along with picketing.

I refuse to renew a magazine subscription from a magazine company that thinks they have the right to SHARE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION. I am angry with Ebsco, but I am FURIOUS with my magazine companies for SHARING MY PERSONAL INFORMATION.  Call your magazine compainies before calling Ebsco. Find out what they are going to do for causing your inconvenience?? Make THEM correct the problem. IF they are sharing your personal information with EBSCO, WHO ELSE ARE THEY SHARING IT WITH????? HOW MANY OF OUR TELEMARKETING CALLS ARE CAUSED BY MAGAZINE COMPANIES????? If they don't correct the problem, AND offer you a free subscription for the inconvenience. Find someone on  that is willing to share  issues. (CHECK CRAIGSLIST)
Lets fight back, by working together to stop these Gypsy type telemarketing practices.

We're getting hang-up calls to our switchboard.  It appears to be an auto-dialer running down a list.  We have a bunch of direct dial numbers that are not currently assigned to a physical phone so the calls ring at the switchboard.  The switchboard phone rings once or twice and stops.  If you manage to grab the phone before the second ring, there's no one there.  I called the number (1-330-492-2913) and reached a recording that says they're EBSCO Teleservices, an automated service for renewing magazine subscriptions, and directing me to leave a message.  I asked them, nicely, to remove all 300 of my direct dial numbers (including the ones on users' phones) from their list.  We'll see how it goes

Receive numerous calls at all hours.  Called the number back on the weekend and got an answering machine.  They are trying to get me to renew magazine subscriptions.  I left a message asking them to remove my name and number from their call list...we'll see if it works.

Maybe instead of ignoring you pond scum I should answer and find out who you are representing and then cancel that subscription. That will put an end to to you and your services.

No....that's just the stupidity of the telemarketer. You see...numbers are stored on the database. A dialer sends these numbers out to terminals; where the telemarketer is located. The telemarketer receives a call through his open line that is connected to a program called Magellan Application Interpreter. This application interpreter is the interface that the telemarketer interacts with. It has buttons on there such as: Answer machine, call back, do not call, disconnect, etc... When the dialer sends the number to the terminal, the telemarketer hears whether there is an answering machine, or a live person; ussually it is an answering machine. The reflexes of the telemarketer continually hit the "answering machine" button over and over again, but occasionally there is a live person (YOU). Well...since the telemarketer is constantly hitting "answering machine" over and over due to nobody wanting to answer their phone, and you pop up out of nowhere with a cheerful "Hello", the telemarketer is caught off guard and sais "hello" back to YOU, but accidentally pushes the "answer machine" button on the computer. Thus...the reason why they hang up on you when they say hello.

It isn't some weird scheme to want you to call them back...they don't care. In fact...you can't call them back....it is impossible through an outbound system to let you call them back. In double fact...the telemarketer probably said "WOOPS" when they accidently pushed "answering machine".

Tell them this exact statement: "Put me on your do not call list." You have to say those words EXACTLY or the telemarketer does not have to put you on the do not call list. This is a VERBATUM industry. Which means it is an industry governed by word for word response and action that is regulated by the FCC.

Some statement that won't get you put on the do not call list:
    1. put me on the no call list.
    2. put me on the no mail list.
    3. please don't call me.
    4. Stop calling me.
    5. Don't call me or I'll call the BBB. (this one's funny, BBB isn't a government organisation).
    6. Swearing and throwing a temper tantrum. (This only makes the telemarketer laugh silently at you and click on the "Call Back" button which makes it possible for you to receive a hundred calls that night).

Again, the only way is: "Put me on your do not call list". You have to remember; if you have the money to fight the telemarketing industry, then by all means...DO IT. If you are as broke as telemarketers are, nothing will happen to the telemarketing industry, and you better start talking to some liberal politicians, because the conservative ones are the people that own telemarketing companies.
